Good morning Mick and all his followers. Best wishes for your hospital trip tomorrow Mick and for tonight Bellasnana . You seem very organised Pittcity -all the best tomorrow.
It’s blowing a gale here too, in Suffolk. There is a bit of rain about but not much. I keep watching next door’s fence, wondering when it’s going to land in our garden. Will it take out my new greenhouse?
Thoughts of a visit to a garden centre today but I may not, if the wind doesn’t drop.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very windy, but mild and (so far) sunny Oxfordshire.
Bed changing day here as well today, we have a builders sign by our front door that must have been blown down the Lane andover the hedges in the night, so I might take that back to the people having their hose done, because today we are finally out of quarantine!! well this afternoon as DD has been home for 7 days from hospital.
It will make such a difference to our day to day lives (not) and now we are just in ordinary lockdown........
Have a good day and to those who are suffering physically or who are just worn out mentally, my very best wishes.

Good Morning from a blustery wet N. Bucks.
DH will be back from his Mums late morning so if the weather has improved we will have a short walk.
I think I will make a light fruit cake as I’m in the mood for baking.
Need to bee home for a medical ‘phone call this afternoon .

Hope you all find a ? today.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. There’s a watery brightness in the sky, it could go either way methinks.

DGD’s 11th birthday today, she was a baby when I joined Gransnet. They live just 25 minutes from us but in another local authority area so we haven’t been able to see them.

Pleased to hear that MrGaga is improving.

Disappointing for you Bellasnana, sometimes I wonder if we’re ever going to get out of this. Like others I long for normal times.

Ashcombe you must be so looking forward to your next production, I used to be the props person for an amateur group, it was a lot of fun.

Thinking of everyone with worries, sadness or illness and wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Greyduster Thu 11-Mar-21 08:22:24

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is blowing hard and uniformally grey in South Yorkshire. GS goes back to school today so the mile and a half walk will be an unpleasant start to his day unless he can persuade mum to give him a lift!
Yesterday was a cleaning day, but not sure what is on the agenda today. Not gardening or walking at the moment that’s for certain.
Sheep glad to hear your time in the lambing shed is nearly at an end for this year. I’m not sure what counts as “normal” on a busy farm but I hope you get back to it soon and it involves some time putting your feet up!
Pitt good luck with your move - always bittersweet leaving a house full of memories.
Have a good day folks.

Good morning here in Essex it’s still very blustery.

I’m going supermarket shopping today and I’m excited! I haven’t been since before Christmas as no 1 son has been doing for us. He’s been great but my store cupboards are depleted and I just want to wander round and see for myself.

I’ve had two disappointing orders from the big online shop. I’m ordered garden chairs 3 weeks ago which haven’t arrived and now they are lost. I’ve asked for a refund but it’s such a palaver. I hope I get reimbursed ?. The other is a budda incense burner for a friends birthday. It arrived with the presentation box crumpled and broken, and it looks cheap, so that has to go back. Online shopping can be very hit or miss. ?.

Good luck tomorrow Pittcity I wish you every happiness in your new home. ?.

cezzy I hope the neighbour problem has settled down. ?

Sheep you deserve those extra treats. ?

Ashcombe. - I bet you will have so much fun with your upcoming production. ??

Wishing you all a better day, weatherwise, health wise and happiness wise. ?

Good morning from the NE where we have had gale force winds all night.
I wore ear plugs but I was up and down all night to the loo so I was still awake quite a lot, wish DH and I could synchronise, it is a bit like musical beds.
Light housework today and sort the recycling.
Take care if you have to leave the house today.

Litterpicker Thu 11-Mar-21 08:33:16

Good morning from West Sussex. Windy with sunshine here - the barometer in the hall plunged dramatically yesterday.

Mick, I miss train journeys. I used to look forward to trips to London for a gallery visit and catch up with my friend who lives there. Local bus trips for shopping or market too. We have a car but trains and buses are sociable and better for the environment.

Did anyone see The Repair Shop last night? “Pinball” Geoff was wearing a ? jumper!

I was very lazy yesterday so giving myself a shake today. I would love to finish at least one of my many projects (photo sorting etc) before lockdown eases.

Glad to hear Sheepandcattle you are getting back to normal. Hope these stubborn ewes produce soon.

Hoping Marydoll is feeling better today and thinking of Auntieflo and others with illness.

Ellanvannin I was talking with my health visitor daughter about child protection last night on the phone. She is in despair about the lack of support for parents with mental health issues, poor housing etc.

Hope your move goes well Pittcity

Marydoll Thu 11-Mar-21 08:35:58

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where the sun is trying to poke through the clouds.

Thank you all for your good wishes and for missing me! ?
I'm afraid that my RA has been affecting my heart and its beginning to fail, it's a cruel condition. This invidious illness has damaged the tiny blood vessels deep inside my heart and the doctors have run out of options, so the plan is to try and not put too much strain on it. No more mountain climbing nor running marathons for me. ?

I have covered up for so long from my family and friends, how unwell I am, but my cardiologist advised me ages ago to come clean, but it is not easy, as I don't want to upset them. I will soon need more and more support, but asking for help is not in my psyche.
I won't mention it again, but now you will know the reason, if I don't post. Some days seem to be worse than others and yesterday just happened to be one of those bad days.

Today, I plan to sit at the kitchen table and varnish the fairy doors for the garden, I hope you will all approve that is a gentle and relaxing pastime. ? The only problem is, I have been nagging reminding Mr Marydoll for days, to search the garage for the varnish.

My car has now been off the road for nine days, waiting for a part. Only three and a half thousand miles on the clock and it needs an unobtainable part! ? It's not that I'm going anywhere, but DH's car is going in next week for a service and MOT, so I need my car back, as I have medical appointments and we need a car.
I'm hoping for an update today. Fingers crossed.

Jaxjacky, I lost my greenhouse when we had to make room for our extension. We have two flimsy plastic ones, which I found at the side of the house yesterday. I have to plant the seeds for a new one in Mr Marydoll's head. It will be a long and slow process. wink.
The fencing beside our house has come down in the storm, so I shall also have to deal with that today. (Of course, not physically!)

Nannagarra, I don't know if your recipe suggests it, but replacing an oz of flour with cornflour gives a crispier result for Viennese biscuits. I have a fail safe recipe for them, I'm willing to share.

Bellasnanna, I'm so sorry to hear you are back in lockdown. Italy has gone from Ground zero back into lockdown too. Why can't people just follow the rules?

I'm glad to hear better news of your DH, Gaga, hopefully not too long before he is homeme.
Good luck, Dwmxwg with your appraisal today.

Mick, I worry about you going maskless on public transport for your hospital appointment. At least wear a visor. My shielding letters keep reinforcing that for vulnerable people, public transport poses a huge risk of contacting Covid and to avoid buses and trains at all cost.
Could you not ask your brother to take you, or arrange hospital transport, as your vaccination will not have kicked in yet.?

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a very wet and windy Black Country.

Had a walk with a friend yesterday to the park, it was fairly quiet now the children are back in school.

Just had a message from DD, she is having her jab on Saturday, and her DH today. They are 42 and 47. She is a Teacher so I am so relieved!

No real plans (again) for today.

Hope your move goes smoothtly Pittcity

Special thoughts to all feeling unwell or struggling.

NannyJan53 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:38:04

Marydoll flowers and a big hug

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:39:21

Hope your move goes smoothly tomorrow Pittcity

Gagagran fingers crossed your DH is home safe soon.

Just had a FaceTime with DD, a section of the roof of her flats has blown off and the remaining roof is loose and unsafe. She is on the ground floor, Fire Brigade have cordoned off the site and told residents to stay indoors, GS is distraught as he wants to go to school!!!

grandmajet Thu 11-Mar-21 08:41:17

Good morning from a damp and blustery Notts. It was a somewhat unsettled night for me, and I eventually departed to the spare bed with my iPad where I dozed off to a bbc play.
Today I have a CT scan this morning - lucky me - and a zoom call this afternoon with 3 friends with whom I shared a flat in the late sixties! We always have a good chat and are surprised when our 40 minutes is up.
Pittcity, good luck for tomorrow. What an exciting time for you.
It’s interesting to hear tales from other countries of how the pandemic is impacting; Malta, France, Germany, so many people with so many worries in common.
Fingers crossed for the wind to go away and no harm done.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:43:02

Marydoll sending you a (((hug))), it’s difficult to rest when it’s enforced isn’t it? Telling your nearest and dearest gives them the one to help you and your DH.

Grandmabatty Thu 11-Mar-21 08:45:20

Marydoll ?

Good morning from a bright but very windy day in Northampton. I have just had to go out and rescue the full garden waste bin which had blown over.

Some washing planned for today, but won't be hanging it out! And a Sainsbury's delivery at lunchtime. Not much else on but going to try to download Zoom onto my laptop. My brother is being recommissioned into the Church Army tomorrow, and has invited us to join him via Zoom for the service.

Will sew up the jumper I made a couple of weeks ago which has been sitting in the cupboard under the stairs. I had forgotten all about it in the excitement of starting a new cardigan. Have just spied a lovely free summery sweater pattern to download and print so may do that later.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:46:37

Morning from a ‘bright at the moment’ S Lanarkshire but we’ll see. Yesterday was another later read for me and I loved your‘flingaloes’ BlueSaphire!
‘tippling’ rain was another delight Nannagarra even if it was a slip of the finger!
Taichenan I was so sorry to read that you expect to lose the sight in your right eye and admired your brave reaction.
Good luck with your move Pittcity and in your new home.
Sadly, this morning I’ll be joining in online the funeral mass of a friend’s lovely husband. He was a good family man and will be much missed.
Hope you’re feeling a lot better today Marydoll and that everyone has a peaceful day.

dustyangel Thu 11-Mar-21 08:48:00

Goodmotning all. It looks bright and sunny but when looking at the calendar while making a cup of tea I realised I missed a long awaited podiatrist appointment yesterday. I must phone him and grovel and hope he will try to fit me in soon. Catch up later.

Anniebach Thu 11-Mar-21 08:50:15

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Marydoll sending hugs, wretched RA, today my electric
wheelchair is being delivered , I am so anxious about it

Pittcity Thu 11-Mar-21 08:50:56

Thank you all for your good wishes. I am more worried about having my vaccination on Saturday than moving tomorrow. DH is the opposite.

Big gentle hug for Marydoll

Oldbutstilluseful Thu 11-Mar-21 08:53:37

Marydoll, I know I’m not good at writing daily reports as I have very little to talk about, but your post today has touched me deeply. There are so many people on this lovely thread who battle with the problems life throws at them and I know I’m not alone in thinking of you all every day.

Follow doctors orders, keep on keeping on, and remember to be kind to yourself, each and everyone.

? and ?for you all

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:54:01

Anniebach I do hope your wheelchair will make your life easier (((hugs)))

BlueSapphire Thu 11-Mar-21 08:56:23

flowers for Marydoll. Take it very easy, girl! xx

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is calm after the storm. I will go on an inspection for fallen trees as soon as I have had breakfast. First things first.
Your industriousness has inspired me and I shall bake a cake today for BiL and MiL who have birthdays tomorrow and Saturday. I wonder if I can remember how!

I miss public transport Mick it was so good just being able to jump on a bus with my pass and go anywhere.
I hope your hospital trip goes well and.
Bellasnana yours too.

Good luck with your move Pittcity. Take it easy.

I'm glad you enjoyed your brief escape sheepandcattle

I am reaching across Scotland to give you a big hug Marydoll. You are so brave and I'm sure your nearest understand what you are going through, in their own way.
