Susan, so sorry to hear that, so terribly sad.

I hear that hairdressers in Wales can open on Monday, but doubt if I'd get away with driving right across Cheshire to get to the border. My hair is a mop! I think we have to wait another four weeks - April 12th seems to be the magic date.
Susan, sorry to hear of all your bad news. Everything is magnified by our current situation. Maybe... just maybe, things will soon look better.
Grandmabatty, hope your bad reaction is waning now. My sister had the same experience and was fine within a couple of days. Her husband, who had the jag at the same time, had no reaction at all. My DiL had the A-Z today, so perhaps I will hear how/if she has reacted. I'm waiting for Pfizer no2 - first time was no worse than a sore arm for two days.

Sorry to hear your sad news Susan that is a lot to deal with.

Kevin looks as naughty as 9pence as my Nan used to say. He's a keeper Ann.

We have made it through another day without Sam removing his stitches but its been touch and go. He is feeling lots better as evidenced by his desire to go out into the garden which he's not allowed to do except to do his business.

I cannot wait for his stitches to come out next Thursday !!

Today’s delight was a doorstep visit from DD and the two GC’s dropping a card in, gorgeous flowers were delivered half an hour ago. A swift walk today, it felt cold so quick steps, we were watching football, heavy hail in London. Spicy cottage pie made for dinner and Tesco’s delivered with no subs, we’ll have a drink in a minute. Take care all.

Uplifting update from N&G and our boy, Sam. Keep up the good work, we are very fond of you.

I had a mad moment earlier this afternoon. Spent a couple of hours foraging through the lower shelves of a book case on which I've been placing oddments and magazines (dozens of them) that did nowt but collect dust. Then, into the music room come studio, where I filled a huge cardboard box with "stuff" that has no purpose...other than to collect more dust.
Tomorrow's task is to start clearing the wardrobes of clothing, some new, that may never be worn. Clutter-bugs! Me. Time for change. Clear the decks. Do something useful.

The sun is shining. It has been a grey wet day. Suddenly the islands have emerged from behind a curtain of mist. I am hoping that the sun puts in an appearance for you. I shall raise my glass of Saturday night G&T to wish you well. I have to wait until the magical hour of nine. It's a sort of house-rule. Not always adhered to.

I shall return to our kitchen tomorrow. Thank you, as always, for your company.

Today has been really cold here in Inverness, sunny but with a cold wind and occasional sleety showers. We’ve been at Brodie Castle most of the day with DD2 and two DGC, 6 and 7. They thoroughly enjoyed the playground and spent ages on the zip wire and the climbing frame whilst we stood around getting chillier and chillier? Home now for a lazy tea of pizza and a large glass of ?... I admire you waiting until the magical hour of 9pm soop, unfortunately I just can’t wait ...

Ann Kevin looks gorgeous and very obedient.

N&G I am so pleased that Sam is feeling better but Thursday is a long way away when you cannot explain to the little man why he has to stay indoors. I hope the itchiness calms down.

Such sad news Susan56. Pleased you have many around for support.

We had rain, wind, hail and sun by 9:30am. However, I managed to get a long walk with Mya early afternoon without getting wet. Drenched the past two days.

Long chat with daughter when I got back. She's sounding so positive despite her ex continuing to be very unresponsive about support for their daughter.

Parcel and two envelopes for me in our post box today

All Sainsbug's delivery arrived yesterday so it's ribs, jacket potato and coleslaw (with added extras) in half and hour. Pud are 2 mini syrup sponges with my custard. Enjoying a glass of very dry rose. I was going to get the sole gin out for a first taste. Elderflower tonic in the delivery. That will be for Mum's day tomorrow.

Ann, Kevin is gorgeous, but I`m not too keen on his name.
Feeling very low at the moment, Mia went out at around 5pm yesterday, and still hasn`t returned, and she`s not done that before. I`m beginning to have bad feelings about it. I`ve notified our vet, plus 2 other vets, and myself, and 2 of my daughters have been for walks around to look for her, to no avail.

Susan - so sorry to hear all this sad news.

Hellogirl I am praying for you that Mia returns home safely.
Molly has never been out for longer than a few hours, usually 20 mins, but I know just how worried I have been.
My D has 3 cats and one was missing for about 36 hours, they were all distraught and posted on Facebook, got the vets involved, and the little s.d walked in as though it was normal.
Having said that it was several days before she went out again, she must have been shut in somewhere.
Susan so sorry for you all for the fact that you have been through so much sadness, it is nice to see you posting again, you are amongst friends and support.
TO everyone else, awful weather here today and for the last few days , it is now pouring down and windy.

Almost too late to post really. The late afternoon and then evening just got away with me. A slip and cut lip for the baby of our family on the playpark. A fat swollen upper lip. Mummy said Calpol and a cuddle once home but it upset me. We received a bedtime FaceTime from them which reassured me. Ah well, all’s well that ends well.

I think some of us have migrated here as the ‘sister thread’ to Mick’s GM one. It’s similar, gentle and caring.

That said, I’m sure it must be daunting to all you regulars to sift through us all, hoping to keep up to date with the core, cosy group. I do hope joining hasn’t spoilt anything, that would be awful. A bit like recommending a quiet, unspoilt holiday venue - to discover the following year that so many new holidaymakers have unwittingly changed the whole character of the place.

You’ve had a sad time susan, the ripples from covid are horrendous.

It’s been an OK day here. Covid test was straightforward once we found the testers. Wasn’t expecting a private ambulance in a tiny car park. The test happened through the car window which was good for me, less so for their person having to stand in the wind and rain. I really must find a purpose tomorrow, just faffing with emails today. Please send some of your focus soop, it would do me no harm to get stuck in to something - anything.

Kevin is definitely cute ann, would love one of ours to have a dog so I could borrow it . Thursday will soon come n&g, hope Sam is more comfortable tomorrow

It is a dry if cold day here today. I am having a man pop in later to give me quotes on various jobs which have been stacking up. I have a feeling I may need a seat when he tells me. This house owning lark is not cheap.

Soop I am impressed at your decluttering energy. I have been promising myself I will do the children's room but have yet to get started.

I think the kitchen is a bit like Dr Who's Tardis Urms it simply expands to fit everyone in. I like it because it lets me dip in and out and kindness is guaranteed here .

Sam is doing well this morning , even going so far as to drink from his water bowl- the first time for a week !

Afternoon tea being delivered from our local café this afternoon as a celebration of Mothers Day . The little boys sent me a gift- I'll add a picture ;-)

I had been helping DGS with his homework over lockdown and when he went back to school on Monday they all had to make a card to a female they admire for International Women's Day, and he did one for me to thank me for doing the schoolwork with him! Bless!

My S who keeps everything close to his chest and has been known to not even wish me Happy Birthday when living with us ,has taken me completely by surprise today by leaving me a basket full of sauces, jams and chutneys.

Lucky me had flowers and some very good looking chocolates the oscopy food limitations only allow me to admire.

It’s always a mixed day for me. 30 years ago on Mothering Sunday I sat with my Mum as she was dying. I know, it’s a long while ago but no matter the date Mothering Sunday always brings sadness.

How lovely to get that card lucky, he’s a thoughtful and appreciative boy. As to your boys n&g they never fail to bring a smile. Good news about Sam. Real progress.
