Good Morning Everyone,
from a vey wet and windy brackley this morning.
My usual shop today , and then maybe nip to the chippy for fish & chips takeaway, followed by a nap and then cycling on TV .
I had the results of my MoT yesterday despite still to have a proper blood test , and have to arrange an appointment with a surgery nurse as to outcome and suggestions to me .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining again.
I had a lovely meet-up with some parent Carers yesterday. We were supposed to be outside but the rain was very heavy so we retreated to a cafe. Fortunately we were able to split into two groups of 5.
Shopping this morning for food, a new book to read on FaceTime with DGS and paint for the decorators starting on Monday. Just wondering if I should pop into Seasalt as I’ll be passing ?
Harris sorry to hear about your DH. Hope he is soon on the mend. Thinking of Grandmajet too and hoping she had a good night.
Enjoy all the meals out and visits to family and friends.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Good morning all. Polmont is wet and it's fairly windy like many of you. It seems it was a wild night. Grandmattie that sounds like a nice night out and hopefully will have helped lighten your feelings. Marydoll we are entitled to be grumpy and with what you have to put up with, you more than most! Ashcombe it sounds like you are having a good time. Harris ? I hope your husband gets well soon.
Yesterday I had my second vaccination and so far just an elevated temperature in the night. A dear friend popped in for a chat in the afternoon and that was so nice to see her. We have been chatting via WhatsApp but it's not quite the same.
I'm off to Kelso in the Scottish borders today for the weekend! My oldest chum and her partner have a big caravan there and have invited me to join them. She's picking me up and dropping me off again and she's made dinner for tonight. All I need to get is a couple of bottles of prosecco. I'm looking forward to it. So adieu til maybe tomorrow,if the signal is good enough.

Morning. My bit of North Leicestershire is pretty much the same as dragonfly's which probably means the man coming to replace a couple of outside sills, up a ladder, won't appear. Hey ho.

Off to Derby to eat, inside, with DD1 and co..

Sending love and (((hugs))) to everyone especially grandmajet and dragonfly. Missing our gilly as always.

Good morning everyone from a grey, damp and very windy Northampton. Shall not be venturing out today. A day for knitting and reading I think.

I am so envious, Nankate, going to Marlborough. It is just a few miles from my childhood home and the view of the Cherhill Downs and White Horse. I would love to go back to live there, but would be leaving all my friends and family here, so it's not going to happen. DH and I would visit and stay for a few days every spring, but not been for three years now (since he died). I remember being taken on the bus to Marlborough as a child and having tea in the Polly tearooms, a big treat.

Thinking of grandmajet, and hoping all went well for her yesterday.

Good morning from a stormy S Welsh coast, it was a very wet night and it is blowing a gale. Mr Lins has just put out the recycling. We have a plumber coming to service the boiler this morning. Glad to hear that Freddie is better Dwm.
Good to hear that Rosie is settling in with Maw, best wishes to them.
Have a pleasant day, definitely one for hunkering down here.

Good morning Mick, morning all from dreich South Lanarkshire.

So lovely to hear about all the comings and goings, shopping and visiting.

Today is my shift in the charity shop, it was so busy last week I was wiped out at the end of the day. I’m not sure if it was just because it was my first day back or if I don’t have the same energy and stamina any more. I’ll see how I get on today. It’s such a beautiful place, people sometimes don’t realise it’s a charity shop until they’re inside.

Thinking of those struggling with pain and worries and wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Gingster Fri 21-May-21 08:06:09

Good morning all from a very blustery Essex.

Harris how awful for your DH and indeed for you. Wishing him a speedy recovery ?

Ash what a lovely time you’re having with family and friends. It’s the best thing, isn’t it! Trips down memory lane ! Enjoy !

amselerin - I wonder if we could have a game of bridge together ?. What site are you on?

We have my brother and SIL coming for coffee today. Haven’t seen them since last summer and they only live 10 miles away. They have been shielding and they are 10 years older than us, so have been very careful. It will be so lovely to see them. ?

Don’t get blown away in this persistent wind. Have a good day ?

Marydoll Fri 21-May-21 08:06:54

Baubles, would it be a Chest, Heart and Stroke charity shop? The ones I have been in look like boutiques. I was in the Kilmacolm one on Monday. I could have spent all day there!

Ellianne Fri 21-May-21 08:07:24

Good morning.
Holiday coming to its end here.

Blossom5 Fri 21-May-21 08:09:53

Good morning all, I'm new to Gransnet and having a look around, I've been looking forward to today the first of 9 days off work and taking my daughter and her 2 young children to Weymouth for a 5 day break on Monday, really I'm shattered just thinking about it but fingers crossed all will go well, i hope you all enjoy your(wet and windy) day x

Georgesgran Fri 21-May-21 08:11:31

Good morning from Durham - dreary, damp and dull.
Sainsbury’s soon and hope my garden angel Lee comes later. The weeds should be easier to pull out.
I’ve been woken most mornings by strange noises - it’s been really worrying but found it’s jackdaws pecking at the windows! Like a horror film!

A mixed thread so far today - some ups, but I’ll be thinking of those with ‘downs’ and sad memories.

By the way - Seasalt is now selling on QVC.

cornergran Fri 21-May-21 08:16:19

Morning Mick, morning All from a wild and squally Cornwall. All packed up and ready to go home, according to the forecast the weather is worse there. Oh joys. I’m sad to be leaving, it’s been such a tonic having a change of scenery.

We spent an enjoyable time in Truro yesterday, windy but no rain, a mix of the shops and Cathedral with several coffee stops and a delicious afternoon tea. Seasalt just couldn’t be passed by, sorry marydoll, when in Cornwall and all that. Mr C is still getting over the shock of me not buying anything. No, I’m not sure why either grin.

We lived close to Marlborough for 27 years nankate, it was my favourite place to just wander. Will be there at some point next month visiting a friend, it will be coffee in the Church at the end of the High Street and a nice meal somewhere as yet not decided. Really looking forward to it, haven’t seen her for a year.

Special thoughts to all managing health and other worries, I’ll not list names, always afraid I’ll miss someone. Take care everyone.

Good morning all from a wet windy Black country. Nothing planned today. Will read all your happenings later can hear DH stirring.
Have the best day you can everyone.

CherryCezzy Fri 21-May-21 08:19:29

Good morning everyone from the Gower. The wind is howling and the rain! It says it's 10°c on my tablet, feels a heck of a lot colder ☹️.

Cherry Cove is still having it's kitchen done ?. It's 99% done but ... that 1% won't be done today. Why oh why did I bother getting an OT involved and a grant application put in for me? #meddlesomeconsultant! The extra checks and balances ? on top of covid protocol walks off, shakes head, puts head in hands. That's not the whole story, to be fair. Aha I hear you all say. Apparently when the OT made her report and the grant application went in she recommended I also have a wet room fitted and a more appropriate toilet confused. I never asked for it and didn't find out until the kitchen work had started. That has muddied the waters (maybe not the best words to use) as the whole grant has got entwined with this and I either go ahead with this too or pay the difference back to the adaptations department ?. I'm going ahead, of course more head shaking, more holding head in hands. I am (truly I am) grateful for all this help and I know it will be fabulous (^darlings^) when it's all done ? I'm just impatient

Drat! Double drat! I've just spilt my cuppa everywhere (bloody myoclonic jerks) ?. Back laters .. I must mop myself off!

ginny Fri 21-May-21 08:19:52

Good morning from a still very windy N. Bucks.
Harris sorry to hear about your DH.
Hope we hear from Grandmajet before too long
Marydoll rest up.
Yesterday DD3 took baby Charlie for a hearing test. His older brother was born with Mycrocia and cannot hear in one ear. Fortunately he has a well formed ear on that side although it is smaller than his other ear. Anyway, Charlie’s hearing is fine.
DD3 had her first jab yesterday. It was quite a thing for her as she has a phobia about needles. She was extremely stressed but got through it as everyone was so kind at the centre.
Nothing special planned for today but will keep busy with various jobs.
Hope you all find a ? today.

ginny Fri 21-May-21 08:20:45

Oops , it was DD1 who had her jab yesterday.

monk08 Fri 21-May-21 08:22:45

Anniebach Fri 21-May-21 08:28:15

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 21-May-21 08:30:32

Good morning all from wet Harrogate
Marydoll my friend. In Alloway would agree with you that AYR town centre has gone downhill. She feels the authorities don’t care
I was hoping to go into town this am but might put it off when it’s so wet it was for DH but he will already soaked after taking dog for a walk.
Anyway meeting friends in town this pm. Hopefully a picture of the dress and jacket I bought in the charity shop on Wednesday will appear it’s for small DGd.
Hope to get reading the rest of your posts later
Just look on the bright side of life!

NannyJan53 Fri 21-May-21 08:36:12

Good morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country.

Arrived home from our few days away in Somerset yesterday. Despite the weather, we had some lovely walks along the sea front at Clevedon, and Apex park in Highgate
Highlights were being able to sit inside to eat and have coffees etc!

I am supposed to be going on a U3A walk this morning, but cannot seem to get motivated, The weather doesn't help.

Sorry to hear about your DH Harris I hope he will fee much better soon. Not sure what is happening with Grandmajet , but wishing her well.

Welcome to GN Blossom5 and this lovely good morning thread.

Wishing you all a good day.

Jaxjacky Fri 21-May-21 08:47:47

Welcome Blossom5 to this lovely start to the day.

monk08 Fri 21-May-21 08:49:50

Welcome back NannyJan you look like you had better weather than we've had here in the Black country this week.

Greyduster Fri 21-May-21 08:51:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a wet and windy South Yorkshire. Will this summer never come? Looking at paint samples for the h,s & l yesterday drove us to distraction and much disappointment. I think it’s going to be a long haul. We’re still waiting for the decorator’s estimate. DH thinks he’ll be put off by the fact that he has eight doors to prep and paint before he gets to the walls!
Ironing for me today and a salad for tea so no cooking. Hurray!
Thoughts and good wishes to all who are struggling with health and worry. Have the best day you can, all.

NannyJan53 Fri 21-May-21 08:55:30

Thank you monk08 weather was very intermittent! Those pictures were of the rare sunny times!

Grandmajean Fri 21-May-21 08:59:54

Good morning from wet and windy Cheshire. Two youngest GC today for tea. They have not had a meal here for a year and we are all looking forward to it !
