Good morning all from a brightish N. Bucks.
Harrigan sorry to hear about you DHs appointment, just awful.
Grandmattie glad you feel a bit better. Would you be able to go on a break with a friend or even on your own ?
I think we might venture into Milton Keynes today. There are a number of things we need and it would be good to see them first. Haven’t been there for so long and do feel a little apprehensive.
Hope everyone finds a ?today.

Good morning from Nottinghamshire where it looks a bit grey.
I’m shocked that you weren’t informed of the cancellation, harrigran. Your poor DH.
GrandMattie, it sounds as if you have a few things to look forward to, meeting with your T’ai Chi friends may well cheer you up.
I think you will enjoy your day, Sar, with the birds and the peace, just don’t do any tricky bits!
Not much for us today, Tesco delivery, then a Covid test for me prior to my admission on Thursday. Yesterday we joined forces for a house clean so maybe a bit of weeding this afternoon.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning Mick and all from a S Hants that’s clouding over, we have more rain due later. Pleased you’re feeling cheerier gM, enjoy your break and seeing family Ash.
Harrigran that’s appalling, I’d be furious too. No mega plans today, didn’t get my hugs yesterday with DD and GC’s, they had a birthday to go to which DD had forgotten about. Tonight our granddaughter has netball, busy lives.
Enjoy your day all.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Usual early wake up call from our bin men mustn't complain they are very good.
We are meeting friends this evening at local social club for a drink, DH is looking forward to a proper pint?
Enjoy your break Ash
Have a lovely day everyone ?

Good morning all. It's sunny in Polmont although I think thundery showers are forecast. I'll make the most of the sun while it's here. Lots of interesting plans on here today. A posh lunch sounds very nice Scentia. Enjoy your road trip Ashcombe. It is a pity you and your dh are still apart. Those are lovely flowers Grandmattie. Harrigran that's a scandalous way to treat ill folk!
We had such a good time yesterday. The park was very quiet and peaceful. All the usual ducks were fed and dgs was in Paroxysms of delight because the grass cutter was working. We bumped into someone I had been at school with and it was really nice to see her. Then in the garden in the afternoon and I stayed for tea when I took him home. Mince, tatties and what my Irish gran called dough boys but are dumplings. It was lovely. Then a piece of dd's baking. White chocolate, raspberry and mascerpone cake.
Today is a babysitting one. We'll probably head to the park again, after a visit to the fish man. I'm expecting someone to give me a price for trimming the many hedges I have which are too high for me to manage. That is, if he turns up. I've lost faith in trades appearing. And that'll be my day. Whatever your day holds,I hope you have a good one.

Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay.
Enjoy your break Ashcombe and a very Happy Birthday.
Harrigran how frustrating for your poor DH. It’s really not acceptable.
My DH did the final costings for our arbour yesterday. It came out at twice the price of buying one. The original estimate was to be about the same price. He wants to build build it but I think I’m going to persuade him to build me a greenhouse instead and buy a ready made arbour.
We are off to plant some summer tubs for my DiL later. Hopefully it will stay dry.
Take care and stay safe everyone ???

Good morning all from dry Harrogate. I spy a bit of blue sky!!
See if I can do better this morning with my post - yesterday the dog knocked my phone just before I pressed ‘post’ and it disappeared. Tried again 2 hours later it just refused to post. It finally went at midday after 4 hours of trying, but I had to take the photo off of my DGS’s bid for freedom.
The main thing I do today - is go to the hairdresser and have my witches locks shorn off!! WOW!!
Harri you should write a complaint to the hospital, that is a disgusting way to be treated!!
GrandMattie I’m glad you found your ? flamingo, they hide around the corner!!
Have the best day you can folks enjoy the sunshine if you are lucky enough to get any!

Greyduster Tue 18-May-21 07:23:14

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s raining in South Yorkshire at the moment. We both have early dental appointments today - the first since before covid. Then we have no plans for the rest of the day. See what comes up! Enjoy whatever you’re doing today folks.

Sar53 Tue 18-May-21 07:20:12

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining, for now. Rain is forecast later.
I've offered to go and help DH do some painting on his boat. I'm not really feeling the love (for painting), but it is very peaceful on the pontoon and there are lots of birds. One boat, moored nearby, was at the D Day landings and has a lot of history attached to it.
I'm glad you are feeling more up beat GM and enjoy your break Ash seeing your family after all this time. It will be my turn tomorrow and I am very excited.
Enjoy Tuesday everyone and find that ? xx

Nannytopsy Tue 18-May-21 07:19:00

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Beautiful blue skies in Suffolk - so far ... I just hope we have more sunshine than showers today.
The thread seems to have started on a jolly note - long May it last!
We have a friend coming to stay while her husband is just up the coast golfing. Lots of talking and eating but less Prosecco than you would expect as she doesn’t drink!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

brook2704 Tue 18-May-21 07:06:24

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright dry start to the day
I’ll be catching up on jobs at home today and in the garden, the grass is growing quickly so they’ll be mowing to do as well. And a shopping trip to replenish the cupboards which are looking a bit bare!
That’s really bad harrigran that there wasn’t any cancellation notice from the hospital, no wonder you’re annoyed.
Pleased you’re feeling a bit better grandmattie and that you’ll be seeing your DS2 soon. Lovely pictures too thank you
Have a safe journey Ash and enjoy seeing your family and friends. Hopefully you’ll be reunited with olddudders soon!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is kind and take care all whatever the day brings ?

kittylester Tue 18-May-21 07:06:00

Good morning all from my bit of Leicestershire where we have clouds. I wonder if they are on their way to or from dragonfly?

DH has a cystoscopy this morning but is going on his own as I am not allowed in with him

I have lots of phone calls to do and then a Zoom Memory Cafe this afternoon.

Enjoy your days all.

Scentia Tue 18-May-21 07:02:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is a lit brighter this morning.
Ashcombe I do hope you have the best holiday.
I am trying to get DH to come out for dinner with me but he never liked restaurants before Covid so is really not keen. He is basically saying “I will come, but I won’t enjoy it!!!”
I said it’s ok I’ll go with someone else, so I have booked a table for DGS and myself for lunch after swimming on Wednesday?. It is such a posh restaurant I hope he enjoys the posh food and doesn’t lob it across the room!!!
Have the best day folks and smile as much as you can???

Beechnut Tue 18-May-21 07:00:54

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Severnside.

I had a scam email from TV Licensing yesterday. Apparently there seems to be irregularities in my current profile that I must update to avoid termination of my motoring licence.
I don’t think it matters, we got rid of our tele on a wheeled stand years ago ?

I wasn’t able to get all my diy stuff yesterday but I did come home with a huge black pot that wasn’t on the list and needs holes drilling in the bottom.

My brother came indoors last night and chatted for a good while and I mostly listened. BeechNutella sent me a video of herself doing something scary on her recent holiday.

Have a good day all and take care ?

dragonfly46 Tue 18-May-21 06:58:14

Good morning it is brightish here in Leicestershire.

Cleaner coming this morning then coffee with friends then straight of to my Pilates/counselling! It is the first one I have been roped into and I have no idea what it is about.

Pleased you are feeling better GrandMattie and so sorry you can’t be with DH for your birthday Ashcombe.

That is indeed shocking Harrigan. hospital visits are bad enough. I think I would complain to PALS.

Hope everyone has a good day.

harrigran Tue 18-May-21 06:41:22

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
Really cross yesterday, DH got up and BIL got him to the hospital for his appointment only to be told that it had been cancelled. No letter, no phone call just let the really sick struggle in. I am disgusted at the cavalier attitude and it is not the first time it has happened.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning, didn't update it last night so goodness knows what I ordered.
Enjoy your trips out.

Gagagran Tue 18-May-21 06:24:12

Morning Mick and everyone from a bright and sunny start here on the south coast. Forecast is for showers later but it is nice to see some sunshine after all the downpours.

I am going to the library this morning but have nothing much else much on the agenda. I sorted out my shoe collection yesterday and have a big bag of shoes for the charity shop, mostly virtually unworn. Might take those with me on the library trip. I never seem to learn that my feet will not fit comfortably in normal width shoes!

Hope the day is a good one for us all and that GrandMattie is feeling a bit brighter this morning. It was good to see all the kind support here yesterday. Hope it helped a bit.

Keep safe everyone! sunshine

grandMattie Tue 18-May-21 06:18:27

Good morning from a bright E Kent. What a change from yesterday’s squalls!
Sound like you are enjoying your “freedom”, Mick.
Our T’ai Chi classes are starting up in the hall again. There is a loooong list of things that have to be one and which mustn’t be done. So many regulations!
My darling DS2 called yesterday and cheered me up. He’s got a few days off and we shall see him this week. That’ll be nice.
Thank you for all your continuing kindness. I think my black dog comes from the fact that my life won’t be changing that much, if at all.
DH is resisting all hints and suggestions that we might go away for a couple of days. Unless he organises it his left, he is so grumpy during the “holiday” that it really isn’t worth me just doing it.
Two of my viburnums are flowering; I’m very fond of them.
May today bring sunshine ☀️, smiles ? and the occasional flamingo ?.

Ashcombe Tue 18-May-21 06:18:07

Good morning, everyone from a bright, sunny Torbay with rain (yet again!) due later.

A busy day ahead as I finish packing for my trip to see family and friends in Crewe and around Stafford. Normally, I make the most of my rail travel pass (DH was a BR executive) but this time I have too much to carry. Also, taking the car enables me easily to visit villages where I’ve planned to see friends later this week.

I haven’t seen my DD2 and family for nine months so it will be wonderful to be reunited, besides celebrating my 70th + one birthday! The one sadness is the continuing absence of DH but we shall communicate by Zoom and phone calls while I’m away.

I shall keep an eye on everyone's news, especially on this daily thread. Thank you, Mick, as always, for starting each morning for us. ?

Good Morning Everyone,
The sun is up , as its bright and sunny here in Brackley this morning.
Today, housework , followed by bus journey to Bicester , for my usual hour there , with a coffee plus inside for a change.
Feels more like spring this morning as well .
Take Care,
Mick
