Started watching this new series Gregg Wallace travels to different places for weekends. It’s a bit like Rick Steins weekends but Gregg is so down to earth. This week he was in Rome his enthusiasm is obvious and he is really quite funny. This week he visited a pastry shop that serves everything sweet for breakfast. He was sampling little pastries while saying how much he had sweet tooth.
It was so funny he had icing sugar and fresh cream all over his nose. He is a nice enough guy what I like is his non pretentious attitude. It’s a nice programme and makes you yearn for a trip abroad.

Gordon Ramsey on for four nights this week, I really despair, this is what my TV license goes towards?

DH and I are watching Greg Wallace in Rome and shouting at the screen! ? Purporting to be a historian and saying he knows it well. No he doesn't!!!

He was standing right beside our hotel, how dare he rub it in, that I can't go there! ?

Gordon Ramsay owns the TV production company Studio Ramsay .

Heavens above! even putting Gregg Wallace in the same sentence as Rick Stein is a step too far for me. Great fan of the latter and the former.........well best to say, just not my cup tea, and do my best to avoid any programme he's in.

Detest Gordon Ramsay, horrible bully of a man.

I think Ramsay created/came up with the idea for the show.

No worries Georgesgran as you say - great minds smile

Georgesgran Sun 21-Feb-21 17:42:35

Sorry *sodapop’. Great minds?

Rosalyn69 Sun 21-Feb-21 17:42:32

I don’t find Greg Wallace fun. Can’t stand the man.

Georgesgran Sun 21-Feb-21 17:41:40

Is it an oxymoron!!

Greg Wallace - fun?

sodapop Sun 21-Feb-21 16:04:27

Yes why is Ramsay taking on this role which he is so patently unsuited to. I think its on more than once a week as well. Maybe he needs the money grin

Hard to decide which is worse a 'fun' weekend with the barrow boy or a game show with a potty mouthed ex chef.

Nothing on Earth would get me to watch anything with Gordon Ramsey in it.

LaRia44 Sun 21-Feb-21 15:22:59

Can’t stand Greg Wallace, but I really wanted to see Rome.
He wasn’t too bad. I too avoided seeing him on Jeremy Vine, couldn’t bear to see him exercising.
I don’t like John Torode or Jeremy Vine. Both think highly of themselves IMO.

Hijack it Calendargirl I am sorry I started it!

Calendargirl Sun 21-Feb-21 12:47:35

Sorry to hijack the I Hate Gregg thread, but it involves another tv chef.

The awful Gordon Ramsey about to host yet another game show. In the trailers, he sounds so wooden. Obviously the cheffing is losing its appeal.

sodapop Sun 21-Feb-21 12:46:36

An oxymoron surely grin

Marydoll Sun 21-Feb-21 12:08:57

I do know that they filmed the cat sanctuary, which is outside our hotel, which we have been going to for over twenty years. I felt my eyes filling up, so many happy memories and missing friends. ?

Kate1949 Sun 21-Feb-21 11:51:54

Marydoll It shows Rome in all its beautiful glory. If you don't like Gregg, try to ignore him. grin
It made me sad as Rome was 'on our list' but we may never go now.

Marydoll Sun 21-Feb-21 11:32:51

Yuk, Yuk, Yuk!!!

Grannynannywanny Sun 21-Feb-21 11:32:02

He’s not content at sticking to food related programmes. I saw him last week on one of the morning tv programmes demonstrating his physical exercise routine.

He was topless to show off his toned physique ?

MerylStreep Sun 21-Feb-21 11:27:54

How did someone selling fruit & veg get so lucky? Plus the fact that most people detest him.

Luckylegs Sun 21-Feb-21 11:26:53

No, no, no! Wouldn’t watch anything with him in!

FannyCornforth Sun 21-Feb-21 11:24:18

ixion

Marydoll Just mute the sound!

But she will still have to see him envy

Grannynannywanny Sun 21-Feb-21 11:22:28

I’m afraid Gregg Wallace is enough to put me off watching it. I find his manner and over exaggerated facial expressions such a turn off.

grannysyb Sun 21-Feb-21 11:21:31

We turn any programme if if he is in it, can't bear him!

25Avalon Sun 21-Feb-21 11:19:26

BlueBelle I am sat here cringing at the thought!
