Grandmafrench. My physical health is good but the joints play up some days. I battle daily with my thumb joints) Walking with Mya helps the hips (one is a replacement).
Soop. Sorry to hear about your friend's son. A close friend of ours lost his younger brother during the first lockdown through suicide, He had a history of depression but the circumstances will never leave our thoughts.
Love the photos Soop. I wish MrM and I could turn the clock back 30 years. That's MrM's problem, he wants to do what he could do back then and he's a perfectionist. This year (he's now 72) he is starting to admit he gets tired quickly. We had a carpenter do the major part of our build. It's a timber framed and timber clad building. MrM wanted to do all the services himself. Primarily it was because it helped us keep to budget but he has the knowledge. The weather has held us up since last September but now (more fingers and toes crossed) we have two people coming soon to help us with drainage and water supply work. They just have to finish projects they are involved with. The weather has been a problem on and off from day one. Foundation trenches dug, concrete poured and the rains came. Clay soil.
MrSoop's purple undies reminded me of our roof trusses 
. Two other photos are from the time we fell out with the carpenter. He'd order untreated wood for the trusses. Two friends were visiting us for a long weekend so we spent the whole time spraying them. Pink dye added to show what had been sprayed.

I am in awe of you people building your own homes and would just like to ask if any of you fancy plastering our hall ceiling? Our plasterer is very difficult to contact!

Grandmabatty Purple is a royal colour, 'though not necessarily smeared on furniture. Mr Soop has inspected his lavender underwear. (A red top ran in the wash and dyed his pastel blue pants) he didn't appear to be bothered.
dustyangel Mr Soop is a retired architect. We therefore planned the wee hoos wishing for a compact, manageable space with plenty of storage. We should have paid more attention to creating the garden. If we had known how "cranky" our joints would become, we'd have had more paved areas. It's a back breaker at the height of summer.
mumofmadboys Doodle will enlighten you. I also miss that lady.
In future, Doodle please do not stay away so long. You were missed.
Yiayia If we had a boat, and if we were sailors, we'd have gladly sailed the Ionian. That must have been a priceless experience.
Nannytopsy Very soon, us lot will all have had the vaccine that will hopefully protect us from the worst of the dratted virus. I'm pleased that you've not suffered an adverse reaction. Those who do, usually find that it's short lived.

brook When we lived in Cornwall, we converted a warehouse and a hay loft. The hay loft became an upside down house. Living room under the rafters. When we first started work in it, Mr Soop caught a nasty virus carried in rat droppings (the GP thought).
Puzzler I cannot get the thought of that young man who committed suicide out of my mind. Such a waste. He already had the offer of a job that he wanted. He had studied and left university with top grades. His poor family. They must be heartbroken.
