That is a stunning sky Soop. All visible purple has been eradicated. Red icing on my pale rug ( what was I thinking?) nearly gone
Good Morning Wednesday 12th August 2026
Craig and Lindsay Foreman end their hunger strike in prison in Iran.
Here we are again...
Happy as can be in the circumstances
All good pals and jolly good company.
WELCOME dear kitcheners, old and new.
That is a stunning sky Soop. All visible purple has been eradicated. Red icing on my pale rug ( what was I thinking?) nearly gone
Wonderful photos as always Soop.
So sad to hear of that young man what a tragedy.
Good afternoon from a breezy but mild mid Notts. Thank you for all your lovely comments about our (probably not) upcoming wedding. I've spent ages going over dates when we need to send things to the register office by etc etc and I honestly think it's probably not going to be on 13th May. But we are only a tiny party of 10 plus DDG so I'm going to wait for our venue to contact me. I've had an email saying they are working through everyone. So it is fingers and everything else crossed while we wait and see!! Some beautiful photos again soop - thank you for sharing with us all. Mac and cheese for dinner tonight so I think I've got time to enjoy my cup of camomile and spearmint and knit a few more rows. Virtual hugs to all you lovely people in need and everyone stay safe
Afternoon All. Can I just sit quietly please?
Warning, I'm going to offload a bit, hope thats OK. In the last two months I have had two unexpected health diagnoses which re worrying poor Mr C. As of lunch time today guess what, I have a third rapidly followed by a fourth which will involve invasive testing, oh joys. I remain convinced all will be resolved, not overly worried just worn down with appointments and people prodding me. I know, I'm an ungrateful soul, NHS at its best.
We've also been squashed because our much loved daughter in law lost a very wanted baby at 13 weeks, all very traumatic for them at the time. We've been so sad and oh so frustrated we couldn't go to see them. She's still poorly as a result, hard not to worry. I'll stay here for a while, a quiet sit will sort me out I'm sure.
Your photos are food for the soul, soop, very relaxing to see. Its not an easy time to be arranging anything bladeannie, you're doing well.
Jolly chilly here today, just had a short walk and was pleased to get back in out of the wind. It's Mr C's birthday tomorrow, his requested food in the fridge, a local NT booked for a walk hopefully with daffodils, the forecast is more hopeful and so are we.
Take care everyone. Sorry to moan a bit. TOYA
To marydoll and anyone who is interested...I put recipe for microwave dumpling on the good morning Wednesday chat. Hope you find it and enjoy it
Oh cornergran, I am so sad for your daughter I remember how devastated my daughter was, losing a baby at much the same stage - I know I didn’t realise how painful it is, but I soon learned. At least I had the comfort of being able to be with her. I’m sure she will feel your love around her, even if you can’t actually be with her physically.
I hope all your health worries prove to be short lived and not too onerous. What a time you’re having.
Have a lovely walk tomorrow, the signs of spring will hopefully cheer you.
?
cornergran There is absolutely no need to apologise. I'm also very sorry to hear all your news. Your daughter-in-law will be feeling heartbroken and you, the person who would give her the comfort and understanding she needs, cannot be with her. You have many problems to contend with. All that we can do is be here for you whenever you need our company. Please may you discover that your health problems can be managed and resolved.
Give MrC a birthday hug from us lot. I hope that the sun shines and the spring flowers help to raise your spirits.
I shall log of until tomorrow. The rain is falling. There won't be a colourful sunset tonight. We certainly have more than our fair share.
I am hoping to hear news from N&G sometime soon.

cornergrann what a raft of not the best news in quick succession, a comfy chair and a cuddle is yours. Your heart must bleed for your daughter, it’s just not fair is it and all the worse for restrictions, I can only hope slowly all improves ?.
soop glorious pictures, thank you. BladeAnnie I can only add my crossed fingers and toes with you, ??.
First jab done earlier.
See you later all, oh PS hope all the four legged friends are fine.
Log off. Not log of.
So sorry to hear of your daughter and your health worries Cornergran.
Sending healing thoughts to you both??
Oh cornergran please don’t apologise , you’re definitely not moaning. It’s so sad for your daughter in law and the family, no words really that I can say but hoping she’s feeling a little bit better soon. Also, I hope your own health issues are quickly resolved and your mind put at rest. Enjoy your day with your DH tomorrow, you deserve it
‘Evening All’
?
We spent a lovely couple of hours this afternoon with my stepfather. I had a wee dram or two (it’s Wednesday hurrah!) but Himself was limited to ‘just the one’ as he’s my chauffeur.
✅
Funny you should ask about Maw momb as she and I have just been exchanging emails this past hour! And with lovely photograph sharing of our grandchildren. It was really nice to see her 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. I cannot believe ‘baby’ Otis will be 2 years old next month!
?
She is in good spirits I’m happy to report, having spent time with 3 of her grandchildren in half term last week.
I do miss her being on here though amongst us all.
On that note I shall wish you all a very pleasant and peaceful night ahead. x
‘Goodnight All’.
Apologies cornergran I did mean to say that I’m sorry to hear you have health issues at present and hope all comes to nought. Sadness too within your family over the miscarriage. I’m sure being here amongst friends is a comfort because we do care. x
Hello wonderful Kitcheners. How sorry to hear about your DIL, corner. Happy days will follow - of course they will. For now though, it's terribly sad that you cannot be close to comfort her. And as for you? You should be moaning at all of us at least until you are all sorted out. So sad that your bad news seems to have arrived in a big pile! Hopefully it's not bad bad, just making you both anxious and this when you are already fed up with not being able to behave normally and seek the reassurance you would normally have from friends and family. Keep going, you. It will be o.k. ?
Very shocked to hear such sad news about a young person who just couldn't cope. Such a waste, always, and truly awful for family and friends. May he RIP.
Everyone sounds really busy. Caught up with the posts but of course can't remember them all. A couple of comments I do recall ! Frogs don't out talk me, young Barry - what are you like?! They can certainly bring any conversation to an end with their shouting, though. I was helping with the hedging this afternoon and a couple sneaked down near my shoulder and decided to have a catch up. They all have small berets and speak Frog, of course, soop. (And the first one who shouts 'racist', will be on the norty step!!!!) I love them, but at this time of year especially, I think that they are best described as "raucous".
I'm going to copy that dumpling recipe, polo. Obviously not the best thing for a diet (which I have yet to re-start) but sounds tasty. I do love trying new things to eat. Wonder if my food obsession will lessen once we are all let loose again? Or maybe, I'll just head straight for the patisserie and to hell with the consequences.
Muse don't despair over your house. Combination of the weather and cash and - well - Life, is enough to make anyone give up and give in. You'll get there. Glad to hear that Mya sounds like she's getting better.
Have a smashing evening all you lovely lot. Off for my supper, TOYA and hugs ?♀️xx
Cornergran I am so sorry to hear about your health worries and about your dd's miscarriage. What a dreadful time you are having. All we can do is listen and support you from afar. I hope you have support in real life.
Thank you for the update Urmston. She is very much missed on this forum.
Grandmafrench you make me laugh at the antics of the French frogs. I'm having a quiet night watching the little Belgian sleuth. Have a good evening all.
Lovely sky soop. Always lovely photos from you. I enjoyed the building ones too
Corner I have PMd you.
Urms lovely to hear you have been in touch with Maw. Please pass on much love from me and good to hear about the Grandchildren.
Take care all TOYA ?
Urmston thanks for update on Maw we’d exchanged a couple of messages, shame it didn’t continue, please say she’s missed and being thought of, thank you.
I will indeed Jaxjacky and Doodle.
Such a loss to most of us. Plus, although she tried a new site, she couldn’t settle into it - trying to get to ‘know’ a whole other big group.
?
cornergran I hope your own health worries turn out to be insignificant and feel very sad for your daughter in law and son.
Thanks for your update on maw Urms , it’s good to know she’s doing well ?
Just popped in with sympathy and hope for Cornergran
What a lot to deal with all on top of each other.
I hope all the health issues are swiftly dealt with and that your DiL recovers.
I think many of us have dealt with that scenario with our children and you feel so helpless as we can’t make it better as we mostly could when they were young.
Thinking of everyone else and wishing you all a Good Night.
Thank you everyone. I’m more settled now, just had a wobbly this afternoon. Onwards and upwards now.
TOYA.
Mr.M has just passed me a mini Magnum so one hand to type with.
Looking like my 70th celebration holiday that should have been in 2020 then 2021, is now going to be 2022. Hotel's going to ring me.
Mya's on her 4th good day all round. I wasn't up in time for the morning poop
. Early alarm necessary.
Thank you messages about the build. Fingers crossed for a Christmas house warming party. 2021 that is.
Sad news Cornergran. Wobblies are allowed. Stand by for the virtual huge hugs from us all.
Sad news Corner and best wishes for your own health worries.
We came up bed only to find that although I had stripped the bed, I had completely forgotten about remaking it. I just hate it when that happens! ?
We emptied the shed, cleaned all the garden furniture and put everything back neatly today ?. Smug!
Sleep well everyone x
Hope your health worries turn out not to be too serious Corner. I often notice your posts as I grew up in Somerset, Taunton, to be precise. Is it a first baby your DD has lost? I hope she feels a bit brighter soon. We lost our first at 32 weeks and it was a very sad time.
