Good Morning Everyone,
from a vey wet and windy brackley this morning.
My usual shop today , and then maybe nip to the chippy for fish & chips takeaway, followed by a nap and then cycling on TV .
I had the results of my MoT yesterday despite still to have a proper blood test , and have to arrange an appointment with a surgery nurse as to outcome and suggestions to me .
Take Care ,
Mick

Hello Michael and another hearty good morning to you. I sure hope you do make it to the chippy even if you manage little else. Enjoy! Also hearty good wishes to all who follow today. Hope each and every one of you find your own high spot and revel in it no matter how trivial it may seem to others. I look forward to dipping in and out all day and reading of your successes.

NanKate Fri 21-May-21 06:24:11

Morning Mick and All.

Wet and windy in West Berkshire where we have come for a few days break. ???? I’m not complaining as it is good to have a change of scene.

Off to Marlborough and hope that Seasalt has got some trousers I rather fancy.

Now where are my waterproof trousers and winter coat ?

grandMattie Fri 21-May-21 06:25:56

God morning fromE Kent. When I got up a few minutes ago, it was sunny, but it’s now drizzling + a gale. This is the oddest May, more like March/November!
I hope your results were good, Mick, despite no blood tests.
DH took me out to dinner last night. It is our first outing since DS1 took us out for our wedding anniversary last October. The portions were enormous! I have a good appetite but couldn’t manage to finish my plate. It was so nice not to cook.
Bedding today. I certainly shan’t put it on the line unless I want it to end in Ramsgate or the Channel! ?
I have had an uneasy feeling that I’m doing something today but the diary is blank. I hope I’m not missing anything important.
May today bring peace to the sorrowful and anxious, relief to those in pain, contentment to all, and a smile ?, sunshine ☀️ and a flamboyance of flamingos ? into your lives.???❤️?

Good morning all from a windy north Surrey.
Productive day yesterday and enjoyed my time with DGD2 who had missed a nap and fell asleep on her playmat, mum and dad were amused when they got home as she has never done this before.
Thoughts yesterday were with Grandmajet, I do hope all went well with her surgery. Also hope Cherry and Auntyflo had better day.
I have the school run this morning. Freddie has vet appointment and we hope/expect to get the all clear that he can be allowed off lead for a run. He is definitely back to his old self, wound all healed so we plan a good walk for him. Weather permitting we will then bath him (not easy with a reluctant 30kg dog). I will clean the bathroom after!
I have nursery collection for DGD1 and then home to put my glad rags on for a meal out, I may even wear a dress ?
Happy Friday all

Dwmxwg Fri 21-May-21 06:34:12

Ooh NanKate, Marlborough is one of my favourite towns, don’t forget to pop into Polly’s Tearoom for tea and cake, enjoy

Gagagran Fri 21-May-21 06:40:28

Morning all from a very windy but dry, at present, south coast. The gales are set to blow themselves out by this evening but the day will continue very breezy, we are told.

Glad you had a nice meal out, grandMattie and appreciated not having to cook. I completely understand the feeling but there is no escape from that duty when you have a DH who can't cook, as I know only too well!

We managed to get onto the new NHS app yesterday but had to send a video in the confirmation of identity bit as the system didn't seem to like our photographs. So now, we have our vaccines confirmed on the app if we need to prove that we have had them. Unlikely, as we are not venturing out very far at all. I have decided I like being safe at home and DH only goes out on his bike and so far that has been free of any checks!

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Ashcombe Fri 21-May-21 06:42:26

Good morning, everyone, from a dreary mid Staffs. Luckily the company isn’t at all lack lustre!

I enjoyed a pub lunch with one friend whom I’ve know since our children started school together in 1979. Then to spend the night with amateur musical theatre friends of many years standing when I lived nearby. We were joined for the evening by another who was also involved in the company. Much reminiscing and laughter!

This morning I have a coffee date with friends with whom I was involved in PTA work back in the day. Finally, lunch with a colleague who worked in the school where I taught before retiring. A hectic round of socialising!

I hope we all see sunnier skies soon, in every sense! ☀️??

Scentia Fri 21-May-21 06:44:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is blowing a hoolie and raining.
Well I have so many visitors today I hope they don’t all come at once.
DS called and asked if I want him to come visit and he will bring a subway lunch for us!! Haven’t seen him since Christmas❤️
DD and DGD are chilling here until clinic time as DGS is at playgroup and Daddy is taking charge of that side of things.
DSis is popping a chair over that she collected for me last week.
DH is off work and hanging about as the weather is stopping his cycle ride.

I think I will go to the factory for a few hours first to get some stuff done there then come back to a nice clean house as DH will be bored?
I do hope you are all managing whatever trials and tribulations you may have today, I will pray for ☀️ tomorrow.❤️

Urmstongran Fri 21-May-21 07:09:17

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s chilly, dry for now but we had heavy rain last night.

We’re off out in half an hour to be at our daughter and son in law’s house to let them get off to work and then we will walk the children round the corner to school. Their lovely childminder has booked a day off to attend a family celebration. I shall pop back later to read about all your doings.

Where do you hail from Kim19? Perhaps you’ve told us but I’ve forgotten. Another here thinking of grandmajet. I thought of her last night as I was dropping off to sleep thinking at least she’s on the right side of it all. She’s been so upbeat hasn't she? It’s funny how we think of each other off line - just the same as our friends in real life.

Have a good Friday. You too gillybob if you ever read. Stay cautious everyone. x

brook2704 Fri 21-May-21 07:09:55

Good morning everyone from a wet and windy Inverness. I was woken up in the night with the bedroom window blowing shut, I couldn’t work out what the noise was for ages as I think I was dreaming at the time although I can’t remember it
Lots of happy news today and days out meeting family and friends despite the weather. I hope everyone has a lovely time - we’ve all waited long enough!
DH is away this weekend on the train to see his AC and DGC who all live in the Manchester area. I’m staying home, they’re all lovely people and we get on very well but DH and I agreed a while ago to let the other one have time alone with previous families. It works well for us and we still all meet up together on special occasions.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 21-May-21 07:13:22

Morning Mick and all

Mick enjoy your fish & chips, take care when out and about.

Sending good wishes to Grandmajet

Ashcombe enjoy your whirl of social activity.

We have The Imp today, it’s so windy and probably going to rain so no plans for the park.

Off out to dinner this evening we are trying a new Indian Restaurant down the road, no washing up for me tonight!!!

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Jaxjacky Fri 21-May-21 07:15:18

Good morning Mick all all from a rainy, windy S Hants. What a social whirl Ashcombe, glorious, gM sounds like a doggie bag was required last night!
Yesterday afternoon saw me wind blown and wet with my crumpled shopping list of plants visiting nurseries. I spent an embarrassing amount of money, it seems very real when it’s not pressing buttons on the iPad! I’m still missing a few, so I may order online. Today no real plans, a minimum of housework, couple of phone calls and an assessment of the plants still in my car until the wind abates. Hoping all went well for grandmajet yesterday. Enjoy your meal out Dwm in a frock, to all of you have a lovely day. Thoughts with those in a different place, may everything improve for you.

Marydoll Fri 21-May-21 07:21:50

Good morning all from a wet and breezy Glasgow, its 8°C.

GM, glad to hear you managed to get out for a meal, I hope that helped to lift your spirits.
I can't stop thinking of Grandmajet and the huge mountain she still has to climb. A brave lady indeed.
Susan, Bellasnana, if you are reading this, you are in my thoughts and fingers crossed for a restful night for Our Cherry. ?
Kate, you besom, out shopping in Seasalt.? We only have one shop in Scotland and it's two trains rides away in Edinburgh. ? Hopefully, you will be able to treat yourselfagain ? Pot and kettle springs to mind, I'm just as guilty. ?

No empty, for me today, DH has just cancelled the golf. (Why couldn't he have done it last night, when he knew the weather was going to be bad?) He has been blundering about since before six o'clock, impersonating a herd of rampaging elephants. ????????? ?

As you may have sussed out, I'm exceedingly grumpy this morning! I didn't feel too good yesterday ( yes, I overdid it, the previous day), and still not too good today either. My pain levels are high and I have a blinding headache, caused by a touch of sinusitis, which does drag me down. I get so frustrated, when my activities are curtailed. At least DH and DD can deal with the Tesco delivery! ?
I have a few sewing jobs to do, so I will tackle them, while resting and watching afternoon TV. Despite buying a couple of Petite fit tops, the arms are still inches too long! ?

Wishing you all the best day you can. Anxiously waiting to hear today if we here in East Renfrewshire are going back into Level 3, as the numbers are still rising. We are such a small LA here, that we are minutes away from different county lines. On our day out to Ayr, we were in three different counties, withing the space of ten minutes!
I listened to an interview yesterday, where one of the local councillors said that the outbreak here was confined to a small group of large families, who had been mixing indoors and he hopes that Public Health take this into consideration, when making a decision. ?

NanKate Fri 21-May-21 07:24:10

Yes DWM the Polly Tea Rooms have old style charm. ?☕️

NanKate Fri 21-May-21 07:25:27

Hi Mary we are two peas in a pod. Seasalt here I come. ?

harrigran Fri 21-May-21 07:29:22

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Two nice young men arrived at 8am yesterday to work on CCTV, they removed all the cameras and replaced them with updated ones. The rain started and they battled on up the ladders, they did a great job.
My neighbour put out my recycling bin for me, she is older than me, I feel guilty for not doing it earlier she probably thought I had forgotten.
Housework today because family will visit tomorrow after GD2 has been to a party.
Thoughts for poorly people.

amselerin Fri 21-May-21 07:32:28

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lueneburg. Rain is forecast for later, so I am going out shortly to cut the grass. It`s rather a large area and I usually do it in 2 days. I use it as a form of fitness exercise. I have a received a private message on here, but I don`t know where I can read it. I have been able to read before but this time ?. As it is Whitsun this weekend all the shops will be closed Sunday and Monday. So I shall go and stock up my larder . I am playing bridge via the internet now with a partner I played with 35 years ago. I am using the computer more and more. But you all seem to be able to use the computer for so many more things. Perhaps my grand children in England will bring me up to date. Have a pleasant day all. Take care.

Beechnut Fri 21-May-21 07:33:04

Good Morning everyone from a very wet Severnside. What dreadful weather we are having. I had to stand outside in the rain for a while on my trip to the dentist yesterday. The chairs they put out were all wet.

My parcel came just before I went out so later on I tried out my new cutting dies.

Just my regular weekly shop today and then I shall potter about at home only venturing to the greenhouse to have a look at my plants. Your boot full looks interesting Jax.

Thinking of you all wherever and whatever you are doing ??☔️

Harris27 Fri 21-May-21 07:33:13

Good morning all. Have been dipping in and out of your conversations which have kept me sane over the last few weeks. DH has been in and out of hospital with what should of been a routine kidney stone operation but has turned into full scale nightmare. Usually fit and well he’s turned into a very unwell man. They’ve hopefully found what’s going on and I keep my fingers crossed that he’s on the mend. I wake each morning and think of my day and how quickly

Harris27 Fri 21-May-21 07:34:17

Sorry that just went! How quickly things change. I. Working today and thank god he’s got through another night. Love to all. X

dragonfly46 Fri 21-May-21 07:46:32

Good morning from wet and blustery Leicestershire.
I think the planned walk with a friend has been knocked on the head.

Yesterday was the anniversary of my DGS’s birth. He had no kidneys and died soon after. My DS rang and I had a lovely WhatsApp with DiL. I can’t wait to see them next week!

Thinking of Grandmajet and hoping all those feeling down or poorly feel better today.
Giving a shout out to the Friday girl Gillybob.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-May-21 07:48:17

I am so sorry to hear that Harris I hope your DH starts to pick up soon flowers

Pittcity Fri 21-May-21 07:48:18

Good morning from a wet and windy Colchester.
No plans today apart from another plumber to give an estimate.
Is hibernation in May allowed?

Love to all x

Elizabeth1 Fri 21-May-21 07:50:04

*good morning all you lovely gn people it appears to have been raining during the night with a hoollie blowing through our open bedroom window here on the east coast of Fife

scentiaI too enjoy a subway however yesterday I had a delicious beef sausage on a roll from Baynes the baker and it was delicious I’m really fed up of the pork sausages we’ve had long stored.

Yesterday was a good day no middle of the day nap I slept all night and that’s been a first in a very long time.

It’ll soon be my annual family BBQ I’ve advised all to bring along the sunshine and their own face coverings. Hey ho I’m up for a shindig in the garden keeping safe at all times.

Have a good day everyone virtual hugs all around how do you like the breakfast we were given during our weekend respite break away from home
