It’s grey again here in Nottinghamshire. Maybe June will be sunny this year.
Oh, grandmafrench, that sounds like an awful fall. I hope you are recovering now - these things happen all too easily don’t they, as we get older and forget how to bounce.
GrandMattie, it won’t be long until your son is home. I think this weather is getting to us at the moment.
dwm, fingers crossed for the haircut to happen.
Yesterday we had some family for a garden visit and we had to resort to the carport a couple of times due to ??. Nice to see them anyway. Grandpajet went for a walk with Grandson and they saw a badger sett and a foxhole. No actual badgers or foxes though.
Not much on today, so I’ll just say, have a pleasant day and I hope you find a ?

Morning all from a drying-out south coast and 12.9c so milder. The week is set to be showery again so there will be no need to water the pots, which are flourishing after all the recent downpours.

So sorry you are feeling a bit blue *Mattie and hope something nice happens to lift your spirits. flowers. Not long till your DS is back and that will put a smile on your face I am sure! Seeing my own DS always does that for me.

We had a quiet day yesterday. DH abandoned his club bike ride due to the torrential showers after realising that none of his chums were going to venture out. There was a lot of sport on TV for him to enjoy and I joined him to watch the Giro highlights last night.

Nothing much planned for today but something will turn up I expect.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Good morning all from a grey ish North Leicestershire. Our weather always seems to be a bit ish all the time.

A pootling and faffing day here. One think often leads to another and I have a couple of bags of paperbacks to take to the library today.

On Saturday I rang our local Headway shop to check they were happy to take the 6 bags of stuff we had and if there was anything they wouldn't take. When we turned up DH had to almost beg them to accept the bags. So disappointing. We support Headway as they were brilliant with DS1 after his stroke.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
We escaped the rain yesterday but it stayed dull all day.
Family sent photos of purchases on shopping trip, both GDs got new Dr Marten boots. The girls have very large feet and they will look even bigger now.
DH has hospital appointment this morning, BIL will take him and give me time to get some jobs done.
Hope everyone finds something to brighten their day.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it dry at least but with total white cloud cover. It’s bound to cheer up soon because I’ve ordered a children’s rainbow umbrella for our 4y old little miss, who saw a lady with a golfing one on our way home from school in the pouring rain on Thursday!
“^I wish I could have one of those grandma^”....

Sorry to hear you’re feeling low GrandMattie perhaps knowing your son has a date for flying home will cheer you. MawBe the smashed eggs by Rosie made me laugh. With those long legs she has some reach!

We have absolutely no plans other than I might bob down in the lift later to have a coffee indoors just because we can! My stepfather is off to have a couple of pints this evening with a friend at their bowling club. Ooh - the 7am train to Liverpool Lime Street has just pulled into the station amselerin! And off it goes ...

Keep safe everybody. x

Good morning everybody from grey N Bucks.
As usual, feeling a little wiped out by my drive to and from London yesterday, fortunately smooth and trouble free in both directions, but it’s still 1 1/2 hours each way.
Flynn was one very happy boy, still high from the day before’s Pokemon treasure hunt with his school friends.
Rosie... well I don’t think she has accepted being left yet (strange when she has spent the last 3 years in kennels) but the friend who came round to see to her found that she had managed to nudge the basket of eggs I keep by the side of the cooker down onto the floor, smashing over a dozen!
Hmm. My friend is a gem and cleared it all up too (rather her than me)
Goodness know what licking up a dozen eggs, broken shells and all will have done to Rosie’s digestive system, I think I may be keeping a lot of windows open today!
Wishing you all a more fragrant day!

Sorry, that should be a capital B for Beechnut....!

Ashcombe Mon 17-May-21 06:35:03

Good morning from a bright, sunny Torbay but with rain on its way to prevent us becoming accustomed to the sunshine!

grandMattie: I hope you can find something to cheer you. This long lockdown and the weather is affecting us all in some way. Even our normally upbeat priest admitted to being in the doldrums yesterday.

Apologies to beechnut for my faux pas, yesterday and thank you for your gracious response. Lovely photos from brook2704 and Ellianne yesterday. I hope you have safe homeward journeys.

Enjoy the beginning of a taste of freedom this week, everyone! ?

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. A dry start and fingers crossed it stays that way. What a lot of rain over the weekend!

I’m having my breakfast early in bed as I’m off swimming this morning. Later I may go and do some diy shopping. Get the things I want ready for dry days.

I hope you all have a good day and Mattie I hope the thought of your son coming home soon cheers you up ?

Good morning from overcast north Surrey. Just waiting in car park for the gym to open.
GrandMattie life is such a rollercoaster at the moment, hope today brings you a ? or two.
I haveDGD2 today (8months old), if her routine will allow I hope to take her to see my mum and dad.
Also hoping my hairdresser turns up as she didn’t acknowledge my txts (she is DGDs auntie so that might lure her here)
Wishing all a good day, will catch up later

grandMattie Mon 17-May-21 06:24:20

God morning from an overcast E Kent. It drizzled for most of yesterday. We’ve had more rain in the last couple of weeks than for most of the spring so far, although it has been cold and grey for most of it.
Sheep, thank you so much for asking Iris to name the little bull calf. She was really thrilled - though where Dobby came from, goodness knows.*Grandmafrench*, what an unfortunate fall, I hope your knees and thumbs improve fast. Plug on with the arnica, one of the best remedies - and by mouth, homeopathic tablets as well if you can get them.
I got the DGDs a subscription to a baking company; they get one recipe per month. Yesterday’s effort was a magnificent Greek yoghurt chocolate cake. A splendid and delicious looking affair.
DS1 has got a ticket home from India on 26 May. He’s resigned to spending a fortnight locked in a hotel room.
Feeling rather low again, snivelling and miserable. Life seems pointless at the moment.
Hope everyone has a good day, full of smiles ?, sunshine ☀️ and the odd flamingo ????

Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey overhead but at the moment its dry here in Brackley.
Today a quiet day in nothing planned apart from watching the drama unfold in the cycle race in Italy.
Will tinker about my flat today.
Take Care,
Mick
