Good Morning Easter Sunday

Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester. Not as cold as yesterday.
DH has gone on a guided walk on the Essex coast as he's hoping to become a guide. I am spending the day with DS as he doesn't have to return to base until tomorrow.
I have a chocolate orange as a nod to Easter. We are trying to lose some lockdown weight and Easter eggs etc don't help.
Roast chicken tonight.

Good morning and a joyful and peaceful Easter to all, what ever your plans.
The sun has managed to peek through the grey clouds here in Glasgow, but it's only 0°C, so different from yesterday.

Another pleasant day yesterday. My friend P came acoss with Dollie's Easter gift and chocolates for me. This is the first time I have seen her, since I opened up about everything.
We had such a long and enjoyable chat on the doorstep.

She had just left, when DS2 unexpectedly arrived with his fiancée (and more chocolate!) because I hadn't felt up to visiting him.
It wasn't a long visit, as my DD and and her husband were going to visit them for pizza ( in his new outdoor) pizza oven and beer. They live near each other, so DD was very excited to be seeing their new home for the first time. When they were young, DS2 and DD fought constantly, so it gladdens my heart to see them so close.
DS2 was only two when DD was born. A very unwell wee boy and used to being with me all the time, this screaming diva entered his world and turned it upside down! ?

A very gentle day ahead. We plan to watch online church, as I couldn't face the very lengthy Easter Vigil service last night.
I managed to make tablet yesterday, which I will deliver as an Easter gift to my neighbours later. Its become a bit of a tradition.
I literally threw all the ingredients in the pot, without much care and attention ( felt ropey) and it has turned out to be some of the best I have ever made! ? A lesson to be learned!?

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for us, no family turkey as is our tradition. We usually have a family meal. I shall have to find an interesting topic of conversation for DH and I at the dinner table, then again, I may not bother, as DH never listens to a word I say anyway. ?

A note to Beauregard, DH did indeed win a £50 voucher, courtesy of the Racing Post. His excitement knows no bounds, having never won anything in his life.......apart from me, that is! ?

For those who have plans today, enjoy. This day will be sad for many, thinking of loved ones who are no longer with us. Have a gentle and peaceful day.?

Good morning to all from a chilly Lueneburg. I am preparing a lamb dinner for my visitors. I do like to give my granddaughter a taste of British food as I learned to cook it. I could`t cook when I married my husband and then got the Mrs. Beeton`s everyday Cookbook and later the Good housekeeping cookbook. I still use these 2 cookbooks. Of course, when I cook lamb now, I think of sheepcattle. I have been hiding Easter Eggs for my granddaughter in the garden. She is 13 now. We all shall speak English together to practice.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright, frosty S Hants. Ash thank you for the picture, reminds me of my happy childhood, every day you are nearer your long overdue meet back with your DH. sheep I can feel you positively fizzing with excitement, have the most wonderful of days.
I had a text yesterday, the greenhouse assembly man had a cancellation, so he’s starting today. Another text from DD, school emailed 15 vaccine slots available, she was quick off the mark and has one. No real plans today with GD still in isolation, planning a garden visit for Friday.
I’m wishing you all the best Easter Sunday, many family meet ups, so precious. And never forgetting those with troubles, lonely or just sad.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but seems chilly out. Happy Easter to all my lovely friends on here.

We are picking my stepfather up and then before coming here for dinner of roast lamb (not just any lamb it’s bluddy expensive M&S lamb ha!) we are popping over to have drinks - supposedly in the garden but he’s 88y so ... - with our daughter and son in law. He’s very much looking forward to seeing his great grandchildren whom he hasn’t seen since Christmas.

On that note, I’ll say bye for now. I have decided to take a short break from GN. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

One DGD birthday today and another tomorrow (and DS). DGD1 will visit me and her DGGM this afternoon but I went to theirs yesterday and we walked to the beach with her little dog. It was Mediterranean weather. The other family are too far away but I saw a video of her small party and Easter Egg hunt. They all looked blissfully happy..
Both girls were born on Easter Sunday 5 years apart.

Good morning Michael and all GNs and a Happy Easter Sunday. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but the bits of the garden it hasn’t found yet are white over, so it ain’t warm! Expecting DD and her menfolk for lunch later. The first roast lamb we have had for some time (Sorry Sheep!). We will follow it with the last of the autumn’s blackberries in a crumble. And of course there has to be chocolate!

We had a visit from DD1, SiL and 15 year old GD on Friday. I was very worried as the forecast looked like it would be really cold, windy and cloudy. It was actually warm and sunny though breezy and I actually got a little sunburnt. We had lunch out in the garden having done Covid tests in the morning. GD is now taller than her mum. First time we’d met up since last July. It was wonderful to see them.

Today we we have a visit from DD2 and her family. I could kick myself as I forgot to get any mini eggs for Easter egg hunt which GD aged 2 would love. We see them every week as we live in the same town. Their new house is coming on. Her partner rewired their house the day after they moved in. Nothing had been done at all to the house since the 1970’s. He has also completed the children’s bedrooms and the main bathroom. The extension has also been started. The new baby is due in a fortnight. He must rest now as he is starting to look very tired.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
My vaccination yesterday was over and done with in no time, arm is okay.
Sent DS a message at lunchtime asking him when would be a convenient time to deliver the Easter gifts to his doorstep and got a shock when I got the reply. DS was in hospital and had been since Friday but they hadn't wanted to worry us with DH being so ill.
I messaged him again last night and he was wired fot 24 hour ECG and depending on result should be home tonight.
I really don't need any more worries, I have aged ten years in the last year.
DH has just told me that DS has posted on FB so I guess the rest of the family will know now.
I think DD may try and return to the UK as she now has legitimate grounds for travelling with her dad being so poorly, she is able to work from home in the UK so it would not be indefinite leave.

I have finished DGS quilt/throw type thing, once i had finished I realised one of the print pieces is upside down? I am not changing it now!!
I reignited an old My Fitness Pal account to start logging my food as I am still ‘piling it on’! I was horrified to see that I am 3st heavier than I was in 2014 when I last used it? oh dear, the menopause and piggy eating have a lot to answer for ?
I will read all your news with my coffee now.

Good morning all from a chilly Essex.

Yesterday we saw DS1 and his family for coffee and buns. It was cold but they stayed a couple of hours with blankets to keep us warm.

Today will be quiet with just the two of us . Roast chicken for dinner . I’ll catch up with yesterday’s papers and start a new book club book. ‘The long petal of the sea’ by Isobel Alende’. Anyone read it. Just finished ‘Hamnet’ by Maggie Ofarrell. Which I enjoyed.

I’m still crocheting squares for a blanket. I’m gradually running down my stock of odd wool so it’s rewarding to make something out of the bits and bobs I’ve saved over the years. It’s going to be quite big.

My DS2 and his wife are picking up a puppy today. He’s as cute as cute can be and the little girls (6 and 9) will be over the moon with excitement. He’s a cocker spaniel x Coton de tulear. Fur like cotton wool. He will arrive in an Easter basket with a blue bow round his neck.. not sure if DS will take him out by himself - not terribly Macho! ?

Good Morning, Mick and Everyone. It's dull and grey on the Cumbrian coast, a bit like my mood. I seem to be very reactive to the weather. My usual response is either to get very busy on something like housework or to sink into a book. It will be definitely the latter today although I must do some research on stuff for the new house. The next bright thing on the horizon is a visit to my hairdresser on Tuesday. It's not been cut since December and I am hating it.
I actually have an outing this afternoon -- an ultrasound at the local hospital. What an Easter Sunday treat! I was really surprised they were working today of all days. There will be no nice lunches for me, I have to starve myself from mid-morning but I shall make up for it later for sure.
A peaceful happy day for you all, I'm glad some of you are now able to enjoy your family around you.

Good morning and a Happy Easter to you all. It's "wall to wall" blue sky in the Gower and not too chilly. That's three days now of ? nothing like blue sky.

Yesterday to try and fight off the seizures fatigue I decided to join my WP and do some gardening as opposed to watching. I thought it would be nippy so I put on a cardigan, wrong move - I'd forgotten how warm gardening can make you ?. To be honest it was never needed in the first place, it was warm anyway. I quite enjoyed clearing the ivy and shaping it into an arch. I even had compliments on my skills from my WP ?. After a job well done we sat outside in the warm sunshine with a pot of tea and a neighbour I haven't seen for ages spotted us and came for a chat (and a cup of tea).
I did suffer repercussions from gardening, I know my stenosis hasn't thanked me, but I enjoyed it ?

It's wonderful to hear that so many of you are seeing family today, Sheepandcattle your excitement beams off the page ?.
Happy Birthday to your DGD today and just in case I forget or am absent Happy Birthday to your other DGD for tomorrow, and your DS ????????
