Good Morning Tuesday

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is clear and sunny again.
It was a lovely day yesterday and I got lots done outside, lawns, bench oiled and car washed. The front lawn is so mossy I need to rake it later. The lawns were DH’s pride and joy, he would be shocked at the condition it is now. ? I’m holding off with more summer bulb and flower planting until the very cold nights warm up a bit.
Charity business meeting this morning at the arboretum where we can all get a coffee. It will be good to see people face to face!

Good morning all from the Suffolk Coast where it’s sunny but frosty. Our journey up yesterday went well and I was surprised there wasn’t more traffic about. It’s lovely to be back.

The garden needs a lot of attention and the summerhouse needs a good coat of something - the winter winds and weather has taken its toll. We have a cracked downstairs window so that will have to be replaced. Never mind we will do it all gradually and not wear ourselves out. I little here and there !

DH ha haircut today thank goodness. He still has a good head of hair and although I’ve snipped it a bit over the last few weeks he is beginning to resemble a yeti. I have to wait 9 more days.
I have a zoom meeting later this morning which I know will not be particularly interesting but one that I am obliged to join.
Hope the sun comes out so I can have a pleasant walk afterward.
Will be making a lasagne for tonight’s dinner and doing some tidying in my craft room.
Lovely to see that Iris is doing so well GM.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Going to visit my mum today.Have a large haul from M and S food for her so hopefully that will put her in a good mood??
On the way home we will go to our nearest big supermarket which is over the border in Wales.We are only a couple of miles from the border but the supermarket is about 13 miles away.We have a few smaller supermarkets in our little town but never seem able to get everything we want so we are glad we can travel over the border now.

Yesterday our DD’s met up for the first time since Christmas.The three cousins were so happy to see each other.I had asked for a picture of the three of them together.The one I got they were all in Spider-Man outfits blowing bubbles!

I am appalled at your pharmacy Marydoll is there no alternative? We changed ours when they used to shout at me for wanting our prescriptions a week after they had been ordered. They wanted 3 weeks notice. We are now with Boots and they are amazing. I suppose it depends on the staff.

Good morning from a sunny NE, it is frosty but the temperature is already above freezing.
DS had to cancel his holiday for next month, the balance was due this week but he is waiting for hospital investigations. He thought better to lose the deposit rather than the full amount later.
I saw the queues at Primark on local TV and most of those in the queue were hiding their faces from the camera, we made our own assumptions
Maybe do some washing today as there is nothing else pressing.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire which should shoo the overnight frost away. We did a lot of gardening yesterday afternoon, weeding, and moving plants that have been hidden by things overtaking them, and bringing them into space and light. I hope they're grateful - it was hard going! I'm grateful that DH can still dig out large plants because I can't. This afternoon we are taking my niece to the garden centre. The trip is purely for her, but I'm sure I shall find something I simply can't come away without!

Good Morning, Mick and everyone from a bright but cloudy Cumbrian coast. I have another day of packing up last minute things and a bit more cleaning. I overdid the latter a bit yesterday but the bonus was getting 7 hours sound sleep!
This afternoon, I am taking time out to get my hair cut at last. It hasn't been done since early December and I am sick of it. Hope your appointment goes well, Mick

I had a lovely visit in the afternoon from my bubble daughter and GD5. We had a really lighthearted time, it lifted my spirits beautifully.
I had bought a book for GD which I had heard, of but never read myself, ‘The Silver Sword’. I did read it before I gave it to her, just to check, because she’s only 10, going on 11 and I will be interested to hear how she likes it, it’s very different from today’s novels.
I hope everyone who tasted freedom yesterday had a good day and that today is also good.?

Morning all from a sunny south coast but it was a cold night and only -1.5 c first thing.

The builders are here again after making a good start on our joint garages yesterday. The preparatory work has to be done first then the licensed asbestos removers will take the roof off next Monday and the builders will replace it and finish off the job.

I had an enjoyable appointment at my hairdressers at 9am yesterday and was her first client since the lockdown started. It felt good to share family news but even better to have her magic fingers and scissors restore my hair to order. There was a real buzz in the salon and her appointment book is full for the next two weeks with hardly a break. I realised how much I have missed seeing other people and chatting. DH is a dear man but we have different ideas about what constitutes a good chat!

Hope the day is a good one for us all.

You are all correct, my pharmacy is appalling. It didn't used to be like that! The problem is that my doctor's is in the next town, so it would take even longer to get them, as I would need to physically go and collect the scripts, then go to one of our local pharmacies. They will not accept electronic ones, my GP tried when I needed something urgently. Urgent to the pharmacy means, wait 48 hrs!
I really don't have an alternative way of doing it.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton. Another day like yesterday looks probable, very warm in the sun but really chilly when it goes behind a cloud.

I managed to scrape a bit more moss off the slabs yesterday, then weeded between them, so it looks better. Also cleaned the love-seat; just ordered a new cover for it as the old one was starting to get holes in it. Wondering whether to get some teak oil for the seat.

Change the bed this morning, then a general tidy up. A walk to the postbox to post birthday cards. Then this afternoon more weeding to do in the garden.

Morning all from a bright West Yorks.So pleased most seem to have taken advantage of the new rules and freedom.We stayed in waiting for builder who was supposed to be calling as he intends starting Wed.
GM you appeared to have had a lovely day and Iris did so well, amazed at the distance she walked.
Trip to shops for food supplies in prep GCs visit tomorrow, back to preparing packed lunches for school something I started to help AC out with after their long working day, but it becomes a pain with their individual likes and dislikes and schools demand on what can/cannot be included.We all know what they should be eating but no point in sending food to be returned untouched.

Good morning from a bright, sunny but cold Black Country.

Tipped off DS early this morning that over 45's can now book the jab on the website. Luckily he managed it, as it kept crashing. So he is booked for 2nd May! His youngest DD (aged 11) has swollen toes, and Hospital couldn't say what it was, except that it maybe something called 'Covid Toe'. She has regular tests, and has always tested Negative! So it is a strange one. Off to the Doctors I think if it doesn't get any better.

We spent yesterday, looking for campsites. It is amazing how many are fully booked in June! At one time there would be no problem in term time. We managed to book sites for Bude in June, and Weymouth in July.

No plans today, but off to DD's tomorrow for a walk round their village.

Good morning all from a bright, sunny, cloudless and frosty Angus coast. No wind at the moment so should be quite pleasant later.
Yesterday afternoon two friends came round for a couple of sets of tai chi, a coffee and a natter in the garden. It was cold when we sat down though - I should have lit the fire bowl! It's a new concept for me so I don't think about it automatically!
Talking of which Marydoll, I've added a photo of the eco firelighters I use. I got them from the Big River Company and they are excellent - even quicker than instant?! As Muse said yesterday, just put a match to one or two with a few bits of kindling, then add a couple of logs, and Bob's your uncle.
Nothing else to report from here. Lovely to hear of haircuts (I have an appointment for Saturday!) and shops open. Hope your trip away was lovely Ash.
So pleased you had a lovely time with Iris and her family Grandmattie, and not an eggshell in sight! (Those were wise words from a poster yesterday - our DDs feel most at ease with us and use us to let off pent-up steam knowing that no matter what, we will still love them.) Amazing Iris can walk so far with that contraption - well done, her.

It’s lovely that there’s so much more positivity on here these days. Who would think sunshine and a haircut could achieve so much? ? Two more sleeps ...
Spent lots of money at the plant auction yesterday, to fill the flower beds we haven’t dug yet. Lots of tidying up this week, ready for DD’s visit on Sunday. We shall be heading to the coast on Saturday to meet them in their camper for the first time since October.
I hope you sort your pharmacy out Marydoll and good luck tomorrow dragonfly.

Just waiting to hang out the first load of washing before I get DH ready to face the day- he has a lie in on Tuesday until wonderful cleaner has sorted out the sitting room and he has somewhere to go downstairs which is not in her way. Apart from the monthly prescription collection there is nothing planned but I must achieve something or inertia will completely overtake me.

2nd Jab for us this morning then visit to local market.It's been lovely to read about what you all got up to yesterday. I don't think I will be visiting shops yet some pictures on television with people pushing each other to get into some shops puts me off.

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. A few fluffy white clouds about but no rain or snow forecast. It was really cold earlier, car window scraping was in order before Mr. B could go shopping.

We had a wonderful day walking in the sunshine along the Glasson branch of the Lancaster Canal, my poor legs were so tired. I will have to work harder at my physio to be able to do all the walking I have planned. A huge bacon roll and a coffee from the excellent takeaway in Glasson Dock filled our bellies, I was so sleepy when we got home. Not much planned for today, other than laundry, physio and a short walk. I posted in the photo thread yesterday evening and one poster appeared to think I’d edited the colours, but it really was that blue ?

The sky is much clearer with the reduction in air traffic, though I sympathise with people wishing to travel.

Mediterranean garden where the Black Redstart family are still decorating and choosing bedding! We think that Mrs has decided to wait for warmer nights before laying any eggs. Don’t blame her.

So pleased to read how life is looking a little more like the good old days ..... 2019? .....for so many of you. Good for mental health and mojos! Mind you, from some British tv news yesterday, it does look as if quite a few born again shoppers could soon lose control of their credit cards!

Well done GM - you got through the day unscathed and spent time with your brave soldier. Bet you’re loving the thought of family time but remember, don’t say much to the wrong people - let them talk while you smile and enjoy it all. You don’t want to be pounced on any time soon. x

Hope the warm weather returns soon, or you’re all going to be reaching for the beanies after so many haircuts. We have no such hairdresser shortage here and I’m reminded to book appointments for himself and me. A necessary evil - both of us like the result but dislike going!

Good morning from the land of Frogs. It is bright and cheerful, but the breeze is a bit pernicious, so ideal for drying the bedlinen I washed overnight.

Txts from Ashcombe indicate that she and her bubble-mate, a policeman's widow, have slept warm enough, although there were more water problems when they arrived yesterday, and plumbers were summoned. I bet she let Jackie sleep in 'our' double bed, while she had one of the guest beds in the smaller bedroom.

I was successfully jabbed yesterday, but it took her far longer to add all the data to the online database than to administer the jab! I took the recommended paracetamol before attending, and of course feel fine today. 24 hrs after the jab seems to be the onset of discomforts, if any. We shall see. I hope to Zoom with Ashcombe later today once she's home, and I can whinge then if if I need to!

We're doing very well with this bright sunshine every morning----until you stick your nose outside Blimey it stays cold. Once the sun moves away from the living room it feels like sitting in a 'fridge. I'd gone so cold yesterday that it was making me feel unwell so on went the heating to thaw me out.

This morning I woke the body and senses up by cleaning the windows and it felt great to have some energy. Once I get cracking I'm fine, but the minute I sit down I could easily remain sitting so I'll have to look for the middle ground by not doing too much and not sitting too much. Mmmm.

Silly me, I'd thought it was GGS's Birthday on Sunday and it's today so a possible visit from D to collect his card and money. D has got him a mini-'fridge ! He'd wanted one for his bedroom so besides clothes, that's what he's got. Not sure if they're still off school. I haven't heard any children round here.

A fresh loaf is needed today but not much else as I'm still ploughing through the freezer before my next shop.

Lovely to see Iris after her ordeals, what a brave girl. Well done to her. A treat to see family gatherings too., GM

I must continue in cleaning mode and give the bathroom a once over which will take me to coffee time---11's's, so I'll pace myself and do one thing at a time instead of half a dozen unfinished jobs, flitting from one thing to another.

Hope one and all are well and feel more able to get out and about. I'm missing " our friends " here but hope all is well with them.
