Welcome dear Kitcheners. I shall pour the cocktails. Make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the wonderous food provided in the buffet.
Now that you all have a place to relax, I shall leave you to enjoy your first evening in this truly special kitchen.

Oh dear Galen I do hope you are back home soon.
Don’t believe it! I’ve just had a very nice lunch. Cottage pie followed by pineapple in natural juice.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Hope to be home in a day or two
They must have read your post Galen and made sure you had an edible lunch.
Good!
Afternoon all, haven't posted for a while so I have some catching up to do with everyone's doings.
Lovely photos of your little ones soop. A lovely smiley picture of Lottie too kitty
I am sorry to hear that you are in hospital Galen and I hope that you will be homeward bound soon.
Sad to hear of the the loss of your lovely cat Nouba GrandmaFrench, I hope he didn't suffer. So hard to lose a much loved pet.
How is Sam N&G?
Good news here, our surgery phoned at 12.30 to say that Mr Lins and I can have our vaccines this afternoon at 4.25. That was totally out of the blue, we thought that we would have to wait weeks yet. I was out walking our little dog Sam, luckily Mr Lins was in and not up the shed.
Re CNY N&G we have a Chinese meal from M&S called an ' Ox Box' courtesy of our daughter, looking forward to it, a treat.
Best wishes to Cherry, Susan and all, thinking of the Panaches too, in fact TOYA
Goodness*Galen*. Get healed soon and back home. Cottage pie sounds very tasty. Nothing to report at Batty Towers. Ten inches of snow has rendered me housebound. It's very slowly melting so tomorrow I'll attempt to clear some of it. It's a bit scunnersome as the car will need dug out. Suffice it to say, I'm fed up of it! I'm longing for warmer days. Have a good day all.
Galen, I also wanted to send my best wishes. I had a T4 and T7 fracture years ago and walked about for months with them. The pain was unbearable. I hope the pain eases soon. I had vertoboplasty to stabilise them.
Get better soon Galen?
Just had some good news my Policeman son is getting his jab tomorrow,I’m so pleased let’s hope all front line workers get get one soon.
The sun is shining but so cold stay safe and warm everyone.
Galen Dear lady, please obey the medics. Eat your food. Rest in a cosy bed. And us lot send our best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
Lins Bravo! The more of us lot who get the precious vaccinations, the better we'll feel.
Lots of people being vaccinated, really good news.
Oh blimey galen, sorry you’re in a pickle again. Sounds as if you’ll be home soon though and the food may just have improved. Be good now if you can, get well soon.
A very cold and what you might call bracing beach walk this morning before our grocery click and collect. Certainly good for cobweb eviction as has been this afternoons dust removal. Must get on and finish as I have no desire to do so tomorrow.
Take care everyone.
Puzzler That is a colourful, smile inducing jigsaw puzzle.
Nannytopsy I am beginning to think that "our cat" isn't the same feline that traipses all those miles between feeds. It remains a mystery nevertheless.
Kitty You certainly know how to please Lottie. She is a lovely girl.
Our granddaughter, mother of Teddy, is thirty today. I shall share a photo taken of the pair of us thirty years ago. How time flies!
A super sunny day. No snow. Chilly breeze. Skitty sea.
Slept like a log last night after all the logging.
Day like yours soop. Can't see it but I expect the Cornish sea is skittish too. Promised myself a drive and do a short trek on the south west trail with Mya.
Galen Lots of rest. Sounds painful but hope this disappears soon.
Big Yorkshire pudding planned for tonight.
Get well soon Galen that meal sounds much better. I’ve just been for a walk, it’s cold, mostly sun with the odd cloud, said cloud showered me with a snow flurry as I returned home! Soop that photo reminds me of this one, also 30 years ago, the look on my daughters face shows her realisation she’s no longer the only one!
muse Yorkshire pud with meaty gravy? Don't mind if I do.
Galen! I'm very sorry to hear that you've landed in hospital after yet another fall. Hospital food is pretty dire. I can't forget a cauliflower/pasta bake in which I couldn't distinguish which was which. I hope the egg sandwich was a one-off and that your next meal lives up to the cottage pie. What a pity we can't send you some goodies from this kitchen.
Some lovely photos on here today, I especially like the unicorn lollipop kitty my 6 year old DGD is into everything Unicorn just now
Hoping your feeling much better soon Galen and you’re back home soon ?
I’m just back from a snowy walk in the woods so just having a rest with a nice hot mug of tea to warm up before going to make something to eat later ...
Goodness, soop you look more like her Mum than her Granny!
The one pigeon which visited the garden today turned up his beak at my fruit bread. He can't have been hungry.
Jaxjacky - love it!
Callistemon That's gratitude for you.
Jax that picture paints a thousand words. You look stunning.
It is a marvellous end of day. The clouds are like ribbons hanging over the islands. All pastel colours, soft and dreamy.
My best wishes to all our poorly Kitcheners. Do take things at an easy, laid-back pace. I hope that we can exchange news again tomorrow.
The cat is back.

‘Evening All’
?
Lots of lovely photos to look at! Thanks to all for sharing.
Today, just before 11am in the middle of Urmston town centre of all places Himself said to me “shh, can you hear bagpipes playing?”.
I thought he’d lost the plot.
We opened the verandah door to stand on the balcony and sure enough, a lone piper - kitted out most impressively in a pale green tartan kilt, black velvet jacket and all the accoutrements was indeed playing. A funeral cortège was lined up behind him as they all slowly followed behind as he walked in front of the hearse. From our side we could see white flowers that said ‘Nana’ beside the coffin. It brought a lump to my throat listening to the piper and watching the poignant procession. Never before around here.
Himself had his AZ jab today. He said the vaccinator said to him ‘now don’t you be running about for your wife today sir”. As if! Nice try though ...
?
Wishing everybody here a peaceful night ahead. I hope you have a full tummy Galen and can sleep well. x
‘Goodnight All’.
Sorry you`re in hospital Galen, hope your meals continue to improve. When I was hospitalised after fracturing L3 and L4, the food was surprisingly good, the only thing they fell down on was ice cream, it`s brought along with everything else, but doesn`t melt because it`s soft already, and tastes nothing like ice cream.
We had no extra snow last night, but what was left froze over. Today it looked to be gradually disappearing, till this evening when it snowed again, there`s about an inch so far.
I was supposed to go to Nottingham City Hospital tomorrow for an echocardiogram, but in these weather conditions I don`t think it`s fair to ask Dawn to drive the 70 miles each way, so I have cancelled and have a new appointment for March 24th.
I love those photos Soop and Jaxjacky. There`s a pic somewhere from our local paper from when I had baby 3 on New Years Day, 1967, but it`s disappeared over the years. Wish I could find it or get a copy.
OMG Galen the only good thing that came out of this is that you have not had to have surgery. When I saw you had been admitted after a fall immediately I thought of #neck of femur. Hopefully you are getting plenty of rest and decent pain relief.
TOYA
Goodness Galen sorry to hear you’ve had another fall. I Hope the hospital is taking good care of its VIP visitor. Hope you get home soon.
Lovely photos all. Lots of snow around.
Hope everyone is keeping safe.
TOYA ?
Urmstongran, your story of the lone Piper at the funeral brought a lump to my throat. Very moving. When my daughter got married she had a Piper play Highland Cathedral as she walked down the aisle. I managed, just, not to weep.
Just popping in to say hello as I recover from my long day on nanna duty with a camomile and spearmint tea in my favourite mug. Galen I'm so sorry to hear you are in hospital - lots of rest needed. My very best wishes to everyone else under the weather or with other troubles. DD1 who is a ward sister tells me the covid cases are dropping in her hospital but they still have TWICE as many cases as they did at the worst peak in April last year. So although we are going in the right direction I think that tells us we still have a way to go. Stay safe lovely people
