I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas whatever you are doing. A warm house, some good food, a bit of family fun on the internet and hopefully some entertaining tv.

BladeAnnie Fri 25-Dec-20 18:08:32

Just quickly popping in to say Merry Christmas to everyone - hope the day has been kind to you however you spent it

Urmstongran Fri 25-Dec-20 19:06:12

We are home & cosy after a lovely Christmas dinner in our bubble of 7 in Manchester. There were gales of laughter at the dinner table when our 3y old granddaughter asked me if I wanted to pull a cracker and grandad said ‘she pulled one years ago chicken’ (meaning himself of course).

Cue quick witted mummy who said ‘well there’s often a dud one in every box’.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely day.
For everyone who has been kind enough to mention DH I thought I would let you know at 5.30 this evening I was allowed to pick him up and bring him home. We are both exhausted with the effort but at least he’s here. Our Christmas can begin.
Have a lovely time all ????

Charleygirl5 Fri 25-Dec-20 21:06:26

I loved that one Urmston.

Believe it or not, I am going to bed in a few minutes to read.
My meal was lovely and I remembered to microwave the mini Christmas pud about an hour after my duck leg was consumed because I was rather full. There will be plenty of wine for tomorrow-good it lasts 3 meals.

Oh how wonderful that your husband is back home with you Doodle. You’ll both be exhausted now I expect. An emotional week as well as physically draining.

Sleep well both in anticipation of a good day together tomorrow.

Jaxjacky Fri 25-Dec-20 21:32:26

Oh Doodle what lovely, lovely news...hugs...enjoy

Charleygirl5 Fri 25-Dec-20 21:33:36

Oh Doodle what a ridiculous time to discharge DH- I only hope he is okay and you are not up half the night to take him to the loo or trying to sort out his pain relief.

Being a cynical old bag they needed the bed and to hell with him. Rant over.

LauraNorder Fri 25-Dec-20 21:54:55

Happy that you two Doodles can have a happy Boxing Day.
Your day sounds fun Urms.
Ours was quiet like yours Charley, the duck and Christmas pud sound good, we had our chips and egg last night and beef today.
Happy Christmas night Jax and BladeAnnie and all

Grandmabatty Fri 25-Dec-20 22:18:23

That's lovely news Doodle. I hope you are both resting now. You can have Christmas tomorrow.

dragonfly46 Fri 25-Dec-20 22:31:02

So pleased to hear Mr Doodle is home.

cornergran Fri 25-Dec-20 23:00:08

Delighted for you and your husband doodle, hope you can both sleep tonight. Being discharged is exhausting for everyone.

annsixty Fri 25-Dec-20 23:02:44

So pleased for you both Doodle
I hope his pain regime is working and you both get some sleep now you are together again.

I forgive Tara for waking me so early. She has demolished 2 sachets of food and even licked the bowl clean. I must make a note of what was so delicious. She does not want to go out, much better walking up and down my keyboard. I managed to get a slot at Morrisons for the 11th january- a lot was out of stock but I will probably live on what I have managed to order.
Tara's order was longer than mine!

Very good news about your DH Doodle and I hope he was comfortable overnight back in his own bed and home with you.

Charleygirl more panic buying? It is concerning and no doubt the food banks will also notice a drop in donations just at a time when they are at most need.
Perhaps Tara would like a musical keyboard? You may be missing one of her talents.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 26-Dec-20 11:00:35

Dear Doodle please you have your precious DH home with you, hoping you both had a good nights sleep and have a restful Boxing Day.

I have just sat down and given the nearly one year old his bottle and he has fallen asleep which means I cannot move for at least an hour tipping ????

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Dec-20 16:39:20

Doodle I hope the pair of you managed to get a decent night's sleep otherwise I will be enrolling you both in my "How to Sleep" school starting next month.

It is so cold here but at least quiet. TV is so scintillating for me I will not be switching it on.

I can hardly believe the baby of your family will be one year old in a few days’ time GG13!

I do hope soop will get a refund for her non-existent broadband service these last few days. Actually it’s been a while ... cue a Boxing Day joke.

Jaxjacky Sat 26-Dec-20 18:05:52

Doodle hoping today has been settled.
Awaiting storm Bella to hit, the worse is due at 3 in the morning, does it have to be when we’re sleeping? I’ve closed the bedroom window and opened the ensuite one. Anyway, probably wine o’clock, hoping you soopers have a pleasant evening and that the hostess herself is back soon, I’m infuriated for her!

Doodle Sat 26-Dec-20 18:26:11

You are all so kind. Thank you for your good wishes.
Yesterday was a long day but worth it in the end to get DH home. He was very fragile last night but seems to have improved already today and is making progress with his walking frame.
DH is warm so we have a window open. I was cold so am now snuggled up in my Christmas present. A lovely soft throw for my legs.
We have zoomed and face timed today. Had a light meal and now resting before we set off for our trek to the bedroom. Thank goodness we live in a flat and not a mansion, we’d never make it.
Hope everyone had a lovely Boxing Day TOYA ?

Lins1066 Sat 26-Dec-20 19:05:23

Very pleased to hear that your husband is home ×Doodle× and that he had made progress with the walking frame. I'm sure he is delighted to be home and sleeping in his own bed. Sending a gentle hug and all good wishes to you both.
Took the puppy Sam for a walk this morning before the bad weather set in, Storm Bella is starting to make her presence felt here. We have battered down the hatches and lit the fire.
We have plenty of candles if there is a power cut, there have been power cuts already further west, hope ×Cherry× is ok over Swansea Bay.

Doodle Sat 26-Dec-20 19:39:59

Thank you Lins. Hope you aren’t too battered by the storm..

tanith Sun 27-Dec-20 08:07:24

Good morning, I popped on GN to read my usual catch up with threads but Soops kitchen had dropped of the list of threads and I had to search for it thank goodness I found it.
So I wish you all a happy Sunday hope to see Soop back where she belongs soon and was pleased to read Doodles DH is home and improving. Lots more going on I know but I have trouble keeping up with everything. ?

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Dec-20 08:50:08

tanith you and me both. I was allowed a lie in today so we are both peacefully sitting in the kitchen, one has had her breakfast and is content but does not want to go out. The other will have to go out later for a loaf of bread.

You missed a trick there, Charley - maybe return as a cat in your next life? But only if you can find a home like yours! ?

Hope everyone has managed their own, much modified, re-arranged, limited or even slightly wonky Christmas - with a few smiles. From the media I’m picking up on some real hope - for the first time in ages and am determined to look forward, after all that’s had to be endured, to a Spring where we can pick up our lives again. Everything crossed for that.

So pleased Mr Doodle was able to knot some sheets together and make a Yuletide bid for freedom and hope so much that he’ll soon be very much stronger - and pain free - in your loving care Doodle.

Lovely calm day with sunshine here. Will go for a walk and just chill. I’ve a number of masks to dry but no real housework. When your Son arm wrestles you for the vacuum cleaner, it seems only courteous to let him do it......
At this rate I shall be signing up for one of * Urms* much lauded #lazygran courses.

All lovely Kitcheners who feel poorly or even a bit below par, hugs and good wishes for a better day. To The Kitchen Kween who is much missed, hope you both + Fern had a good Christmas. Miss you lots......and a plague on the house of BT ?
Take care lovely peeps. x
