Good Morning Everyone,
Its a bright and sunny start here in Brackley this morning, after yesterdays trip out having an easy day today .
Will do my usual shop ,and then stay in , also yesterday , I had my booking for 2nd jab next week , with a blood test health check the day after .
Mind you have form filling on the later, blood pressure average over 7 days , height , waist and weight plus alocholic consumption which will be hard to give details thanks to lockdowns .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning all from grey and chilly Harrogate
Glad to hear the doggy patients are coming on nicely - Freddie really does look sorry for himself. There's not much more expressive than a dog's eyes!!
Yesterday I braved it into town - my iphone has a problem so i went tot he Apple shop. They couldn't understand why i'd waited nearly a year to bring it in!! The lad looked at me, a little old lady who knows nothing! told me there is nothing wrong with the phone and I should take it to Leeds. I am not prepared to do that journey yet, but the guarantee is up at the end of the month. I shall go back this pm, with proof of the problem, and try to speak to someone who I can understand! angry such a waste of time!! DH is having problems with Virginmedia (so am I) but his problem is more important than mine!!! After he has spent 2 days on it, I've said I will have a go, despite I have been telling him we have a c**p service from them he will not change to some other service!!
Sorry for all the moans, when a lot of you have much more to contend with. Fingers crossed for you Marydoll and Great news Harri. Is your neighbour behaving any better Cherry?

Have as good a day as you can!

Good morning all from a cloudy Lancashire. The forecast is for showers around lunchtime and brightening later. I’ve had a slow start to the day, yoga exercises, lovely shower, deep conditioning treatment for my hair, a bit of home pampering with cups of tea provided by Mr. B and accompanied by bird song. Now relaxing in soft cashmere lounge pants and top, a treat from John Lewis when I retired. Cold damp weather seems to cause me many aches and pains, hoping for some real warmth soon. Keep well fellow GNetters,

Susan56 Fri 07-May-21 10:32:56

My husband does the shopping too.The only time I go is if we call at the supermarket while out and about. He sort of sticks to the list but is usually very tempted at the in store bakery!

NannyJan53 Fri 07-May-21 10:19:55

MrJ does our food shopping once a week! I was quite happy to hand over the reins when we got together. He likes doing it, and who am I to argue smile. We keep a running list through the week, and it is mostly stuck to.

Greyduster Fri 07-May-21 10:08:55

Perhaps suggest your husband goes alone with a list while you wait in for the window man? Urmston has anyone ever done that, do you think, and actually found that they have only bought what is on the list? Or even ended up getting anything on the list at all, but come back with things you never knew you needed??‍♀️?

Good morning all,

A cloudy but brightish morning today in South Yorkshire. I think it's going to be a mixed day weatherwise. Such a difference to this time last year when it was hot and we were out in our gardens celebrating VE Day. This year, I can't even put some of the plants outdoors yet because of night time frosts. I took delivery of some petunia plugs yesterday and after putting them into slightly larger pots have had to put them in the garage until all risk of frost has passed or I will lose them.

Well, I hope that Friday is kind to you all and ? for all of you with troubles, worries or illness.

muse Fri 07-May-21 09:55:28

Tried twice to send photos but GN not happy with them and refuses to post.

muse Fri 07-May-21 09:53:31

Good morning Mick and all from a very sunny Cornish but the afternoon clouds are looming. I wasn't up early enough but evidence of a frost. Another one expected tonight.

An almost disastrous disappointing day at the hairdressers. Hair washed and after 3" being snipped off and layered, she said "Shall I waft the hair drier over it or do you want to leave it? shock Apparently the booking had been put down for just wash and trim. I do vary it. Sometimes just a trim. Other times the full monty. Any way, she found a few mins (next lady waiting) and after a quick waft with the hair drier and a twirl with the brush, I walked out with dry hair. MrM took the photos when I got home.

Off to a bluebell festival this afternoon. Will have a few photos tomorrow.

Hope the day brings everyone some inner sunshine.

Good morning everyone. I pore over what people have planned for the day and find it fascinating. Have done a couple of hours of one legged housework and now resting. Find inactivity very difficult but conscious I need it and probably did before this. Catching up on the election news. Weather looking increasingly ominous. Going to ring local bookshop and have some books delivered. Tomorrow we have brief drive around planned. I am very excited about this and am planning a scenic route. Sending my best wishes to all on this thread.

Good morning from a beautiful sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. Yesterday’s weather was unbelievable all four seasons in the one day. Hope these golfers found their balls the hailstones would’ve camouflaged them.I’m having my hair done today for my weekend trip to Aberdeenshire when it’ll be birthday party time smile
Virtual hugs everyone

Roses Fri 07-May-21 09:42:21

Good morning everyone, if I had posted half an hour ago I'd have said how sunny it was now or is dark and raining, again!!

Yesterday my son rang to ask me to pick up children from school so gave them their favourite dinner of meatballs and pasta and it was just like old times. Lovely

Nothing much planned for today, hope you all have a good one

Urmstongran Fri 07-May-21 09:28:04

Hopefully we can get to the supermarket this afternoon to stock up for the weekend

Lesson no. 2 from the #lazygran training school Pittcity. Perhaps suggest your husband goes alone with a list while you wait in for the window man? Plants a small seed going forward .... whilst acting in a spirit of cooperation.

Good morning GraMingoes (❤️ that *grandMattie) from south Manchester where it’s dry it chilly today. We have a high of 11°C forecast. I’m off for a stroll after lunch with my walking buddy, picking up our takeaway coffees from the square first. I shall wrap up warm!

Beechnut you do have a GSOH!

I’d really like to visit Ingleton Falls this year now momb. It must be 50y since I last went with my mum, dad and younger sister yet I still recall how beautiful they are! Small flames of hope for you Marydoll lets hope that research team can fan them into a fire.

Keeper1 you are so right about the weather. It’s hard to believe it’s May. A friend in Spain from my weekly ladies group has just rung me. Similar in Malaga too - it’s only just warming up this last day or two apparently. Mind you they have 24°C forecast today... I wish I were there.

Hopefully Friday will be good to us all. Keep safe. x

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny ?Northampton. The forecast is good for today so I have a load of towels in the machine.

Yesterday I did very little apart from put the Sainsbury's delivery away, and a long phone call with my therapist (Microsoft Teams is just not working for me). She is thinking about face to face meetings in June, and putting in support to give me the confidence to go out and about on my own again. But I am not sure that I need it. How I am now compared to last summer is like the difference between chalk and cheese.

A big step for me yesterday; I noticed that I had a missed phone call from a friend, so called her back and had a long chat. The outcome being that she will pick me up on Tuesday and we will join a health walk together. She has started back already and says it is all fine and safe, so I felt very brave and said I would go. It will be nice to see familiar faces again. We have both had our second vaccines so should be ok.

This afternoon the tree man is coming to deal with some overgrown trees in the front garden, and that's my bit of excitement for the day.

Curry for tea tonight - DH and I always had a curry on a Friday right from when we were first married, and I have kept to the tradition.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Ellianne Fri 07-May-21 09:05:22

I'm with Grandmajean, Freddie's face jumped out at me as I am the biggest dog lover ever. Hope his recovery accelerates.
Like yesterday I will read all your posts later and get to know what you all do. I hadn't realised people still post throughout the day.
Have a good day.

Jaxjacky Fri 07-May-21 09:05:09

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny S Hants, greenhouse thermometer shows 0.5 overnight, up the allotment later and Tesco delivery this afternoon. Lots of news this morning, I won’t remember it all, but needless to say a big everything crossed for Marydoll medical improvements happen so quickly, may you reap some benefit. And welcome aid for Harrigran, good.
Enjoy your outs and abouts today everyone, hoping you all see some ? or a ?, muse ?.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 07-May-21 08:58:27

Good morning Mick and all

The Imp has arrived like a whirling dervish, I will read your news and catch-up when he has a nap?

Anniebach Fri 07-May-21 08:46:44

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmajean Fri 07-May-21 08:31:36

Dwmxwg - love your dog.
Good morning from Cheshire. Sunny but still chilly. About time we had a rise in temperature.
Haven't read posts yet but did see Freddie's lovely face as I scrolled down.
The best day possible to all of you.
Will enjoy posts later as DH playing golf in afternoon.

Alygran Fri 07-May-21 08:30:55

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is trying to come out.
Finally had a visit from a decorator yesterday. He is sending a quote at the weekend. Another should be coming this afternoon but he hasn’t replied to confirm the time.
I have a friend coming today. We are off to see the blossom and bluebells at the arboretum. Not sure how much may be left after our crazy weather. We will have their lovely bacon buns for lunch.
Harri pleased you have some support. Our local community team were amazing when DH was ill.
Lovely to hear of so many getting out and about. For those not well enough to join us flowers and ☀️
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

NannyJan53 Fri 07-May-21 08:20:19

Good morning from a very bright and sunny Black Country. I hope it stays that way.

Realised yesterday afternoon (after a FB memory came up) that it was 9 years since MrJ and myself met! So we are having a special meal tonight at home seeing as we cannot eat out indoors yet. I was a mere youngster of 58 then! smile

MrJ is on a club bike ride today, so I am trying to decide what to do. May just have a tootle to Mums and have a walk with her.

The Waterfall walk sounds wonderful MOMB I have made a note on my list of places to visit!

Love as always to all who are struggling with health worries, especially our dear Marydoll flowers

Grammaretto Fri 07-May-21 08:19:40

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I have finally dried out after yesterday's hill walk with U3A. We stopped to eat out soggy packed lunches on an old stone bridge - with no shelter.
But we are not made of sugar are we! Brr again today.
I want to have planted out my tatties and seedlings by now IYKWIM

I also have a decorator coming today to quote for tarting up a couple of rooms more disruption

I'm glad the DN is keeping an eye on you Harrigran smile
I was so impressed with the hospital at home team we had when DH was terminally ill. It wouldn't suit everyone but for us it was best option.

I hope the crack team (as DM used to call the top people) can work their magic Marydoll and it is so good to be cared for.

I shall add photos from my wet walk yesterday. Recovering, along with Dexter and Freddie today

Pittcity Fri 07-May-21 08:19:22

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
I'll put washing out this morning as it should stay dry for a while.
Waiting for a call from a GP at my new surgery about renewing my prescription. The automatic renewal was cancelled when I changed surgery but nobody thought to tell me. I found out when I went to order from the pharmacy. I hate waiting for these calls as the only said it would be in the morning. I daren't go to the loo.

We are having a bathroom window replaced "at lunchtime", why can't anyone commit to a time anymore?

Hopefully we can get to the supermarket this afternoon to stock up for the weekend.

Love to all x

Good morning from a bright M. Bucks.
Pleased to report no side effects from my 2nd jab other than I fell asleep around 8pm last night and woke about half an hour ago ( other than a couple of necessary trips across the landing). I was busy yesterday though.
Marydoll a little ray of hope for you.
Harrigan pleased you are getting some more support.
Not much planned today. DH is at golf. I’ll probably have a potter in the house and in the garden , weather permitting.
Hope you all find a ?today.
