A late visit to make sure everything is in order before soop returns. Acupuncture tomorrow morning - I do find it a bit stingy at times. Is it me or her?!
Jersey trip, some tips please.
I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.
Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.
If not, see you tomorrow.
Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Did anyone notice maw?
.
No!
Not sure whether to say good evening or good morning all. It’s 1.44 on Tuesday but I still feel as though I’m in Monday.
DH fell down the stairs this afternoon. Only the last couple but unfortunately he landed with his back on the metal stair tread. The rest of the day has been taken up with phoning the GP and 111 and finally an ambulance crew arrived just before midnight. DH is now dosed up with painkillers and hopefully sleeping . I have had a coffee a biscuit and see if I can get to bed without waking him up. He is in extreme pain and the ambulance crew think he might have broken ribs. Due to DH being shielded they decided it wasn’t worth the risk of taking him to hospital as they wouldn’t bandage his ribs anyway. The GP thought he might have pneumothorax but the ambulance chap gave DH a good check up and thinks his lungs are fine he just has a very painful back .
8 weeks ago he was 999d into hospital with sepsis. He certainly keeps me on my toes. ?. Sleep well kitcheners.
Hope everyone is ok.
So sorry to read that news Doodle what an unfortunate thing to happen.
He must have been in terrible pain waiting all that time for the paramedics to arrive.
Did you have to leave him on the floor until they arrived?
You will both be quite shocked, please try to get some rest, you are going to need considerable strength and patience over the coming weeks.
I hope they left you with a prescription for lots of strong painkillers.
Sincerest best wishes to you both.
Sorry to hear about your DH Doodle. What an anxious few hours you have had. I can understand how difficult it is for you to relax but I hope you are sleeping peacefully now knowing you did exactly the right thing and gaining some reassurance from the paramedics. Cracked or broken ribs are very painful as they have to heal by themselves. Best wishes to you and your DH.
Thank you both for your kind thoughts.
No ann he was actually able to get up after about 5 minutes to get his breath back. We managed to get him into the lift and back to the apartment before the real pain set in.
He is sleeping on and off but is in agony if he tries to move. I have had a nap too but we have just done a toilet trip which takes about 15 minutes for him to get up and there and back so I am letting him try and get back to sleep while I browse GN.
Greenfinch haven’t spoken to you for a while. I remember you have twin DGC . This COVID stuff can’t be helping your DGS much. Hope he and the family are ok. You too ann.
Thanks for thinking of us Doodle. Life is not easy for us at the moment as the twins are living with us and as DH is CEV the whole school situation is very worrying. DGS with his problems is just about coping though he finds the one way system at school difficult as it is not the normality he is used to. Wearing a mask seems to be acceptable to him even though he grumbles about it.I do hope your DH has a reasonably comfortable day. I can imagine the agony of the toilet visits. Thinking of you
I’m sorry to hear your DH has tumbled down Doodle it is one more worry when you’re still reeling from the last.
I hope he is comfortable now with the painkillers taking effect and that you can take today gently. It is a terrible strain on you too and you must look after yourself, to be able to look after your DH. ?
So much poorliness and worries just now on GN but we have no choice but to ‘plod on’ to better times which are hopefully just around the corner.
Take care everyone. Hope soop is recuperating now. ?
TOYA .
Oh Doodle. How simply awful for him. Such an easy thing to do but falling on your back on stair edges is going to take some time to recover from. Once he (and you) are over the shock, try to ensure he’s a good patient. Assuming he has broken ribs? Or strained, twisted or bruised lots, he does need to keep on top of the painkillers and try to do very little. If he feels despairing, he should try to hold on to the thought that he did it and it was a simple accident, he’s not ill and so mustn’t worry - that pain will go. Meanwhile take regular painkillers and not wait until he’s desperate. Wishing him everything for a rapid recovery. And you, please take care of yourself as well. Rest both of you. I’m so sorry. ?
Best wishes to your DH Doodle - I hope his pain can be managed. Take good care of yourself too
So sorry to hear of your DH's tumble Doodle. A big shock to his system and frightening for you seeing it happen. Hopefully he will start to feel better soon
.
My DH tripped and fell a few weeks ago and I know I felt sick at the time as he has two replacement hips and I was so worried he had damaged them. He hurt his ribs and it took a little while to feel 100% again.
Best wishes to you both xx
Oh Doodle, I'm so sorry to hear about your dh's fall. What a worry for you both. My best wishes for a speedy recovery. I'm missing Soop and her gentle words of encouragement and support. Take care everyone.
No joy from BT at the Soops' house yet I'm afraid, although apparently BT staff have tried to be helpful and S and MacS have had "two long visits from Willie the concerned engineer".
Soop is missing you all something rotten but reports that the Black Cat is in the den.
Doodle so sorry to hear about the accident. If he has broken ribs they take 6 weeks to repair but he will still have a lot of pain for a while on the bits of his body which bounced off the stairs.
When I broke ribs many moons ago I could not carry a handbag I was in so much pain.
Thank you all for your good wishes and kind comments.
I am very lucky in that DH is a very uncomplaining person. He has had many operations and hospital admissions and is a very good patient but he cannot disguise the pain he is in with every little movement. It is taking over half an hour to shuffle to the bathroom and back. GP has now prescribed stronger painkillers so hopefully they will work a bit better. He is sleeping or dosing a lot which helps.
Thanks for the advice about taking the painkillers regularly Grandmafrench I think that is what’s needed. I have let him go too long when he has been sleeping and I don’t think that helps.
Sar good to hear your DH is feeling better now.
Sorry soop is still out of contact.
Greenfinch life is hard enough for autistic children but trying to cope with COVID and all the changes is causing problems for so many children. It is good your DGS I’ll wear a mask. Many can’t cope with it. Sorry to hear about your DH. I hope you all keep safe.
Charleygirl hope you and Tara are ok. At least that’s one thing DH won’t have to worry about, he doesn’t have a handbag ? ...(at least not one that I know about ?)
Doodle how is your DGS coping with it all? Have you seen him or heard from him ? I do hope your DH has a better night and you too of course.
Hope you and your husband get a better sleep tonight doodle, that was quite a scare. Mr C missed his footing, just one step from the bottom, on Saturday. He made such a clatter as he hit a radiator, no damage done other than to his pride but it certainly gave me a scare.
Thanks for the update baggs. I can image the frustration soop and macs are feeling.
Bit weary tonight so I’m off to get some sleep. TOYA, be good everyone.
Hmm, I’ve had a couple of Covid symptoms and have to take a test.
As I rely on Gary and Kate, I don’t know how I’m going to manage
Having sleepless night. Too much in my head. Made a lovely hot water bottle. doodle. How difficult for you both. What about a pee bottle instead of shuffling to the loo.
Hope you get some rest.
galen. Only about 5 in a hundred tests come back positive. I hope you are in the 95 per cent.
Galen hope you are ok and get a negative test back.
DH has been taken to hospital. Even with the maximum dose of painkillers he was unable to move much and the pain was getting worse. Ambulance took him in about 30 minutes ago for X-rays and tests.
feeling sorry you’re not sleeping. Sometimes we have too much going on.
Greenfinch thank you for asking. He’s ok so far. He only has to go in two days a week which suits him as he doesn’t sleep well and is tired often during the day. He has days when he has to study online too.
Thanks corner. Glad your DH is ok. It’s so easily done isn’t it.
Once again in the early hours I am saying so sorry Doodle
If they are doing x-rays it is possible your H has more damage than originally thought, considering the extreme pain he is in.
Hopefully while there he will get the strongest pain relief, the type he can’t get while at home.
I feel you may be in for the long haul.
Take good care of yourself please.
Thanks ann. He has just phoned. He is waiting for an X-ray but they have given him morphine so hopefully that will ease the pain. You take care too.
Oh dear doodle, I’m so sorry you’re both going through this. Hope your husband is home soon with some clarity about his injury. Mr C was very lucky. Please rest when you can.
You’ve done the right thing Galen, hope you get a quick, negative result. Easy for me to say I know but please try not to worry and be as comfortable as you can in the meantime. Please let us know the outcome, we’ll worry about you.
Rain beating on the window woke me at silly o’clock. Think it will be a long day. Take care everyone. TOYA.
