Along with ‘passed’, don’t like ‘lost’ used when someone has died.
My sister insisted on having it put on the service sheet for mum’s funeral service- ‘When we lost dad....’
I wanted ‘When dad died...’ but gave in as she was very upset, but wish I had insisted. Made it sound as though he had disappeared.
Also on the subject of death, don’t like ‘casket’.
It’s a coffin.
