I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and messages. charleygirl you are absolutely right. They want to get his pain under control so he will start breathing properly and avoid chest infection. He is on morphine now so hope he will get some sleep.
N&G I feel for young Cooper. I so wanted a dog of my own but unfortunately, for several reasons, I didn’t get one till I was married and had my own home. My DGC all have dogs and they love them to bits. If mum and dad are willing is there no chance of a rescue puppy?
Any news yet Galen?
soop we miss you.
Urmston the kitchen is the best place to be. Always kindness and support.......and laughs.........and cake, plus the odd bit of bubbly. ?

Baggs Wed 16-Dec-20 20:27:05

soop has just texted over "All good wishes to dear kitcheners".

Engineer is ’hopeful’ for a Friday resolution.

NanaandGrampy Wed 16-Dec-20 20:51:32

Thanks for your kind words .

You know I would sell my soul for these young lads BUT I have a real issue with rescue dogs. I know lots of people have them very successfully but some of the dogs that need rescuing have some very bad habits that are hard to break.

Also a lot of rescues won’t even consider you for any dog if you have young children.

So it sounds like a good solution but it’s mostly not workable sadly .

Cooper will have to make do with his best buddy Sam for now and who knows what the future will bring xx

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello after recommendations from the lovely grandmafrench and urmstongran on the daily Good Morning thread! Hope you’ve space for another one in the kitchen ? ?

Urmstongran Wed 16-Dec-20 20:59:52

I’ll budge up and make room for you brook.
I’m sure someone from the kitchen will be along soon to welcome you.
They’re a nice bunch.
?

brook2704 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:01:52

Thank you urms do you come here often ? ?

Grandmafrench Wed 16-Dec-20 21:05:33

Hi Brook - if soop was here she would definitely be making everyone shove up, giving you a seat closest to the wood burner and covering your knees with a warm fleece and a plate of something delicious. However, her Royal Kitchenship is somewhere in a bit of a bate, I think, having had lots of words with the telephone people and trying to get her computer working again after endless problems! But, welcome from me for now. Others will be dropping by, I'm sure. Hope you've had a good day today ! ?‍♀️

brook2704 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:09:38

Thank you grandmafrench!

Puzzler61 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:14:53

Hi brook2704. soop ‘s wonderful kitchen is always a warm and welcoming place.
Lots of kind words, encouragement and companionable chats.
We have (virtual) cakes and bakes. The beauty of them is they are calorie-free ?
We have a real appreciation of our beloved pets’ photographs, grandchildren pics and flower and craft photo’s too.

kittylester Wed 16-Dec-20 21:48:40

Welcome brook, did you bring cake? I didn't have any tea and I'm starving now.

Back tomorrow!

NanaandGrampy Wed 16-Dec-20 21:50:55

Evening Brook , welcome to the kitchen !

brook2704 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:56:37

Oooh yes puzzler and kitty I didn’t come empty handed, I’ve brought home made calorie free vanilla cupcakes ... hope there’s enough to go round ....

brook2704 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:57:39

Hi nanaandgrampy ?

Feelingmyage55 Wed 16-Dec-20 21:57:47

Welcome brook. Any type of cake or biscuit will do.
popping in to see if *galen has her results but maybe it was a postal test so slower?
doodle. Rest as much as you can, even if you don’t sleep well, as you’ll be busy when Mr D arrives home.
soop. Looking forward to a Friday reunion.

Grandmabatty Wed 16-Dec-20 21:57:52

Welcome Brooke my absolutely wonderful dd gave me a goody bag earlier of homemade sweet treats. I'll give you some as you sit snugly by the wood burner. Rocky road biscoff fudge, chocolate fudge, oreo fudge, a white chocolate fudge etc. A full on babysitting day which was just lovely except for the bout of vomiting. But that was easy to sort. Him, not me, I hasten to add. I'm away to my bed as another day of toddler wrangling tomorrow. Help yourself to the fudge. It's very nice.

Charleygirl5 Wed 16-Dec-20 22:17:30

Welcome Brook those cakes look gorgeous.

Doodle I agree, you need to catch up with your sleep because when Mr Doodle returns you will be the gopher again but hopefully the pain will be under control by the time he is discharged. As I said earlier it takes 6 weeks for # ribs to heal and they are painful for many weeks.

N&G rescue centres also do not allow animals to go to new homes over Christmas. I do not know what the solution is for the two fellows.

Nannytopsy Wed 16-Dec-20 22:26:34

Welcome Brook and thanks for the cake! On a carb free diet, I am getting a bit desperate now! Christmas cake, mince pies, stollen, anything with spice and dried fruit are my absolute favourites and it’s getting harder ?. All virtual goodies gratefully received!

brook2704 Wed 16-Dec-20 22:35:39

Thank you all for such a very warm welcome to this lovely kitchen! I’ve really enjoyed my seat beside the wood burner tonight. Mmmmm yes Nannytopsy I love stollen too ... now where did I put it ?..
Sorry about your little GS being sick grandmabatty, enjoy your day with him tomorrow!
See you all again soon ?

Doodle Wed 16-Dec-20 22:47:39

Welcome brook. The kitchen can hold an ever increasing number of people. Always room for one more, especially one bringing cakes ?
Thanks for letting us know about soop Baggs. Looking forward to having her back with us.
charleygirl yes I do need some sleep. I have heard I can visit for an hour tomorrow so that has cheered us both up.
grandmabatty I love your description of looking after a toddler. ?. Thanks for the fudge.
N&G I think you are right about rescue dogs. Sometimes they need more adult experienced handlers. I expect Sam likes his extra cuddles when the boys come anyway. ?
I’m off to my bed. Night night all. Sleep well.
Hope you get some good news soon Galen

Lins1066 Wed 16-Dec-20 22:49:00

I've only just caught up with events in the Kitchen.
Doodle I'm sorry to hear about your husband's broken ribs, poor man, I hope that he is more comfortable now with stronger pain relief. As you know a year ago I had two spinal fractures which were found to be caused by osteoporosis, getting to the loo was excruciating. It has been a shock for you both so please look after yourself too xx
As has been said Galen it is very wise to have the test, which I hope you failed.
Lovely photos of the boys N&G which I'm sure cheered us all up.
Feeling down tonight, we had already made up our minds not to see our son, his partner and the four year old for Christmas, however the stricter rules in Wales just announced brings it all home very starkly.
Another one hoping that soop is back soon.
TOYA

Urmstongran Wed 16-Dec-20 22:54:23

Lins that must have been a hard decision for you all to make. I can understand your sadness tonight. x

Lins1066 Wed 16-Dec-20 23:14:38

Urm ?

kittylester Thu 17-Dec-20 07:05:41

Lins, I feel your pain. One set of dgc asked for photos of our decorations on WhatsApp. That started an avalanche of photos and our daughters all upset not to be able to get together as normal. We had 23 at lunch last year and this year we will be 3. sad

Lovely cakes and fudge - thank you Brook and grandmabatty.

Back later to catch up with galen's exam results.

Nice to see you n&g.

TOYA

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Dec-20 07:45:06

Doodle I'm glad you're able to visit your husband. Take care. I've hidden the rest of the fudge as it is so good. Off for a toddler day. Hopefully no throwing up involved!

Sar53 Thu 17-Dec-20 07:57:04

Your poor husband Doodle, I wish him well, hopefully the painkillers will work their magic soon. You look after yourself as well.
N&G, love the picture of the boys with Santa. My three youngest granddaughters all saw Santa, socially distanced and wearing a visor, none of them batted an eyelid. It has all become so normal for them ?.
I wish you all a good day.
