I’m a bit later tonight. Phone call from our eldest daughter, the Yorkshire Lass. Chatted for over an hour! Jeepers. Then I received an email from a friend and replied. Consequently late to eat .... honestly how can time pass so quickly seemingly doing nothing?

Gorgeous photo Namsnanny I love the way the gorgeous blue sky is captured between those leaves on the orange tree. Isn’t nature just beautiful? We sometimes forget to stand and stare.

Right, I’m off to make a cuppa as Horlicks isn’t until 10pm. Not that I’m a creature of habit mind.

Evening all! Been sewing today while DH has been doing useful things, like fitting new toilet seats. Getting bored with choosing meals and particularly breakfasts. Any suggestions for low carb breakfasts please?

What a full day! Two high points.

Mya, our dog, got through the night. First one for 10 days. Hope poop problems are disappearing.

THEN, we both had a text from the surgery. Vaccinations next Thursday 17:00. Thought we'd have to wait till mid February. We're 71 and 72. Two more centres have opened.

The way things are going throughout the country the vast majority of us in the kitchen will have received our first vaccine by mid February. I would not like to have to organise it.
muse that is a start if Mya got through one night. Take good care of her today- it has been a long haul for the little mite.

N&G I do hope that Sam had an undisturbed night also- the antibiotics should be kicking in and hopefully his lump will be drying up.

My first Pfizer yesterday. Great organisation, nhs and local volunteers at their best. We had a curry take away from the excellent South Indian food restaurant down the road. Almost as good as actually going out

soop, is BT the only internet provider in Kintyre? Are there other subscribers who are having similar difficulties? Or do some people subscribe to satellite services like Sky and Freesat? You might tell BT that you are considering cancelling your subscription and going over to another provider. Sometimes that galvanises them into action...if they even care!

I am so sorry you are still without Internet soop. I would rather my car didn't start!
My BiL was telling us yesterday that in the Peak District they don't have internet where they are and rely on 4G.
Often the problem isn't with the provider annodomini but Openreach who serve for all the providers.

Apart from yoghurt and fruit or an omelette, sorry, no suggestions - it's January, it's winter and it's cold so carbs are comforting at the moment. I had muffins this morning.

Thank you Charleygirl5. Wish I could say Mya had another poop free night but no. With the vet not knowing what is causing it, I'm doing a process of elimination. 24 hr abstain from food but lots of water. Then put her on several small amount of food the vet recommended.

Just back from a very wet walk with her. Gave up in places. Never mind the deep puddles. There are deep muddy places too.

Puzzler61 - love tulips. Can't wait for mine to appear. Got snowdrops at the moment.

If DD's dogs had upset tums she would feed them plain cooked pasta.

Not much happening here today, DH has is just back from his vaccine appointment so he’s quite chirpy and has gone into the kitchen to make some fruity flapjacks that DGD asked for yesterday. Although I think that’s what she asked for when she said those chewy things that grandad makes
I’m just enjoying a very lazy afternoon ......

My DGS just rang to say they are getting a puppy at Easter.He is so excited and they are going to call it Boris!
Chinese takeaway tonight something to look forward too on such a dreary day.Hope the poorly dogs are feeling a bit better today.

Puzzler I recall returning from a party long, long ago singing 'Tip toe through the tulips' ^out of tune.

Not much to report. No word from the engineer who told us he'd call yesterday.
Went for a walk to the shop in a bitterly cold wind. Dropped bag containing eggs. Broke two.
Was greatly cheered by swathes of snowdrops. No matter what, those wee flowers never disappoint.

Will mount exercise bike and pedal for 30 minutes.

Have dismounted and am all of a rosy glow sweaty. Away to freshen up. Read paper and look forward to the 9 o'clock G&T.

My thoughts remain with all of you who need tender loving care including *N&G and dear Sam.

I expect you already know this Muse but have you tried giving Mya plain cooked chicken and rice for a few days? The vet told us to give it to our previous spaniel whenever she was unwell with an upset tum - or the other end!

A bitterly cold wind here too, just back from a walk and it was freezing.

muse, one of my (many) rescues had awful gastric problems in the shelter, where he lived for six weeks. The vet who looked after him there, was our vet. He offered us free treatment and advice for the first six months. He suspected the dog had suffered something like untreated parvovirus. What worked - bland diet, initially boiled white rice with boiled chicken or white fish. Serve the rice in its cooking water, starch to line the tummy. Plain boiled pasta. Move gradually as he improves onto tinned chappie. We kept him on crappie for weeks until he is tum was settled then gradually moved onto good kibble. I’ve followed this regime with all my subsequent Dogs. I’m more adventurous now, discovered scrambled eggs mixed with a little water are another bland aid

He said - "what with our knees? Anyway, it would be one more thing for you to trip over".

My yet another day of not much turned with a phone call, at least an hour, with a good friend. Catch up on who knows what, because we’ve not done anything and real out loud laughing, joyous.
I’m biting my tongue regarding BT or I’ll get banned, almost worth it, but my days would be much duller without you lot ?. I’ve thrown a chicken casserole together, said casserole with new potatoes, carrots and cauli will be served later and we’re watching one of the many football games this weekend. Sam sends you many thanks for the good wishes. He does seem brighter this evening. The antibiotics are definitely working . He does now have a huge hard matted lump covering the back of his neck so on Monday I think the vet may decide to remover the cyst sac to stop this reoccurring.

We know he feels a little better because he ate his dinner ( bit like Grampy really :-) )

Muse Hope mya is doing better ? Sam is prone to a tricky tummy and we go back to basics when that happens, white rice, fish etc .

I agree about the Chappie IAM . Our vet in Germany said it was mostly fish if I recall and the least nutritious dog food but good for poorly tummies.

So all is good here in windy Norfolk this evening.
