Bar, Tea Room, Spa, AB12 ....is there no end to our talents.
All are welcome to join in our virtual enterprise. ?

AGAA4 Thu 20-May-21 16:59:14

We can ask Florrie the flower seller to let us have her leftover roses free if we let her bring her beau. I told her we had sold out but as her beau is loaded we can manage 2 more tickets. She is hoping he will propose so will need champagne (or similar)

Do you think some light classical music would be right for the occasion? Or mood music, whatever that is.

brook2704 Thu 20-May-21 17:27:18

I wonder if the musicians can play

The way you look tonight
How deep is your love
I’ve only got eyes for you
Killing me softly
Wonderful tonight

Hopefully that should do for starters

ixion Thu 20-May-21 17:44:10

After all that freezer lugging, brook, killing me softly brings me out in goosebumps☹️

brook2704 Thu 20-May-21 18:41:45

Shushhhh ixion don’t let the secret out...

brook2704 Thu 20-May-21 18:55:35

Scrub a dub dub Admiral Mary Rose says she’s looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for dinner a deux
Aga the suit from Tom the Tailors sounds good but I think he could do with some new undergarments as well seen as the last lot somehow ended up on the flagpole at Lemongrove Manor

Doodle Thu 20-May-21 19:01:49

ixion I misread your idea and thought you suggested that we send May on a cruise to get her out of the way! I think either option would be suitable. Please book her on a course starting tomorrow

Brook OMG we’ve got our bookings mixed up. It’s not the WAGs who like the Admiral’s stories it was the WI.! We can’t let him near the WAGs they will be bored to tears. Thor’s cocktails will be great, how about we ask him and Fronc to entertain the WAGs with some cocktail shaking.

We will have to get busy to clear up for lovers night.
Your ideas are great by the way.
Great idea to invite the Lemongroves. . Do you think a lovers night and a table for two will rekindle their romance ?

ixion Thu 20-May-21 19:23:06

Panic not - I chose the guest speaker entertainment carefully.
Wives and Girlfriends of the local 'Handbell Ringers Society'.
They have a lot of free time on their hands...and in need of a little light distraction.

Incidentally, I have secured the services, to add a little class to the tea rooms, of Colin the Cocktail Maker. For one night only.
Keep him away from Thor and Fronc.

brook2704 Thu 20-May-21 20:07:22

Phew that’s good ixion the WAGs of the local handbell ringers will be enthralled I’m sure with the Admirals tales.
Im sure Colin will bring a touch of class to the tearoom, but I’ve just remembered that we’ve got Lickalot Lizzie’s hen party do booked in at the same time .....somehow we’ll have to keep them apart ?

lemongrove Thu 20-May-21 21:02:12

Too right we enjoy an upmarket bash! Proper old culture cultures me and Lord L. Reserve a table for two please!
Try and keep him off the whisky for the night though, sparkling water only as I am tired of having to carry him over my shoulder up the sweeping staircase of Lemongrove Manor.
I know that I’m twice his size but dead drunk he’s a dead weight.Besides, he gets flirty when sozzled and has a penchant for barmaids and waitresses.

Doodle Thu 20-May-21 21:08:48

Oh ixion I like Colin. Shame we’ve only got him for one night. So let me see if I’ve got this right, we’ve got WAGs in the tearoom. In the afternoon, romantic dinners for two in the tearoom in the evening AND Lickalot Lizzie’s hen party......we’ll have to have that in the Argy. Who’s in care of our calendar .....*IXION*!!! Have you mastered those spreadsheets yet?

Doodle Thu 20-May-21 21:11:54

lemon you deserve a treat after Reggie let you down. We will have a lovely romantic table for you and Lord Lemongrove. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have got rid of sent May Hem on her course. With Thor and Fronc in the tea room I hope there won’t be any floosies to temp his Lordship.

brook2704 Thu 20-May-21 21:26:08

Wow a full house tomorrow then, I do hope you and Lord L enjoy the evening Lemon I’m not sure he’ll stick to the sparkling water though .. we’ll have to keep him upstairs away from the girls in the Argy

Doodle Thu 20-May-21 21:27:57

brook perhaps we could serve LordL flavoured water and pretend it’s gin. I could get the llamas to round him up if he gets anywhere near the girls,

ixion Thu 20-May-21 21:34:47

Really doodle. We really must channel bookings through one booking clerk.

May goes off tomorrow prontissimo for NVQ Level 1 in Hospitality. I have apologised that the College is so far away, but I have given her the ferry timetable and a EHIC card.
With any luck, when she has mastered the module on "How to run a business diary" (15 points), we shouldn't have these double bookings.

We will put Lizzie Lickalot and entourage in the hot tub with Colin (as it were). He can shake and rattle his equipment ad naus. for the girlies.
WAGS and Admiral in the Tea Rooms at 3pm, then a quick declutter and stage set for the evening romance.
Put Lord Lemon at a table with his back to the tub. And if he shows an unhealthy interest in the Hen bash, replace the fizzy water with a vat load of poteen to render him senseless and we'll llama-sled him home for you lemon.

Doodle Thu 20-May-21 21:46:54

Ooh ixion I didn’t realise Colin could do that with his assets. A multi talented young man. Can you see if you can get his here once a week and maybe set up a Colin’s Cocktail evening?

Sorry you are quite right about the bookings, I shall come to you in future we can’t all book stuff in (and I can’t work the computer thingy anyway) ?

AGAA4 Fri 21-May-21 15:59:55

The WAGs of the bell ringers are a rough lot. We will need to get them out of the tea room soon to prepare for lover's night.

I am a bit worried about Fronc and Thor. What if we have misread the signs and it's not Fronc that Thor is besotted by. It could get very awkward blush

Thor seems a lot happier this week as we go about poteen brewing. He keeps singing "I'm too sexy for my shirt" and as he only wears a thong that may be true.

ixion Fri 21-May-21 16:15:17

I was just coming to clear up AGA. TBH, I'm surprised, thought they'd be a tad more refined
I managed to dissuade their formidable spokesperson that we couldn't manage a visit from the Band (?), at least until our Diary Secretary returned from her loan to the Cabinet Office...
I have to blame The Admiral. He really is a PNG in any of the ConGlom enterprises.

Let's get him hosed down spruced up for tonight and hope that Mary Rose whisks him off into the sunset.

I will start on the tables and create a suitable ambience for Romantics. Or at least my humble attempt- it's been a while☹️
How about doing what Beetle Drives speed-dating does?
Move 'em round every once in a while which might be better for the Thor/Fronc partnering.

ixion Fri 21-May-21 16:16:25

PS who's on food? Or is it just bubbly and freshly farmed oysters?

AGAA4 Fri 21-May-21 16:26:01

Theo has been down to the docks for oysters. The llamas ran off when I mentioned steaks may be a good idea.

I thought we could start them off with a pint of poteen. We have decanted lemonade with a touch of champagne essence into the old champers bottles. They won't know the difference after the poteen.

AGAA4 Fri 21-May-21 16:30:00

We do need a booking secretary - Not May Hem! The phone is ringing all day with bookings. We are going to double or even treble book if we don't get someone soon.
Any ideas ixion? Should I ask Leo? He seems to be good at multi-tasking.

brook2704 Fri 21-May-21 16:42:42

I’ll help with the clearing up and getting the tables ready ixion it certainly looks like there’s been a party here this afternoon
The strawberries to dip in chocolate have arrived, they look a bit past it but I got them at a really good price from the market. When they’re covered in chocolate no one will notice anyhow. I’ve got the chocolate fountain ready for the middle of the room, someone just needs to make sure there’s no spillage and it’s kept topped up. Beware though of anyone especially the Admiral trying to dip anything but strawberries in it....
oooh goody the phones busy with lots of bookings ... yep AGA I’d say ask Leo if you think he’d manage it ...

AGAA4 Fri 21-May-21 16:53:27

We need to keep the llamas away from the chocolate fountain as well as the Admiral. Going to be a busy night.

AGAA4 Fri 21-May-21 16:56:54

Should we give the Lemongroves the table overlooking the puddle mere?
I have lots of rose petals to scatter on the tables.

ixion Fri 21-May-21 16:58:37

Leo sounds great - the twin?
But doodle must continue running AB12 in view of the top security ops.
I am up to my neck in regular lav cleaning. (And, may I say, such an honour so to be)
