Oh Harrigran you are having a time of it. Hope your DH improves and your DS is better soon and your DD manages to come to see you flowers

glammagran my DD cut out flat egg shapes which DGD had coloured for an egg hunt in the garden
Urmston. enjoy your break but don't take too long because you will be missed
Haven't heard that hymn before, Ashcombe, must be a recent one. Saw Graham Kendrick at the Harrogate Convention Centre a few years ago. Very enjoyable.

Happy Easter from a sunny East Midlands x

lemongrove Sun 04-Apr-21 15:46:55

It’s late afternoon, not morning, but I shall still add Happy Easter to everyone?
Our church had an outdoor service this morning, nippy but sunny with a large congregation, all well socially distanced.
Beautiful day, so many daffodils everywhere, and neighbours out chatting in the sunshine, and relatives arriving for lunch in the garden. It all feels so hopeful.daffodil

Happy Easter everyone. He is risen. So wish we could have sung our Easter hymns this morning but not to be. Just glad I had reserved our places in church and enjoyed seeing some members of our congegation.

Just been for a walk around the neighbourhood which always looks better in glorious sunshine. We have so much to be thankful for and Easter brings hope and life for the future.

When I set off for Easter Sunday church this morning it was only 4 degrees! It was beautiful though. The church was as full as it could be under the circumstances. The choir sang beautifully - we weren’t allowed to join in. The vicar handed out chocolate after the service - she had broken an assortment of eggs as part of her sermon!
I cooked guinea fowl, bread sauce, stuffing plus all the usual accompaniments for lunch. It was all very tasty. There is a chocolate cake for pudding, but not until I have digested the main course.

Happy Easter.

Happy Easter to everyone. This is a very short third attempt to post today - my post button just won't work.

I'm another who is sad at the leaving of Urmstongran. Haste ye back!

Good afternoon all, and a very happy Easter to you. ??

It's a bright, but breezy and chilly day today, but so lovely to see blue sky and sunshine.

We got a few more jobs done in the garden yesterday, and cleared some space, moved some plants around, got rid of others that haven't survived the winter and generally tidied up. We then went to our local garden centre for some more garden compost and to see if the rocking chair my DH admired was still there. (It's his birthday soon and I've been racking my brains trying to think what to get him). Well, there was one on display, (so built), but no more left boxed up. However, they let us have that one, slightly reduced. Great, so we got it to the car, DH had put the rear seats down to create space, but calamity! It would not go in, however which way we tried. Oh dear, what to do? Luckily for us, they offer a delivery service, (phew!) so it's coming tomorrow. We have created just the space for it in the garden.

Late coming on here today because I spent the morning getting the lamb prepped to go in the slow cooker. There are some nice smells emanating from the kitchen now.

I do hope you have a lovely time with your family today, sheepandcattle, and you too, Amselerin.

? harrigan

I hope you will soon be back, Urmstongran

Thank you Nankate for posting Gilly's message - Gilly, looking forward to seeing your post soon.

Take care all and ? for all of you with worries and concerns.

Happy Easter to everyone!

I had a new microwave arrive yesterday. I had a real problem getting it in and then down my long hall to the kitchen. Then had more trouble getting it out of the very strong sturdy box it was in. Then how to get the old microwave off the kitchen work top, as it was extremely heavy and I am 80 with health problems.? ... I managed to get it onto a dining chair. Then I had to get the new microwave onto the kitchen work top in its place. Managed to get it onto another chair and by then I felt quite weak and my legs were trembling... I had to wait until this morning after breakfast to tackle it... and managed to get it from the chair to the microwave!!! I must be stronger than I thought...

My son has invited me for Easter dinner tonight and I will see two of my grandchildren back from university there. I feel so lucky and blessed. I have also broken into an Easter egg sent by my daughter and found there was a bottle of prosecco and some macaroons in the box too! How lovely.

Have a good day everyone, and may all with problems find they improve as the weekend wears on.

Good morning everyone from the Salisbury area where I've been participating in the Sunday Breakfast Show on Radio Odstock, Salisbury Hospital and community radio. Our love to all those in hospital at the moment.

Grandmafrench Sun 04-Apr-21 11:44:03

Easter Wishes and love to everyone - and hope for all of us. xx

Beechnut Sun 04-Apr-21 11:40:42

I’ll miss you Urmston. I hope you’ll be back before our birthdays ?

EllanVannin Sun 04-Apr-21 11:38:09

Harrigran flowers x.
Easter has proved to be a sad time for many. Thoughts to all.

EllanVannin Sun 04-Apr-21 11:34:15

Oh goodness, reading through I'd just noticed that Urmston's taking a break. I know it's difficult in these times to muster up a conversation when things aren't normal, the same as you would if you were out and about. Life gets tedious don't it ?
Don't take too long about it though grin x

Happy Easter everyone

I have finally managed to post and it is still morning

It is a beautiful bright sunny day, clear blue skies but chilly here in Lincolnshire. I have nothing planned but relaxing, bliss

Aepgirl Sun 04-Apr-21 11:19:39

A very happy and joyful Easter to you all.

Am I the only one who dislikes being wished a Happy Easter on Good Friday?

Blossoming Sun 04-Apr-21 11:12:55

Good morning all from a dull grey Lancashire. It’s warmer than yesterday though. Nothing much planned for today, Mr. B is happy with his Hotel Chocolat Easter Egg but I have told him he has to save it until after lunch. He’s had a taste anyway. I am carrying on stitching my flamingo face mask.

Happy Easter everyone ?

Dwmxwg Sun 04-Apr-21 11:08:03

harrigran I do hope your son is back home soon and all is well. A sad reason for your DD tor return to the UK but I am sure you will be glad of her presence
Urmsongran sometimes it is good to take a break from the iPad, we will miss your wit and hope to see you back soon

Callistemon Sun 04-Apr-21 10:37:54

Urmstongran I can quite understand why you thought a break might be a good idea but hope to see you back soon - there are still some lovely threads like this one

Callistemon Sun 04-Apr-21 10:35:23

Good morning and a Happy Easter to Mick and all of you from S Wales. It's bright and sunny here but I think may be chilly.
???

It's good to hear from gillybob and hope she does manage to pop in some time soon, thank you, NanKate for passing on our messages.

harrigran ? for some better news flowers

I remember my dear Scottish friend talking about tablet which I'd never heard of, when I asked her if it was like fudge she said 'Och, no, it's tablet!

We're going to deliver Easter eggs to the DGC later, although their garden does face south and is very sheltered I shall wrap up warm!

Best wishes to everyone with troubles and illnesses and I hope those who are seeing family, perhaps for the first time for a while, have a lovely time.

Good Morning Mick and everyone.
Blue skies here in Cornwall but had 3 layers on for Mya's quick morning walk. It got to below 0 early this morning. Our frost pocket lives up to its word! Glad I threw the fleecing over the precious azalea. More gardening today. It's a 7 day a week task at the moment. Need more seed compost so a drive to Homebase. Will do a different walk on the Camel Trail with Mya whilst in that area.

Roast beef and yorkshires today. Just us two. We seem to drift further and further into isolation. Saddens me. Telephone all to my brother will help later on today. Just written his birthday card. Two years since I saw him. I'd love to drive up to see all the family and friends I left behind but can't see that happening. I feel OK with driving locally but that distance worries me.

harrigran Hope your DD gets back soon to be with you and DH.
Urm enjoy the break
Sheep Made me smile again.
EkwaNimitee The new hairdo will brighten your spirits. Amazed at the hospital doing the ultrasound today. Praise for the NHS we get.
FannyCornforth Good to see you posting again too.

smile I can't send a flamingo emoji to everyone but this photo is for all those posters who can't see the flamingo emojis lots of posters send (we just get a rectangle) sad

grandmajet Sun 04-Apr-21 10:09:04

Just read your post harrigran , wishing your DS well. What a worry for you.

Oh Marydoll, tablet! That brings back memories of my childhood holidays which were spent in Glasgow where my mother’s parents lived. Eight of us in a small two bedroomed tenement flat. My uncle had a share in a dinghy on Loch Lomond and we used to go out fishing for a whole day, landing on an island for a lunch of tea and sausages. We always had a plentiful supply of tablet, in case we got marooned! It was wonderful.

CherryCezzy Sun 04-Apr-21 10:06:25

Good luck with your ultrasound scan today EkwaNimitee.
I hope your DS is out of hospital and well recovered soon harrigran ?

A big thank you to those of you who continue to send me their well wishes, they do mean a lot to me.

hollysteers Sun 04-Apr-21 10:03:23

Happy Easter Mick and all from a now dull northwest Lancashire coast, started sunny but cloudy now. Later on I will have no excuse to be in the sun and should get on with something in the house.
, or in da house as the kids say.
Off in a min to church but outside communion as ticket only mass. Better wrap up.
Thoughts to all with worries about health or otherwise.
Back later to enjoy your diary entries ?

gillgran Sun 04-Apr-21 10:00:30

Happy Easter to you all from a bright, but chilly Cambs.,

Special thoughts to those with extra worries, flowers.

Take Good Care, & Keep in touch. x
