Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but grey start here in Brackley with signs of rain.
Today usual shop this morning ,and maybe lunchtime go and get some Fish & Chips from the take away .
This afternoon small nap , then watch cycling on TV , at least it is live .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a rapidly improving E Kent. We are promised sunshine ☀️ all day. Sounds lovely after the succession of grey days.
Giving blood this afternoon. Not sure how much longer I’ll carry on. I had told myself I’d stop when my donations matched my age as they are starting to knock the stuffing out of me for a couple of days; but now with Covid-19, I feel that more blood is needed...
Iris has the dressings round the screws into her bone changed weekly. She has managed to avoid infection since her first operation in November. Hope this carries on for the next 6-ish months. She’s coping ok from what I can gather. A tough little cookie. ?
Take care and take it easy today, please. Hope that there is an easing of pain, sadness, worries. Hope you find a random flamingo ? in your lives today. One lovely little thing to hand on to. ❤️☀️????

Ashcombe Fri 19-Mar-21 06:22:54

Good morning, everyone, from a breezy but fine Torbay.

Yesterday, after the Lidl shop, I took a short walk, finishing up in my church where I took this photo for Gagagran of these beautiful lilies, etc in an arrangement placed there for Mothering Sunday.

On the subject of flowers, I really appreciated the responses yesterday from brook2704 about my friends now living in The Netherlands, including the video, Grandmafrench, plus the information about Floriade, previously enjoyed by dragonfly46 and Gwenisgreat1. I’m sure Susan56, who also wishes to visit Keukenhof, will have felt inspired, as I was, by Alygran’s photos.

My sore toe benefitted from the rest, thanks, cornergran and Dwmxwg. Yesterday, I identified the exact part of the offending kerb. I decided against giving it a good kicking!!

What a trying day you had, Marydoll! Accounts of your exploits entertain us all but we would be just as pleased if you were to say you’re having a quiet day today! I hope Pinchy's legs are improving with the splints, sheepandcattle.

In my working days, we would say: TGFF! Today it’s Happy Comic Relief Day, with memories of crazy times in school celebrating this in the past. ?????

Beechnut Fri 19-Mar-21 06:25:31

Good Morning everyone from a wet and dull Severnside.

I’m glad that I made the effort to mow the lawn yesterday. I washed the valance off the bed and can’t make up my mind whether to put it back on as it gets in the way when trying to access the drawers. Do any of you good morningers use one?

Have a good day if you can ?

The esses for me today, shopping and sewing. I’m going to make a few Velcro ties and there is also my vest to put a patch on ?

Bellasnana Fri 19-Mar-21 06:42:26

Good morning from Malta where it is a bright day, and also a Public Holiday due to the feast of St Joseph.

My workmen had barely begun on the work in my backyard yesterday when the heavens opened so they packed up for the day. Typical, no rain for six months then a downpour just when it’s inconvenient. Never mind, hopefully they will be able to finish next week.

Had a busy day with the two dogs yesterday. Photo shows them playing. They do make me laugh. DD3 was feeling a bit better by the end of the day.

Hoping Auntieflo is feeling better today, Sar what a brave daughter you have. I’m so sorry to hear she has had cancer, a nightmare for you I’m sure. Seeing your child suffering has to be the hardest thing to handle especially when you can’t make everything better.

Glad Iris is making progress, grandMattie and best of luck with your blood donation. I did it for many years but they wouldn’t let me donate the last time I went because I’m under 50kgs.

No great plans for today apart from washing my hair! The hairdressers are closed until 11th April so I shall have to struggle.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Gagagran Fri 19-Mar-21 06:42:52

Morning all from still cloudy, grey, south coast.7.2c at 6am.

Thank for the beautiful lilies picture, Ashcombe - I can almost smell them. Delicious!

Beechnut I would abandon the valance if it makes access easier. I don't use one and personally, I think they are neither use nor ornament (another of my Mum's sayings!)

Still one step forward and two back with DH's recovery. It can make us both tetchy and then I feel so guilty. I don't have the patience of a saint and he can be very stubborn.

I have an outing this morning! It's only to pick up a repeat prescription and a book I reserved at the library but it feels like a treat waiting for me.

Hope the day is a good one for us all sunshine

Dwmxwg Fri 19-Mar-21 06:47:23

Good morning all from north Surrey where the overnight rain has gone and we are forecast a day of sunshine.
Yesterday all went to plan and we now have a smart new roof on the GC’s house, no arguments and we are proud of our achievement. I will attempt to attach photo.
Boys are here, still fast asleep. Once they are off to school I will do an online Pilates and road walk the dog. DH will do the school run and Tesco shop.
I will visit mum and dad and then see if DS’s partner wants to meet up for a walk with the girls. Home this afternoon for an online webinar on delirium which should be interesting.
Glad your foot benefitted from the rest Ashcombe
? for all those who need a lift today

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Mar-21 06:57:40

Good morning Mick and all

Blue sky and suns up, which lifts my spirits!

Granny duties today and a takeaway this evening.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Ashcombe Fri 19-Mar-21 06:59:45

A super house, Dwmxwg! Almost like a Swiss chalet! Your GC are very lucky.

Sar53 Fri 19-Mar-21 07:02:19

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining already.
I have to go and pick up my new glasses this morning and then DH and I both have blood tests for early afternoon, a busy day !!!
I spoke to DD2 yesterday and she said she was totally overwhelmed by all the lovely, supportive comments she has received since unveiling the new her. I think it has boosted her confidence no end.
Gagagran I hope you continue to see improvements in your DH and ? for Iris, a very plucky young lady.
Have the best Friday you can everyone xx

grandmajet Fri 19-Mar-21 07:03:27

Good morning. Another grey day here in Notts.
Beechnut, definitely ditch the valance, they are dust catchers and if it gets in the way of the drawers...
I love reading your news from Malta, Bellasnana, somewhere we visited a couple of times and loved. We were based in Valletta, and made good use of the strange variety of buses on offer to travel around. I remember one bus journey when the back of a seat fell off! I also remember fireworks most evenings, I don’t know why.
I’m not sure what to do today. My recent exhaustion is apparently due to anaemia so they’re changing my chemo - I’m relieved as I thought I was just fading out! A little light gardening and a walk will definitely help, especially if I spot a flamingo!
Enjoy today, everyone.

Kalu Fri 19-Mar-21 07:06:56

Good morning from yet another sunny day in Glasgow. Still taking advantage of this weather spending the day outside. Lots of tidying up to do this time of year in the garden with the help of our gardener who will do the heavy stuff and remove all the debris.

That about sums up my day which no longer feels like being stuck at home. Just being outside on a pleasant day makes such a difference.

Hoping everyone is sharing this good spell of longed for sunshine and best wishes to those of you who have worries and troubles. I hope you have a better day.

Susan56 Fri 19-Mar-21 07:10:19

Good morning from Shropshire.

Another day of childcare and school pick up today. We take a flask of hot chocolate and snacks and go to the park after school supposedly to tire the children out but actually tires us out more!I am looking forward to a restful weekend!

One of the car tyres has a nail in it so we are booked in to get a new tyre this morning as well.

Thank you for the pictures yesterday Alygran.Ashcombe is right. They have made us determined that we will get there at some point.

Hope that Cherry,Mary and Auntieflo are feeling brighter today and that brave little Iris’s leg remains infection free??

Have a good day all and thinking of all with illness, sadness and worries?

cornergran Fri 19-Mar-21 07:20:38

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Admin for me today and hopefully some common sense for Mr C who decided to wait until I was nearly asleep to tell me his neck and shoulder were too painful to sleep and where were the painkillers. Apparently he’d been in pain all day and said not a word. Heat and ibuprofen later he soon slept while I was wide awake!

Hope all goes well for Iris today grandmattie and your daughter continues to get positive comments sar. That sounds a full day dwmx, pleased the roof repair went well.

Don’t feel guilty gagagran, your reactions are natural, best wishes to you both. Someone’s law with the rain bellasnana. Hope yesterday was less fraught marydoll, I understand your concerns about your husband.

Take care everyone, hope Friday is gentle with us all.

brook2704 Fri 19-Mar-21 07:21:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s a bit grey and cloudy just now but no rain forecast just yet. Yesterday was another lovely day and we reached 14º in the afternoon!
Nothing much planned today, an online dance exercise class this morning and later a shop in Tesco.
I got rid of valances a few years ago beechnut didn’t think they were needed
Lovely house for the DGC dwm I bet they enjoy playing in there!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is kind and take care all whatever the day brings

Marydoll Fri 19-Mar-21 07:22:26

Good morning all from a mild Glasgow, where it promises to be a pleasant day.
I have a semi empty today. DH is golfing, (at my insistence), but he has organised DD to spend the morning here, as I was pretty unwell yesterday and we have Tesco delivery.
A severe angina episode put me in bed, where I slept most of the day, big improvement today, thank goodness.
For those who sent me PMs yesterday, sorry, I didn't get back to you.
Poor Mr Marydoll is feeling like a half shut knife, this morning, after I wakened him up with my high pitched screaming. I haven't had these night terrors for a long time, I'm unsure what triggered it.
Today, will definitely be a gentle day. MrMD did all the housework yesterday, so I can just footer about, as wee Dollie would say. ?

She really cheered us up yesterday with two lovely videos, both were commenting on papa's donkeys, running at Cheltenham. He told her that he was praying for them to win (never happens) and she responded with: You are a kind, kind man papa, praying for the wonky donkeys!.
I noticed there have been no recent posts from Beauregard, whom DH told me had a winning horse the other week. ??
I hope she is OK.

After trying to trying to get a quote for replacing our spongy, dangerous decking, the company messaged to say they were coming today to give us a quote. As I won't be going anywhere, anytime soon, I would love to get it replaced, sooner than later.

Grandmajet, hopefully you will soon begin to feel a bit better. Hoping for a better day for the Gagagrans, Auntieflo,Susan and anyone who I have missed. ?
DD has just arrived and I'm now totally distracted, she is needs to offload all of this weeks drama's at work! ?. I have sent her to put packs of Frys Turkish Delight through my friends' letterboxes, to cheer them up and give me a brief respite ? (we all love them).

Have a good day, everyone.

Jaxjacky Fri 19-Mar-21 07:29:50

Good morning Mick and all from S Hants, we’ve had rain overnight and it’s overcast. Pleased Iris is staying germ free, Ashcombe’s foot is improving and Grandmajet hopefully a change of medication will buck you up. Dwm we have a valance, no drawers, but under the bed is our hiding place for Christmas presents, so it’ll stay.
I’m off to M&S soon, I bought a long over shirt with a birthday voucher and it’s miles too big, hopefully they have a smaller one as I really like it. Then a shower, weekly hair wash and a walk, I’d planned to go to the allotment, but it will be soggy. Last day of home BP taking and Cheltenham, DH has his jab at 5:20, takeaway f and chips for dinner.
Have a gentle day all, you might spot an elusive ?to cheer.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 19-Mar-21 07:30:59

Good morning from a wet and dismal Oxfordshire, I keep thinking that the sun is shining, but it’s a patch of Forsythia in the hedge by the sitting room window, still it looks pretty, all attempts to take cuttings from it have failed.
Another day of pushing drugs in my Nurse Cratchit mode, onto DD, she has had a bit of a set back due to an allergy to all the dressings they used in Surgery and afterwards on the wards, so one very swollen knee with lots of blisters, so Physio yesterday, although she went, didn’t happen as her knee is too swollen and painful to move .
Anyway, she can walk indoors without crutches so she is on the mend, her poor dog gets so excited when she walks and thinks that she will get the lead out, but she has to make do with me and DH.
Poor Iris the pain my DD has been in makes me full of admiration for Iris, I hope she continues to do well.
Have a good day everyone, time to open a window and breathe in some pollen!
Hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

hulahoop Fri 19-Mar-21 07:31:03

Thanks for all the good wishes for my birthday yesterday is was really appreciated.
Hope marydoll auntie Flo cherry and all feeling under the weather have a better day .
Sar didn't know your daughter had cancer she sounds like one brave lady we have childcare duties today so better get a move on have a good day all .

LauraNorder Fri 19-Mar-21 07:50:05

Good morning all from sunny Anglesey. A day of gardening today. We enjoyed our media free day last weekend and have decided to do a whole weekend of the same. All iPhones, tablets, TVs will be switched off in favour of music from this evening until Monday morning. We’ll allow ourselves a family Zoom of course and one news bulletin per day.

Sheepandcattle Fri 19-Mar-21 07:50:23

Good morning all from a dry but grey Wiltshire. Beechnut - another vote for leaving the valance off..... why make life more complicated than it needs to be?!! Sar, your daughter seems very brave and what a positive attitude- you must be so proud of her. dwg - that looks like a fine roofing job ..... at least you didn’t need scaffolding!?.
Marydoll - I love the Wonky-Donkey comments!? And talking of ‘wonky’, I changed Pinchy’s splints yesterday and I think there is a tiny improvement in the straightness of her legs. She has a small, sore patch on her outer ankle but this is from before she had the splints as she was walking on the side of her ankle rather than her foot, so I’ve sprayed it with antibiotic spray and dressed and padded it. She is a little trooper so we’ll carry on for the time being and see if we can get her leg functioning half decently. I attach a photo of her in her now blue boots.
Yesterday’s vaccinations were fine and apart from a headache in the night, no side effects as yet.
Today is my birthday so I’m treating myself to an afternoon doing exactly what I like, which will be weeding the garden with Radio 4 for company- my idea of heaven! I expect I’ll have some FaceTime calls this evening from the DGC.
Wishing you all a happy Friday, especially those undergoing medical treatment, feeling rotten or washed-out.

LauraNorder Fri 19-Mar-21 07:54:17

Oops pressed too soon.
Good wishes and flowers to Sars, grandmajet, Auntyflo, Marydoll and so many others suffering today in one way or another.
Special thoughts to our little inspiration Iris.
Hoping for a random pink flamingo in all of our Lego today.

LauraNorder Fri 19-Mar-21 07:57:06

??very happy birthday sheepandcattle, enjoy your well deserved break. Hope you have a super duper day. ??

cornergran Fri 19-Mar-21 07:57:50

A very happy birthday sheepandcattle. Hope the sun shines for you. Pinchy looks very content in his blue boots.

Gingster Fri 19-Mar-21 07:58:22

Good morning all from sunny Essex. What a nice change from this weeks dreary grey skies.

DH will take GS to the orthodontist this morning to have his brace adjusted. They are miracle workers . All these children with beautifully straight teeth! Not like in our day! It really changes your looks and confidence if you have wonky teeth.

My amaryllis bulb that I had for Christmas has just this week decided to grow, and is now 2ft tall with a bud emerging. It was beginning to think it was a dud. I’ll take a pic when it blooms. ?

Sar you DD is very brave. ♥️

Beautiful church flowers Ashcombe. Thanks for sharing.?

Dwm the little chalet is sweet. Your GC will have fun it it.

Hope Pinchy s legs are straightening and that the splints haven’t rubbed too much. ?.

Yes ditch the valance beechnut they are such a nuisance!

gagagran - don’t feel guilty. It’s very exhausting being carer, nurse, chief cook and bottle washer. It’s quite understandable that you are a little tetchy . Especially (like my DH) yours is a stubborn old goat. Enjoy your little trip out. It will do you good.

Glad you’re feeling brighter today Marydoll ?

Grandmafrench you are such a caring kind lady. I love reading your advice and common sense attitude. ?

Well enjoy the sun, those who have it and those who don’t, I’m sure it’s on its way to you ?.
