Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey overhead but at the moment its dry here in Brackley.
Today a quiet day in nothing planned apart from watching the drama unfold in the cycle race in Italy.
Will tinker about my flat today.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all. A gloriously sunny morning on the S Welsh coast.
Sorry you are feeling low grandMattie it is hard to find any positives at times, life feels as though we are just bumping along the bottom doesn't it. My best wishes to you.

You will have to find a new spot to keep your eggs Maw.
Our pup is 11 months old now and he can jump so high, so everything has to be moved well back from the edge of the worktops. Looking forward to a walk with him today.
Hope that Cherry, Susan, Aunty Flo are ok.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. A grey start in Suffolk after a pretty good day yesterday. I cut the grass ( it really doesn’t deserve to be called a lawn!) and it made such a difference.
I am taking my sewing machine to the village hall today to make new curtains. There will be four of us, well spaced out. We have checked fabric, so we need to line up the squares for 5 windows. Not as easy as a plain fabric!
? for grandMattie & Grandmafrench and ? for everyone else.

Good morning all from another gorgeous start to the day on the east coast of Fife where the suns shining bright.

Might have to cease my napping throughout the day my sleep last night wasn’t too good, mind you it’s no wonder I was restless having consumed a box of maltesers all to myself. Gluttony comes to mind.

There’s the neighbours hard at it knocking and bashing their house into shape. Shouldn’t be too long now before all their work is complete then the lovely young couple can move into their first home. My dainty wee granddoggy goes to hospital today hope he gets on okay it’s costing his mum and dad a fortune even with doggy insurance.

Have a good day everyone and continue to dae as yer telt.

ginny Mon 17-May-21 08:19:13

Good morning. DH has golf today so I shall be pottering on my own. Jobs around the house to catch up on.
I’m going to treat myself and order some sandals and casual shoes and some. natural soaps.
If the rain holds off I’ll pop down to town and then have a wander down by the river.
? to those who are feeling sad or poorly.
Hope you all find a ?today.

Good morning from S Lanarkshire, dry and with a reasonably good forecast?
Huge day for me, I’m off to look after my two youngest GC for two hours after school. It’s an hour’s drive each way and, as I haven’t been doing anything like that for nearly 17 months I had intended to take the train in case I feel tired on the way home. However I would have to change trains in Glasgow and as Marydoll has said, it’s ‘out of bounds’ again so I’ll just be careful on my return journey.
I am so happy but also ‘nevaxcited’ for some reason!

Hoe you feel better as the day goes on grandMattie and that your injuries aren’t too painful today Grandmafrench, your fall sounded horrific.

I’ve just heard the National Youth Choir of Scotland on BBC Breakfast, singing ‘You raise me up’, in the open air on top of Carlton Hill in Edinburgh, I hope some of you caught it, absolutely beautiful.

Wishing everyone the best day possible ??

Good morning Muck, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is looking rather grey.

An unexpectedly warm day yesterday led to me pottering about outside doing some ‘yard work’ as my cousins across the pond call it. Not so much gardening as sweeping and picking up bits of twigs. No idea where it all comes from, there must be some very busy birds dropping nesting materials as they cross our wee patch.

Well today’s the day at last. I’ll be going into DD’s house for the first time since last summer. The girls will all be at school and we will look after their brother so DD & SiL can go out for lunch together. I don’t know when they were last able to have time to themselves.

I hope everyone who is able to meet family or friends today has a lovely time and a virtual hug for those who aren’t yet able to.

grandMattie, I’m sorry you’re feeling so low, a huge hug for you.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. It is cold and wet and I am supposed to be going on a Bluebell walk with the U3A. I cannot stop yawning. I will get the bus to the start point and since I haven't been on a bus for about a year I am nervous.
Your tale of the Ebay queen Marydoll reminds me of a film I love called secondhand wedding it's a funny/weepie

Sorry you are down today grandMattie. I blame the weather and the phases of the moon/day of the week but I hope you can soon get back your joie de vivre.
I took my DS dog for a walk yesterday and we met an identical one.grin

Good morning all from a grey skyed Essex. Yesterday , as Sar says it rained on and off all day and last evening it was torrential.

We had the family round and a merry time was had by all , sitting in the conservatory with doors open .

Today the diabetes nurse will be phoning at 8.20 with more results of DH’s blood test and advice re diet and meds. I hope she does phone this time as last week we were hanging about for the call which never came ?.

Mattie. - I do hope you start to feel a bit more cheerful, with news of your son coming home. ?.

Grandmafrench - hopefully, you are feeling less sore today. What a trip you had ?. ?.

Urms love the rainbow umbrella. Little DG has just been given a raincoat covered In flamingos. The little girls would look so cheerful walking along together , one with rainbows and the other with flamingos ??.

Not much doing today. Might finish my book and order some wool for a baby blanket. We won’t know what sex the baby is , so will probably go for cream.

Wishing you all a pleasant day ?

Urmstongran Mon 17-May-21 08:02:09

Me too Sar it’s my most favourite pie. ?
Just a large slice.

grandmajet Mon 17-May-21 07:59:05

Sar, save me some cheese and onion pie please. ?

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, with showers forecast again today. I live in hopes though, and have just put a load of washing in the machine. Just sitting here with my cup of tea and a cat on my lap having her morning cuddle.

Had a lovely time at the shops yesterday with DD. I returned the stuff that didn't fit, bought the next size up T-shirt, and found a shoulder bag for half price in Accessorize. Some new make-up in Boots was also acquired, along with a pack of daily low dose aspirins. Then we sat out in the sun and enjoyed a caramel latte. Nearly bought a new phone, but apparently they could not sell me the one I wanted; it was only available on a contract. However I have found it elsewhere, so will order it and take it over to DD's next time, when they will set it up for me. I've had my present phone for about 6 years and it is starting to make weird noises.

Yesterday would have been DH's birthday, so it was good to have company for most of the day. We raised a glass in his memory; he would have been 78, and I miss him so much.

Not much planned for today, just a bit of tidying up, knitting and reading, and get some lamb chops out of the freezer for dinner tonight.

Sorry you are feeling down, *grand Mattie"; hope that you and everyone else find a bit of sunshine ? today.

Pittcity Mon 17-May-21 07:55:38

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
The carpenter has just arrived to put the doors on our wardrobes. This afternoon I will start filling them and may need to nip to Wilko's for more hangers as I threw a lot of broken ones out when we moved.

Sad to hear of the death of a GNer on another thread. Sending love to the family and friends of Daisyboots flowers

Big hugs to all x

brook2704 Mon 17-May-21 07:55:03

Good morning everyone from our little holiday cottage on the west coast. We’re packing up the car soon and heading back to Inverness after a lovely weekend away.
I hope you’re feeling a bit brighter soon grandmattie life has changed so much due to lockdown it’s difficult to adjust sometimes
We’ve been so lucky with the weather, yesterday it was sunny and we enjoyed a long walk to the Falls of Glomach which were stunning and well worth the 12 mile hike!
Oh dear maw I hope Rosie is ok today and what a kind friend you have to clear up for you
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles today, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gelisajams Mon 17-May-21 07:50:37

Good morning. all from a wet Morecambe Bay.
Hope Grandmafrench is feeling better after her mishap yesterday and Grandmattie feels brighter soon.
I’m off to the gym this morning. First time in fifteen months. I feel slightly apprehensive but cases here are low and I’ve been double jabbed.
There’s still no progress on the arbour although after a gentle reminder DH says he will triple check his measurements (again) and get the wood ordered today. Watch this space- I’m not holding my breath!
Take care everyone and stay safe ???

dragonfly46 Mon 17-May-21 07:39:21

Good morning it is very dull here.

I need to sort out the garage today and find my yoga mat. I have a class tomorrow.

It is very quiet here without Dexter!

So sorry you are feeling down GrandMattie I hope you pick up soon. I didn’t see you had had a fall GrandmaFrench hope the bruises are not too blue.
Rosie must be in wonderland in your home Maw after 3 years in kennels, so much to explore (and attack)!

Grandmabatty Mon 17-May-21 07:38:22

Good morning all. It's grey in Polmont but I hope it will brighten up later. The last few days have done just that. Grandmattie I'm sorry to hear that you feel low. Hopefully your son coming home will help. Dobby is the name of a character from Harry Potter.
Today I'm on babysitting duties. Dgs loves the outdoors so it'll be a trip to the park, then after his nap we'll go into the garden. However you spend your day, I hope you have a good one.

NannyJan53 Mon 17-May-21 07:37:44

Good morning from a cloudy but brighter Black Country,

We are off to Somerset today to take the caravan out of storage, and stay until Thursday. Weather not looking brilliant, but it is a few days away. So up earlier, as need to pack a few clothes and toiletries.

Sorry you are feeling down grandMattie flowers

harrigran talking of Doc Martens. My DD begged me to buy her some when she was 14. They were worth the money, as she wore them every day for 2 years. Over £50 was a lot for the early 90's. Now she wouldn't thank you for a pair smile

Had a video call yesterday withNeice in Brisbane. She dislocated her knee whilst dancing! Is now on crutches. I think she feels the lack of family around her at this time. She must have a weakness there as it happened when she was at University 10 years ago.

So pleased you enjoyed being with the family at the weekend NanKate . You can now recover at your leisure!

Obviously Rosie was missing her Mum Maw. What a lovely friend to clear it all up for you.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Ellianne Mon 17-May-21 07:30:55

Good morning.
Our holiday is racing by too quickly, Why is it good times go so fast, but bad lockdown days seem to last forever?
I hope GrandmaFrench isn't too bruised after that fall. Scary.

dogsmother Mon 17-May-21 07:25:33

Good morning all from the Channel, wind has dropped and it’s a whole lot brighter generally. Plenty to do today as Monday seems to be general housework day.
Do hope Rosie doesn’t have repercussions....

Sar53 Mon 17-May-21 07:22:46

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is dry at the moment. It rained on and off all day yesterday.
I have some admin to do this morning, a cheese and onion pie to make for dinner and I need to go and pick up a prescription from the chemist. DH is going to do some work on his boat, I've said I will go and help him tomorrow
I'm sorry you are feeling low GM, I think we all have days like that. You must be pleased that your son is coming home although he will have to isolate for two weeks.
Have a marvellous Monday everyone and find that ? xx

Marydoll Mon 17-May-21 07:22:21

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, its 8° here.

GM, good to hear your son has a ticket home, albeit not under the best circumstances. It will be relief to have your boy back!

Mick, I notice you haven't reported any side effects after your second jag, so good news there.
My fifteen days are now up after the AZ vaccination, so I can get out and about more, with caution. Due to my suppressed immune system and meds, I have been advised that no vaccine will be as effective for me as others. It's strange, but I have lost the inclination, to wander around the shops or go anywhere busy, probably the only plus side of the pandemic!

Yesterday, turned out to be full on again! I needed to repot a red gooseberry bush I bought, but realised that I had run out of pots. As the nearest B&M is only ten minutes away, but will be in a different level as of today, off I trotted. I came back potless. ? The shelves were empty! Is that a knock on effect from the Suez problem or not?

A street conference with neighbours followed, when I started pottering about the front garden, an people came out to chat. It was a rare glimpse of normality. The icing on the cake was an old friend turning up with a birthday gift of chocolates. I held court ?from the top of my stairs, addressing my public. ? A very pleasant afternoon indeed!

I have an empty today, but am going out with the Ebay queen for an outing in her car, masked and with the roof down! Glasgow in May, it will be baltic
Unfortunately, she was unaware that Glasgow are stuck in Level 3, so as we live on the boundary and now in level 2, we cannot go into town, unless we have a legitimate reason. Charity shop rummaging isn't a legitimate reason! ?
I'm getting quite anxious, as the Indian variant is spreading rapidly here. Yesterday Jason Leitch commented that there were concerns about our area and they are monitoring things. Our numbers are rising alarmingly again. Why can't people follow the rules? I couldn't cope with another term of shielding, I have waited so long for a hug from my family and especially from my wee Dollie! ☹
DS is being ultra cautious, now she is back at school and afraid she will pass something on to me.

Thinking of Susan and hoping Cherry has had a restful, incident free night. Also wishing GMfrench a speedy recovery from the painful knees and that Auntieflo, has recovered from her A&E visit.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

cornergran Mon 17-May-21 07:18:35

Morning Mick, morning All, a much brighter sky over our temporary home, we’re off to explore some Cornish coves and hoping for an inside seat for lunch.

Pleased you got to see Flynn maw, your Rosie must have fancied an omelette for her lunch. We’re in an up and down sort of world I think grandMattie, I understand that feeling of lack of purpose only too well, hope today gets brighter for you.

Look after yourselves everyone, hope Monday is kind to us all.

NanKate Mon 17-May-21 07:18:11

Morning Mickand All.

Another overcast day here in South Bucks.

Saw the family for the first time since last October yesterday, what a grand reunion.?? The house is pretty much a wreck but it was worth it.

So sorry grandMattie you are feeling so low. Will send you some good vibes that will help you through this dark spell. Maybe the prospect of seeing your son after such a long time will give you the spark you need. ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 17-May-21 07:17:17

Morning Mick and all

Sorry Grandmattie you are feeling down, maybe focusing on your dear son coming hone is something to look forward to?

Oh dear Maw poor Rosie maybe she panicked without you!

It’s grey and drizzle is on the air, off to the gym this morning, then pottering around.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?
