Good morning all from dry and sunny Isle of Anglesey. Holiday makers towing caravans and loaded with luggage arrived in droves yesterday, lots of happy faces.
Gosh Iris is so tall and slim as well as courageous. Glad your day went well grandMattie, have a lovely week.

Frustrating experience seems the norm at your below standard pharmacy Marydoll. Surely there is a regulator of pharmacies to whom you can complain.
Lovely to hear about all the haircuts, our hair does indeed seem to be our crowning glory. Really is a spirit lifter when looking good.
We had a smattering of snow on Sunday and it was jolly cold followed by a lovely day in the garden yesterday, the sun burned my shoulders, such a contrast. Unbelievable.
Hope everything warms up soon so that the hospitality industry can recover and we can all feel some warmth.

Very very frosty morning in Cornwall. It's still on the ground now 09:45.
Having little luck with phone calls. Nothing from dear son despite text - very anxious now.
Rang dear bro to wish him happy birthday but family were arriving (lots of children).
Good news - 11 weeks on we have an appointment for 2nd pfizer. No after effects from 1st so hoping for same again

Stilllearning The Silver Sword was a favourite book of mine when I was a child, I hope your GD enjoys it.
Nannyjan53 my stepdaughter has 3 year old twins and they both had red swollen toes. They've had x-rays and blood tests and nothing was found and I think Covid toe was mentioned. Very strange.

Stilllearning, I remember the Silver Sword as a serial on television when I was a child, probably in the late 1950s. We watched it as a family every week. I don’t remember much of the story but I believe it featured a Polish boy called Jan in wartime Poland. I do remember being fascinated with the story. I hope your GD enjoys it.

Good morning. Heavy frost again last night but a beautiful sunny morning here and washing on the line.
It was far too cold to garden yesterday as there was also a wind making it even more bitter. I had to do housework instead but did lots of meal prep for the next few days so that I can be in the greenhouse. I would love a small poly tunnel but worry about the wind. Maybe I could have two greenhouses?
Iris is amazing and her parents have clearly instilled a great sense of purpose in her. She’ll go far.
Coffee time and then I’m going for a walk to post several birthday cards. I shall walk to the furthest away post box as I don’t don’t exercise enough and will also pass a friend’s garden so might get a blether.
My AC are very tired and in much need of a holiday. Both have had to work extra hard for the last year and I worry a little (lot) about them. I do so miss seeing them.

Morning all,

A lovely bright start to the day and not feeling quite as cold as it did yesterday at this time.

Lots of midges flying about in our garden at the moment, too, so hope that the birds start feasting on them.

Amazed to see the queues outside Primark yesterday as shown on the news, I wonder what people are buying, and they are because some had several Primark bags in their hands as they came out of the store. I'm not desperate enough to go and stand in a queue just to buy a few tops, etc, but I suppose many are happy to be able to go out and shop and enjoy the retail therapy experience again. I expect the retailers are happy, too, they've had quite a tough time, despite many of them offering an online option, so will be very happy to see the queues.

Personally, I will wait for the novelty to die down before I start going to shopping centres and towns, I suppose I'm still feeling cautious.

Today, if it stays nice, I'll get out into the garden again to do a little more tidying.

Ellan I'm just like you. I get going, but after a while I have to go back on my charger. After that I'm good to go again - til the next re-charge if my battery is required. Trouble is, the periods between re-charges grow longer as the day goes on until I'm on permanent re-charge!

Good morning Mick from a bright Suet on Sea on the northwest Lancashire coast.
Was shaken into activity yesterday by an invitation to go into the nearby CITY later in the week for meet up with boyfriend/companion/old flame/friend and general what shall I do about him!? So I coloured my roots and having lost my highlights, am back to looking like someone selling pegs and sprigs of lucky heather. Not seen him for months, so had that Educating Rita moment, discarding various outfits. I feel the cold, so it’s tricky.
Another jolly thing is our local coach day trips are back. I do drive, but I love being told what to do “Be back at 5 o’clock!” suits me down to the ground. As I have sold my forest caravan, these trips assuage the pain. There must be gypsy blood somewhere as I also read cards (with a pinch of salt) passed down from my grandfather. He read cards when the world and his wife didn’t.
My daughter sent me a yesterday a video she took of gypsies paying their respects at Windsor Castle, a beautiful old caravan, with others and horses, drove up to the gates playing God Save The Queen, rather touching. There’s certainly a gypsy theme going on here...

Good morning all from Polmont. I've been missing in action for a couple of days but back now. I'm not long back from the park with dgs. It was buzzing with activity and so lovely. No fish man was visited or abducted today! We're having a break then a walk to Aldi for juice and something nice to eat. Have a good day all.

I’ve just picked another freesia to combine with the two that are still fresh in the vase. They are almost over now and I’m trying to strike a balance between me and the odd bee or butterfly that is around. So many fewer bees even here where there are several hives. You used to have to be wary of picking anything that might have a fat and sleepy bee dozing inside it. Maybe later in the year when it warms up.

It’s nice and sunny this morning but a strong breeze just around every corner.

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It is sunny and cold here, but there is washing to go out on the line as soon as the machine stops whirring.
The old fridge is empty and awaiting removal, when the new one is delivered. It will be sad to see the old one go, I have had it so many years.
Yesterday I managed to chip a bottom tooth, on the inside edge, and my lovely dentist has fitted me in for a 10 minute appointment and a temp. filling.
We went for a short shop yesterday afternoon, and it was lovely to be out, even if it was only to Aldi, but I forgot to get any more crumpets ?
I love the stories about Iris, and that she has been adopted as our GN mascot. Well done little girl, you are a brave soul.

Have I missed * Cherry* recently. I do try and read most days, even if I don't post often these days. It is a struggle to get up and moving, but once I have loosened up, it's not so bad.

Well done to Marydoll. I wish others could have a surgery like ours. MrM needs his meds every three weeks. I order on line for him (done that for 2 years now) and then he gets a text when they are ready to pick up, There is a dispensary at the surgery. They even arranged to bring it out for him during the first lockdown. It was a 1/2 journey for them.

Feelingmyage55 Polytunnels are fine in winds even the major ones we are now getting. We have two. If you go for one I can recommend First Polytunnels. Oh! your little post has me puzzled. I can't see the emojis you have picked. I get three lots of little rectangles. I know I can't see the flamingoes that others post but wondered what the other rectangles are.

baubles I too like the big shop delivered. Popped into Sainsbury's yesterday though and got three lots of fresh veg (reduced in price). Grand stir fry tonight. Tell DH we can get frosts even in May! I'm keeping the fleece on some plants. Glad I have, as last night's frost was a heavy one and it wasn't forecast.

My word, we will look so presentable once again. Hair cuts galore. I have my appointment now - 3 weeks.

Muse thank you. I’ll have a look but here in the north of Scotland we get some ferocious winds and after last week, two folk in our tiny village got in to shredded poly tunnels. I think I should try a small one and hope for the best.
