My ancestor (GGGGGGFATHER!) is Robert Herrick the poet. These ancestors also had Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire requisitioned in WWII and it was never returned. It was sold by the MOD to the council in the’70s and we didn’t see a penny??

My childrens' ancestor invented the condenser for the steam engine. The Hornblower engine is in British museum. James Watt called them Evil Imps or some such.
I have seen letters between J.Hornblower and James Watt proving that Hornblower s idea was stolen by Watt. He stole the patent. Hornblowers let down was his heavy drinking.
These documents were shown to myself and my ex at Truro Museum.

None at all. Working class family without any glamour. The closest I have is my dil who is very well known in her own country and well known in her field here, but wouldn’t say she is famous.
