Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, its 8° here.
GM, good to hear your son has a ticket home, albeit not under the best circumstances. It will be relief to have your boy back!
Mick, I notice you haven't reported any side effects after your second jag, so good news there.
My fifteen days are now up after the AZ vaccination, so I can get out and about more, with caution. Due to my suppressed immune system and meds, I have been advised that no vaccine will be as effective for me as others. It's strange, but I have lost the inclination, to wander around the shops or go anywhere busy, probably the only plus side of the pandemic!
Yesterday, turned out to be full on again! I needed to repot a red gooseberry bush I bought, but realised that I had run out of pots. As the nearest B&M is only ten minutes away, but will be in a different level as of today, off I trotted. I came back potless. ? The shelves were empty! Is that a knock on effect from the Suez problem or not?
A street conference with neighbours followed, when I started pottering about the front garden, an people came out to chat. It was a rare glimpse of normality. The icing on the cake was an old friend turning up with a birthday gift of chocolates. I held court ?from the top of my stairs, addressing my public. ? A very pleasant afternoon indeed!
I have an empty today, but am going out with the Ebay queen for an outing in her car, masked and with the roof down! Glasgow in May, it will be baltic
Unfortunately, she was unaware that Glasgow are stuck in Level 3, so as we live on the boundary and now in level 2, we cannot go into town, unless we have a legitimate reason. Charity shop rummaging isn't a legitimate reason! ?
I'm getting quite anxious, as the Indian variant is spreading rapidly here. Yesterday Jason Leitch commented that there were concerns about our area and they are monitoring things. Our numbers are rising alarmingly again. Why can't people follow the rules? I couldn't cope with another term of shielding, I have waited so long for a hug from my family and especially from my wee Dollie! ☹
DS is being ultra cautious, now she is back at school and afraid she will pass something on to me.
Thinking of Susan and hoping Cherry has had a restful, incident free night. Also wishing GMfrench a speedy recovery from the painful knees and that Auntieflo, has recovered from her A&E visit.
Enjoy your day, everyone.
