Got out the shower this morning and thought the house seemed cold, no warm radiators. Rang the heating engineer at 8.00 he arrived at 8.10, fixed before 8.20. Very apologetic that it might go wrong again as he hadn’t got the spare part needed (had just used his last one). Cost? “Leave it for a few days in case it breaks again”.

That is the sort of service using local people gives you.

Brilliant.

DH has just opened 2 plastic shower panels delivered yesterday and found one damaged, smack bang centre where it can’t be hidden/lopped off.

Rang the company, Decor Walls and Flooring, in Huddersfield and they’re sending the replacement tomorrow and will pick up damaged one at same time.

Realised at 5.20pm on Christmas Eve I had a urine infection! Phoned the surgery (luckily still open) and asked for a particular antibiotic I'd had before. Said they'd phone back which they did at 5.30pm. Said the prescription was being phoned through to the pharmacy, which closes at 6pm. I walked to the pharmacy and had the prescription in my hand by 5.50pm just before they closed.
How's that, from phoning the doctor to the drug in my hand in 30 minutes! Fantastic service.
