Good Morning Everyone,
Its a bright and sunny start here in Brackley this morning, after yesterdays trip out having an easy day today .
Will do my usual shop ,and then stay in , also yesterday , I had my booking for 2nd jab next week , with a blood test health check the day after .
Mind you have form filling on the later, blood pressure average over 7 days , height , waist and weight plus alocholic consumption which will be hard to give details thanks to lockdowns .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is trying its best in South Yorkshire today, but it needs to try a bit harder! We have nothing much planned for today other than a trip to the bank, the butchers and a walk around the park. Maybe the rhododendrons will be out. Momb we love Ingleton. I’m envious?! Enjoy your walk.
Whatever everyone is doing, have a good day.

Not a cloud in the sky here kitty!

Grandmabatty Fri 07-May-21 08:12:29

Good morning all. Cloudy in Polmont and cold at 2°. I hope it warms up soon as I'm a bit fed up with layers of clothing.
Marydoll hopefully the research team can suggest something to help you. Baubles have a lovely time. That sounds like the best of both worlds! Nannytopsy it's good that your dh sees improvement in his legs. Gingster I sympathise as I hate being late for anything. I'm sorry to hear your daughter wasn't successful Gagagran. As you say, something better will turn up. Susan I have sympathy for you too with your mum. I have a difficult mum and I know how you feel. It's very frustrating.
Today I'll get food shopping done as I'm watching dgs tomorrow morning. Dd is going to the hairdresser and dsil works on a Saturday. I'll make leek and potato soup and a lemon drizzle cake as dd fancies those and she'll be at my house tomorrow for lunch. There's no point in me doing the housework today as the tiny dynamo will destroy it tomorrow! Whatever you get up to, I hope you have a good day.

Good morning, and a lovely morning it is here in Nottinghamshire. If it stays like this we may venture out for lunch again - I’ve been looking at local menus for something I can eat as I’m on a low residue diet - tedious and unhealthy!

Poor Freddie looks quite offended by his ‘babygro’. I hope it does the trick.

I hope the specialist team can be of help to you marydoll, it is hard being chronically ill when you’ve always been active and independent, as I well know.
I’m glad you are getting help harrigran, from someone you feel you will be able to trust. It will make such a difference.
gagagran, we never stop worrying about our children, do we? Even when they are very grown up and capable.

Wishing you all a gentle, pleasant day.

Good morning from a sunny but a little frosty Lincolnshire. Work today for me but I only have to upstairs. We had snow yesterday very strange weather we are having. It’s hard to believe how far through the year we have come.

Hope you all have a great day

kittylester Fri 07-May-21 07:55:33

Good morning all from a North Leicestershire that is rather more overcast than when dragonfly posted.

I have to nip into town to have a skin test before my colour appointment on Monday. And, we have the normal butcher's delivery this afternoon.

baubles Fri 07-May-21 07:53:16

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s rather dull and grey but at least the snow has gone.

Freddie looks less than thrilled with his new suit Dwm but in my experience they are far kinder than the cones.

Pity about your DD’s job disappointment Gaga, DoL is also in academia so I’m familiar with the stress of finding funds for research.

Glad you haven’t been forgotten by the heart team Marydoll.

Enjoy your walk Mombs

Our whole family are off to self catering lodges in the grounds of a Perthshire hotel today. The best of both worlds I think as we can use the hotel facilities but each have our own space. DD has booked lots of outdoor activities for the children and their parents, DH and I will mind the tinies indoors if the weather isn’t great.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day and a good weekend.

Nannytopsy Fri 07-May-21 07:52:38

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I think we would all struggle to fill that form in honestly Mick .
Marydoll despite being poorly and run off your feet yesterday, you sound very positive about the research project. Fingers crossed that you get some answers.
DH had a good hospital visit yesterday. He still has ulcers which are very painful but the legs are improving and he got answers, at last!
More work on the gravel area today and maybe start digging the new flowerbed. It’s a glorious morning - just hope it lasts.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

grannysyb Fri 07-May-21 07:49:07

Good morning all from a sunny Teddington. Plumber coming soon, the header tank has been overflowing, DH tried to mend it yesterday, it is a rather small space, given his back problems it was very difficult for him. Also have decorator coming to give a quote for the outside of the house, I was amazed when he responded to my text! Another one coming on Monday, I had contacted three others, no response, if tradesmen can't do the job why can't they let you know? Gardening today and pork casserole for supper. Have the best day possible everyone

Good morning from a sunny Black country. Not much planned today will probably spend some time in garden. Will read through later breakfast is calling.

brook2704 Fri 07-May-21 07:44:06

Apologies I think I posted twice by mistake!?‍♀️

cornergran Fri 07-May-21 07:42:05

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a bright, cold start to our corner of Somerset. Cloud forecast later, shame as yesterday we were told sunshine all day. Maybe some new seaweed for the forecasters.

Enjoyed an unexpected trip to a garden centre yesterday, outside, covered seating at the cafe gave us the opportunity to sit and enjoy a cuppa surrounded by beautiful plants

Another test drive this morning followed by a top up shop. Some clothes sorting to begin after lunch and that will be today done and dusted as they say.

I’m delighted you will be having some support harri. Thinking of everyone with health issues or other worries. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

brook2704 Fri 07-May-21 07:41:10

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny with some light cloud, it’s much better than yesterday but still cold.
No plans for today, I’ll probably enjoy pottering in the garden and maybe out for a walk this afternoon. DH has started back at his part time gardening job, it’s just a few hours a week keeping the garden tidy at one of the local pubs with quite a large garden. He’s happy doing it and I get an empty - a win all round!
Wishing more than anything that the specialist team can work their magic for you marydoll and you’re seen soon
Hope everyone out and about has a lovely day, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a sunny Essex. Weather forecast says sunny all day ?. I’m meeting a friend for brunch and hope it’s warm sitting outside. I’m going on the train (only 3 stops) as DH needs the car to take Twin GSs to the Orthodontist to have their braces adjusted.

Yesterday I had my hair done. The hairdresser agreed my natural colour and longer length suited me, so just a trim and blow dry. I was still at her house for nearly two hours. Boy can she talk! , so consequently I was late at my friends for lunch. I’m never late and hate people who are ?. I felt bad and I could tell, she wasn’t veery happy with me. Anyway we had a lovely chat with our lunch and she warmed up. ?.

I hope everyone has a good day, one way or another. ???

dragonfly46 Fri 07-May-21 07:26:49

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Dexter seems to have completely recovered from his op and is now eating normally. He seems to be a bit quieter so hoping it worked. Sorry to hear Freddie is still suffering.

I was pleased to hear you are getting extra support Harri.

Going into town today to the phone shop and to get a coffee.

Hope you feel better Mary and your kitchen is going well Cherry.

Marydoll Fri 07-May-21 07:25:18

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow. DH is of course golfing. MOBS, lovely to see you posting. I envy your energy and and have always enjoyed hearing where you are off to.

I am only up this early, because I got a message late last night, saying the 81 year old builder plans to come very early, sad to do some work. Its all go here this week, when basically I just want to curl up in bed!

Yesterday wasn't too good a day for me. I spent much of the afternoon being sick. All, at the same time, the decking materials unexpectedly arrived, the bank phoned to check that the decking transaction wasn't a fraud (pleased they are on the ball) and I had to move my car up the hill and walk down again, without a coat in a hailstorm,?❄ to allow for the decking to be delivered. (There was no hailstorm when I initially moved the car)

I did however, get some unexpected potentially good news yesterday.
I had been part of research, sponsored by BHF, involving Glasgow University and the National Specialist Heart Hospital into my heart condition, as I don't fit the usual criteria and the fact that many women have died after being sent home from hospital undiagnosed and their chest pain attributed to something unrelated to their heart. ( Initially happened to me). I was one of the lucky ones to be diagnosed by the team! Right place, right time!

I should have had an annual follow up in August, but of course Covid got in the way. I had assumed the research had been abandoned. It would have involved detailed scans etc, which wouldn't normally have been done after admission to coronary care unit in my local hospital.
Anyway, I received a letter apologising for the fact I hadn't been seen for eighteen months and they hoped to see me soon.(A day out, yippee!) I also received masses of paperwork, asking me to detail how I am faring at the moment. As I have obviously deteriorated, I'm hoping that they will pick up on that and I will get an early appointment.
Despite my own cardiologist informing me that nothing can be done for me, I have a tiny ray of hope in my heart, that the crème de la crème of cardiologists doing the research may have a some support to offer me. At the very least, I hope to get some definite answers from them, as to my prognosis.

DD wasn't planning on coming up this morning, as the Tesco delivery is small and I said I was fine, however she has decided I need some TLC and has insisted on taking charge! Heaven help my BP! ? She tried to add to my order last night and panic ensued when she triggered a fraud alert! ??. Life is certainly never dull here. ?

I haven't really been up to keeping up with things here, so I'm sending hugs and good wishes to all my GM friends, who are struggling and a warm welcome to any newcomers. There seem to be a lot of birthdays in May, my own included, so birthday greetings to any birthday people today. ????
I will come back later and catch up.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Gagagran Fri 07-May-21 07:14:36

Morning all from a sunny, bright but chilly south coast. Only 1.5c on my weather station.

DD rang with the news that she had not been successful at the job interview and I think she was expecting that. I told her there will be something else waiting for her round the next corner. Hope that helped a bit. She has been in academia since she was 18 so knows how things work but the research world involves obtaining grants to fund it and it gets both worrying and tiresome chasing funds. She was looking for more stability.

Another quiet day on our agenda and I have got so used to them that the idea of having to go somewhere feels quite daunting. I like our home and the easy pace we have and I am not sure that I shall resume my previous activities when they come available again. I don't seem to have the energy for them.

Thinking of all those who are struggling with things. I know how hard it is and I hope we all have the best day possible. sunshine

Ashcombe Fri 07-May-21 07:10:55

Freddie looks so woebegone, Dwmxwg! Have a safe trip and hope your back behaves. ?

Susan56 Fri 07-May-21 07:10:02

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had a bit of drama with my mum playing up yesterday?we weren’t sure if she was ill or just playing us up.In the end I called my brother who contacted her and she was absolutely fine?‍♀️

We’re looking after Henry today. No school pick up today as DGD has a party in the park after school so we will take H home a bit later today.

I am envious of you doing the waterfall walk today mumofmadboys,it really will be spectacular. We did it a couple of years ago in the middle of a heatwave?

Hope the ballet goes ahead Ash.We are waiting to see if shows booked ore pandemic are going ahead too.

Glad you are getting more help now harri.

Mary, hope the side effects are lessening and you are feeling better??and hope all is well with Cherry??

Have a good day all.

Dwmxwg Fri 07-May-21 07:05:38

Good morning from a sunny north Surrey.
My back still playing up but is better if I keep moving, won’t be helped by a journey today.
baubles I was reading through the GM thread yesterday and saw your post as DH arrived back from the vet with Freddie in a“babygro”. On my 2nd inspection of wound site I decided it looked infected, tried the cone but he went crazy for a few seconds and then sat without moving, each time he tried he was disorientated. Back to the vets and now has antibiotics and his new outfit, he is not impressed.
I am visiting a friend who has a holiday home near the Cotswold Water Park today, 4 of us will be travelling down for a good natter (one of whom is my sister), will be so good to see each other again.
The boys are still asleep so need to get them up and sorted and me too
Wishing all a happy Friday with ☀️?

harrigran Fri 07-May-21 06:54:02

Good morning from a sunny but cool NE.
Yesterday was eventful, DH was taken to have his injection by BIL and a male nurse turned up at my door. He declared himself to be the district nurse and he had been referred by the hospital. He is going to return on Monday, seems like a nice lad and thinks pretty much the way I do. So good to have some back up.
Sister is going to get me some shopping and has promised to make me a fish pie for Saturday dinner, nice to have a day off cooking.

Ashcombe Fri 07-May-21 06:46:38

Good morning Mick and company, on a perfect morning here in Torbay with clear blue sky and sun forecast all day.

I hope your back soon rights itself, Dwmxwg and that you enjoyed your walk yesterday once it started, Grammaretto. What happy news about another grandchild, Grandmadinosaur! That sounds like an epic journey, Susan56 but I’m sure it was appreciated and you are glad to have been. Super hair pics from Urmstongran and BlueSapphire!

Great to read of folk being out more with hair appointments and vaccinations being completed, too. I shall be having lunch with my lockdown buddy today at her home. In July, I hope to treat her to the ballet in Plymouth, where “Cinderella” should be staged by Birmingham Royal Ballet, postponed from pre pandemic!

Have the best of days, everyone and I hope Marydoll is feeling better. ???

grannytilly2511 Fri 07-May-21 06:33:50

mumofmadboys Fri 07-May-21 06:25:11

Good morning all! Meeting a friend at Ingleton today to do the Waterfall walk. Should be quite spectacular with recent heavy rain. Hope all have a good day especially those with illness or worries.
