Virtual plane trip for Club Gransnet - where to?!

When I first joined, there was a thread suggesting interested parties hire a plane to visit lived ones in NZ/OZ.
Please can we charter another?
I am only now missing my son and his little family in Brisbane. I know he would be pleased to meet you all if you'd like a stopover (?), as much as I would love to see more of these countries- and, maybe, GNetters too.
Any joiners? Where shall we call?
As for creature comforts, I should like, please, proper beds and a shower and the sheer joy of the Argy Bargy staff to organise the drinks and eats (ensuring that we do get to our destination in corpore sano )

Now there's a conundrum, Tweedle24.
Sicily for me, too, please, as a stop-over if you can conjure up the delightful commissario. (Might even unpack my cossie while we're there ?).

I’d like to stop off at New York to see our son and family please. I’m not too choosy but business class and a constant stream of bubbly would be rather nice. Oh, almost forgot, can we please have door to airport transport?

I would be happy just being on the plane, as i have never flown and it has always been my dream to do so.

If you’re talking First Class, even better.
A stop over in Melbourne and then on to Christchurch NZ would be great. FaceTime is wonderful, but I do miss seeing friends and family over there.

Somewhere hot and tropical. Don’t worry about a return ticket.

I won't be stopping off in Oz if Les Patterson is there. Not unless he has washed the stains off his tie

AGAA4 If you don't mind, it's Sir Les and he'll never wash off those badges of honour, even if you're coming all the way from Wales. tchhmm
It's a Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tie and it's one way of smelling his presence when he greets you all!
OoRoo {That means cheers!) tchgrin

Italy please

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 12-Jan-21 11:13:13

I'll stop in the South of France to see my lovely Niece and her family, then go on to Sydney to meet my new great grand Niece. One the way back can we top in LA where we had a fantastic holiday about 10 years ago? Then a so-over in New York where I have never been but would love to go? Then home - exhausted!!

Break 'Ixion' down into sounds: [IK] + [SY] + [UHN] - say it ^out loud and exaggerate the sounds until you can consistently ^produce them

Ixion Got it! You're part of Greek mythology; not a Greek tragedy I trust! So what's wrong with a stop-over in Athens? tchgrin
Your ancestors wouldn't make nice neighbours, so thankfully they're now mythical.
Unfortunately, when the authorities heard you were coming, all the State borders were immediately closed again and security at airports and seaports has been tripled! sad
One suggestion; have you considered a fleet of submarines? Yellow possibly? tchgrin
We're pretty weak in that regard!

Bring back Concorde , first class travel throughout and it reduces the jet lag. Even now I miss seeing it daily

Maybe it's a bit out of the way, but could we please take a chance to try and catch the Northern Lights in Norway. Bring your thermal drawers ladies!

TillyWhiz Tue 12-Jan-21 11:35:41

Could we go via Sweden please to see my GC? On flight Smoked salmon and cream cheese sarnies would be nice with a g&t. Failing that, a double chocolate muffin.

Rufus2 Tue 12-Jan-21 11:41:13

ronnie in your hand
Callistemon Who's he?
I've met Percy, thanks to Sir Les. tchgrin, but I've never shown a photo of him; he'd soon be deleted. String vest indeed! tchshock
You've obviously forgotten a lot of that Strine you learned when working on cattle stations in the Outback so maybe I should start up some more remote learning!? tchhmm
Btw; there's a Russian cargo plane that might just about lift off with you all on board;
Are any Grandads coming or do they stay home to feed the cats! tchgrin
OoRoo ( that means Cheers!)

I thought we were having our own plane... so we can configure it how we wish.

Yes, I'd like to see the northern lights too Alioop

Rufus2 Tue 12-Jan-21 11:52:59

You have a very large luggage allowance
Callistemon Don't you mean "baggage"?
Luggage is something that goes in the hold! tchgrin

I just want to see daughter and grandchild in Dulwich. A plane is complicated as I'm in Watford. Would it be possible to get a helicopter to pick me up and take me there? They can get to places more easily.

Have you ever been on it? No beds, rather squashed in, but I suppose if you can get to Australia in 10 hours it would be worth it.

No drop-offs allowed though.

I can see we need to broaden our horizons!
We clearly need a Club Gransnet Chauffeur Service for Patticake123 (and many others, I would guess). Also a Club Gransnet Whirlybird branch to get vickya from Watford to Dulwich.
No problem!

First stop to Nairobi to visit my old country - trip of a lifetime booked there for last October, but sadly cancelled. Then on to Sweden to spend time with lovely son. Oh to sit & dream!

Skweek1 Tue 12-Jan-21 12:58:59

Cape Town to see my lovely ex-boss, then Rio for a visit to my adopted sister who lives on the bay and who I've known for 50 years, since she was about 14.

Bluecat Tue 12-Jan-21 14:11:00

Could we call at Chicago, please, and get a connection there for Madison, Wisconsin? My daughter and her family are there. It would be nice to travel in comfort - business class?

Daftbag1 Tue 12-Jan-21 14:41:37

Stop over in Hong Kong please, and then a trip to Singapore perhaps we could go to Raffles, they do a lovely curry, and the hotel itself is beautiful, so colonel.......

Ilovedragonflies Tue 12-Jan-21 14:42:25

Via Cyprus, please. I have a client (I'm an editor amongst other things) who has turned into a virtual friend who lives there. Warm days, good conversations and a drop of wine.. ahhh, bliss!

Thanks to my mum I’ve flown business to Oz and you get a chauffeur from hi e to airport provided it’s less than (I think) 70 miles. Bliss

On my first ever visit to Sydney day 2 walking round the Rocks/opera house area I saw Barry Humpries ! Couldn’t believe it.
