Its just getting daylight ,and there is a half moon as well .

Happy Easter Mick and everyone on a chilly morning in S Lanarkshire.
Lovely picture to start the day Ashcombe, thank you.
Nanasheep, your happiness is tangible and I wish that joy to everyone in some measure today.?
I’m sitting up in bed with my morning cuppa, watching ‘Britain’s Easter Story, filmed pre Covid of course, so interesting about how the date of Easter was fixed by the Synod of Whitby in the seventh century and how important women were in the decision making process then. One of my bete noires, but I’ll stop now!
Kalu, am I right in thinking your DD is in Scotland? Getting to the over 40’s here would be wonderful.
I’m looking forward to going to my bubble family for lunch later, so I’ll wish everyone the best day possible and ‘Haste ye back’ to you Urmstongran

Good Morning All and a Happy Easter x.
More bright sunshine, but it was bitterly cold yesterday as after chatting at the front I was as stiff as a board with the cold that the heating went on and I thawed out beautifully.
Needless to say, it's bitter again--6 degrees up to now.

Lamb for dinner today, cauli and white sauce and an individual bread pud. courtesy of M&S----with extra cream grin
Mum used to go the whole hog at Easter such as she did for Christmas, with a huge sherry trifle.

The patience you've shown this past 12 months has been amazing Ashcombe, if I wore a hat it would be raised to you.x

Sheepandcattle I can feel your excitement for today, how lovely it'll be for all concerned. Have a wonderful day, you certainly deserve it. x.

Whether I'll get a visit today or not I'll have to wait and see. I'd love to see Ruby-Lou and hear her " new " accent---Geordie---with being in Durham this last year, the other siblings are fascinated.

I haven't seen the bumble-bee this morning which is unusual, unless it's too cold this morning, or there's nothing for him to eat yet. I notice the Ceonothus is covered in buds, so he'll be back when they burst open.

I don't intend doing much today apart from cooking my dinner, ironing and housework can wait.

So glad that you heard from our Gilly, NanKate it gives us hope that she'll be back on the scene. Thankyou for that.

Hoping this day finds you feeling a bit more human Marydoll, providing you don't do too much.

Best wishes to those who've " re-visited " and hope the day goes well for you. flowers

Take care and stay safe whatever you do. xx

Happy Easter to all! It is a bright ? morning here at DD's in East Northants.

No plans for today other than enjoy some Easter chocolate, read the papers and knit. I can't remember whether there is any rugby on. I shall go home this afternoon.

My lucky socks worked yesterday! Despite losing for most of the match, we managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the closing minutes. We are now through to the quarter-finals of the competition, and have a home fixture against Quins or Ulster. Poor DS-in-law won't know who to support if its Ulster, as he is an Ulsterman!

Many thanks for kind comments about my wedding photos. It was indeed a very happy day. We opened a bottle of fizz last night, and raised a glass to my DH.

Hope all have a lovely Easter Day. Shall miss you Urmston. Don't stay away too long.

Also Ekwanimitee, thinking about you x

Good morning from Durham. Not sleeping well, so was in the bath at 5.15 when it was still dark with a hard frost. Now it’s bright, sunny and cold. DD2 and I are heading up the coast to one of the many lovely fishing villages for some fresh air - blow off the cobwebs. It will be a welcome distraction from dealing with DH’s Estate.

Hope everyone has a good day. ?harrigran. X

Happy Easter everyone! A grey chilly day in north Kent.

Off later this morning to spend the day with DD and family in their garden so have several layers at the ready. She has plenty of blankets and patio heaters so shouldn’t be too cold. Saw DS and family yesterday and caught up with the three DGDs news. We are very lucky to have all our family living near us.

Harrigran what a shock getting the news about your DS; hopefully he will be returning home soon ?. Don’t stay away too long Urms; I look forward to reading your posts - particularly on other threads where I admire your ability to toss a pebble into the water and enjoy watching the emerging waves as everyone reacts! ??

Hope you all have a good day and special wishes to all those struggling with worries, illnesses and losses.

Stay safe

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Off to DD's this afternoon for Pizza's in the garden, so thankful it looks like it will at least be dry and sunny. Not been in their garden since probably last October. So excited to see the girls in the flesh again.

Good to hear that gilly is ok NanKate I hope it won't be too long before she can be back with us again. You are missed gilly!

Don't stay away too long Urmston you will be missed too

Wishing you all a happy Easter Day

Happy Easter to you all from a bright, but chilly Cambs.,

Special thoughts to those with extra worries, flowers.

Take Good Care, & Keep in touch. x

Happy Easter Mick and all from a now dull northwest Lancashire coast, started sunny but cloudy now. Later on I will have no excuse to be in the sun and should get on with something in the house.
, or in da house as the kids say.
Off in a min to church but outside communion as ticket only mass. Better wrap up.
Thoughts to all with worries about health or otherwise.
Back later to enjoy your diary entries ?

CherryCezzy Sun 04-Apr-21 10:06:25

Good luck with your ultrasound scan today EkwaNimitee.
I hope your DS is out of hospital and well recovered soon harrigran ?

A big thank you to those of you who continue to send me their well wishes, they do mean a lot to me.

grandmajet Sun 04-Apr-21 10:09:04

Just read your post harrigran , wishing your DS well. What a worry for you.

Oh Marydoll, tablet! That brings back memories of my childhood holidays which were spent in Glasgow where my mother’s parents lived. Eight of us in a small two bedroomed tenement flat. My uncle had a share in a dinghy on Loch Lomond and we used to go out fishing for a whole day, landing on an island for a lunch of tea and sausages. We always had a plentiful supply of tablet, in case we got marooned! It was wonderful.

Good Morning Mick and everyone.
Blue skies here in Cornwall but had 3 layers on for Mya's quick morning walk. It got to below 0 early this morning. Our frost pocket lives up to its word! Glad I threw the fleecing over the precious azalea. More gardening today. It's a 7 day a week task at the moment. Need more seed compost so a drive to Homebase. Will do a different walk on the Camel Trail with Mya whilst in that area.

Roast beef and yorkshires today. Just us two. We seem to drift further and further into isolation. Saddens me. Telephone all to my brother will help later on today. Just written his birthday card. Two years since I saw him. I'd love to drive up to see all the family and friends I left behind but can't see that happening. I feel OK with driving locally but that distance worries me.

harrigran Hope your DD gets back soon to be with you and DH.
Urm enjoy the break
Sheep Made me smile again.
EkwaNimitee The new hairdo will brighten your spirits. Amazed at the hospital doing the ultrasound today. Praise for the NHS we get.
FannyCornforth Good to see you posting again too.

smile I can't send a flamingo emoji to everyone but this photo is for all those posters who can't see the flamingo emojis lots of posters send (we just get a rectangle) sad

Callistemon Sun 04-Apr-21 10:35:23

Good morning and a Happy Easter to Mick and all of you from S Wales. It's bright and sunny here but I think may be chilly.
???

It's good to hear from gillybob and hope she does manage to pop in some time soon, thank you, NanKate for passing on our messages.

harrigran ? for some better news flowers

I remember my dear Scottish friend talking about tablet which I'd never heard of, when I asked her if it was like fudge she said 'Och, no, it's tablet!

We're going to deliver Easter eggs to the DGC later, although their garden does face south and is very sheltered I shall wrap up warm!

Best wishes to everyone with troubles and illnesses and I hope those who are seeing family, perhaps for the first time for a while, have a lovely time.

Callistemon Sun 04-Apr-21 10:37:54

Urmstongran I can quite understand why you thought a break might be a good idea but hope to see you back soon - there are still some lovely threads like this one
?

Dwmxwg Sun 04-Apr-21 11:08:03

harrigran I do hope your son is back home soon and all is well. A sad reason for your DD tor return to the UK but I am sure you will be glad of her presence
Urmsongran sometimes it is good to take a break from the iPad, we will miss your wit and hope to see you back soon

Blossoming Sun 04-Apr-21 11:12:55

Good morning all from a dull grey Lancashire. It’s warmer than yesterday though. Nothing much planned for today, Mr. B is happy with his Hotel Chocolat Easter Egg but I have told him he has to save it until after lunch. He’s had a taste anyway. I am carrying on stitching my flamingo face mask.

Happy Easter everyone ?

Aepgirl Sun 04-Apr-21 11:19:39

A very happy and joyful Easter to you all.

Am I the only one who dislikes being wished a Happy Easter on Good Friday?

Keeper1 Sun 04-Apr-21 11:31:26

Happy Easter everyone

I have finally managed to post and it is still morning

It is a beautiful bright sunny day, clear blue skies but chilly here in Lincolnshire. I have nothing planned but relaxing, bliss

EllanVannin Sun 04-Apr-21 11:34:15

Oh goodness, reading through I'd just noticed that Urmston's taking a break. I know it's difficult in these times to muster up a conversation when things aren't normal, the same as you would if you were out and about. Life gets tedious don't it ?
Don't take too long about it though grin x

EllanVannin Sun 04-Apr-21 11:38:09

Harrigran flowers x.
Easter has proved to be a sad time for many. Thoughts to all.

Beechnut Sun 04-Apr-21 11:40:42

I’ll miss you Urmston. I hope you’ll be back before our birthdays ?
