I often feel 8 is a special time in the life of a dog. They’re usually content, biddable and easy to live with. Sam is young so here’s hoping a full recovery. I’ve a great photograph of my much loved huge labradoodle wearing one of my XL t shirts after surgery at age 10 for a small lump.

I’m sort of ok. I had a reaction to the AstraZeneca vaccine and it’s knocked me off for a few days.

N&G Our Sam is loved by many people. I am hoping that he turns a corner very soon and will recover from this latest setback.

Galen Sorry to hear that both you and dragonfly have had a reaction to the vaccine. So far, so good. We haven't felt anything other than immensely grateful.

The gentleman with whom we've been in touch via the BT executive missive sent by *Mr Soop*, phoned this morning. Although another engineer will be looking into the buggeration of the last seven weeks this afternoon sometime, there is no guarantee that he'll discover what the problem is let alone fix it. Let joy be unconfined.

I shall visit the kitchen buffet to test taste all the calorie-rich goodies that you have baked. Forget the low calorie diet. Life is for living. Will you lot join me?

soop you had internet access before, why can you not have it again? I know I am a complete technophobe but it does not make any sense to me.

Absolutely IAM , Sam is an absolute pleasure to live with. We tried the t shirt but he is in full winter coat and he was soon panting away being far too hot. He is currently wearing a very smart bandana which stops him getting access to his itchy spot.

His treatment will be ongoing for a few weeks but I downloaded the insurance claim form this morning- good grief you have to have some staying power . Its page after page !! Our lovely vet said we can just give it to her and at the end she'll fill it in thank goodness.

I hope the antibiotics work soon Charley , I tried to clean his neck up today but it has totally matted his fur into a hard mass. I am wondering if the groomers would cut his neck hair - they are open for emergencies and extreme matting - so they might be willing. Its so hard to see the infection site with his winter coat in place.

I am with Charley on this Soop - you had perfectly workable internet so is it not a simple matter of following the lines or cables from junction box to house and finding the issue? Shall I ring up the head of BT and have a little word in his shell like? Does he KNOW who you are :-) ??

Snap galen. Delighted to have an AstraZenica jab yesterday, today I feel very strange. Nauseous, dizzy, headache and no energy at all. It will pass and I’m grateful for the vaccine.

It’s been a sad time for us, family stress and a painful loss with added worry today. I’ve been reading but know you will all understand if I’m not posting just now.

Poor Sam n&g, hope he’s more comfortable and you’re less worried very soon.

So sorry there hasn’t been a fix for your internet connection soop. At least you have a context overseeing thr indie now, not much of a compensation I know.

Mr C will come with me for a short, gentle walk in the rain for a stretch and some head clearing.

N&G if you get the matted area cut asap at least you will be able to get a better idea of what is happening to Sam's wound and you will be able to bathe it for him thus soothing it.

I hope the antibiotics do their magic for little Sam soon N&G, a worrying time for you whilst you wait though, our animals are so precious, when they suffer, we suffer. The groomers will surely trim his neck, especially if they know the circumstances.

After a restart it has dried up here and there is a stiff wind ablowing.
Fish and chips from the local fish bar tonight, followed by a Zoom Sherlock Murder Mystery, looking forward to that.

Why are we waiting? Good question. I may take up tap dancing or roller skating to help to pass the time between now and when the next engineer may (or not) call with a further update.
When MR Soop had the telephone conversation earlier today, he raised the matter of compensation. The gentleman from BT assured him that it will be dealt with in due course.
I cannot say that I am past caring. Let's say, I'm teteering on the brink of needing a new booster for my internal batteries. We are both running on the dregs in the feel good tank.

I drove to the local shop for the paper today. As I pulled out of the forecourt, the engine was revving. I limped along, then put the hazard warning lights on, switched off the engine and started again. Still the motor raced. I do not drive our car anywhere near as often as does Mr Soop and I felt totally mesmerised by what was happening. When I went through the switch off/switch on procedure for the fourth time, I knocked the gear lever slightly and...it was then that I realised that the car was not in automatic mode. What is to become of me? Answers on a postage stamp please.

Urms Your stepfather will feel chuffed to have an appointment for his cataract removal. Mr Soop is waiting for his appointment. I've had both eyes seen to. An amazing improvement for which I'm thankful.

The audiologist tinkered with both my hearing aids earlier today. When I popped them back where they belong, the sound of my own footsteps sounded very noisy at first. I've been missing a lot of dialogue on TV recently. It will be a pleasure to hear every word.

The latest travel programme that we have enjoyed greatly, is Simon Reeve as he visits the less affluent parts of the world. He has met some inspiring people. His easy manner is endearing.

and G, hope the sore spot stops annoying him soon. Galen, you and corner seem to have had bad luck with your vaccinations, round here we all seem to be having Pfizer and I haven't heard of any reactions. Soop it beggars belief that you have had internet access in the past but that they may not be able to find out what's gone wrong now. Slightly contentious, but I feel all the money that's been spent on HS2 would have been better spent on giving everyone decent broadband.

Just popping in to say hello lovely people. I'm sorry there's so much sadness around - virtual hugs and special thoughts to you all. Lovely flowers to cheer us all up Puzzler . So I had my first covid vaccination yesterday. All went well although I feel rather achey and not quite 100% today. But it will pass and I am grateful I was able to have it. I've had a nice lazy with the fire, Duncan and catch up tv. Mr BA has kept my favourite mug filled with herbal tea - what more could a girl ask??

I was very pleased to find a lovely child’s book beautifully written explaining the virus for my GS.It’s about a dog called Molly and 2 pigeons who try and save the world from corona virus.The strange thing is the author lives in the next road! Hopefully it may help his anxiety a little.

Fern is sitting on the back door mat. She's had a hearty meal and is cleaning her face with gusto.

I hope your internet gets sorted out quickly soop. I decided today that I could put up with cables being strung in front of our house as I’d rather be able to have the internet and feel connected to family and friends and indeed at the moment the rest of the world.
We had a different chap climbing the pole outside today. Not as beautiful as the angelic one (what a difference a few years and quite a few pounds can make!) but he too had a cheerful grin and was pleased to be waved to, and we didn’t feel idle just sitting watching him, there’s not much else we can do at the moment. I hate the hooks/shoes they use to climb the poles though, they look cruel somehow, I think they must remind me of Strewwel Peter which I’ve always disliked.
Namsnanny that is a lovely photo of the Seville orange tree, it must have been a big tree to be able to stand underneath it like that.
