Aka 'Guilty Pleasures'

Hello Everyone! ?

Inspired by someone (who will remain nameless) who includes Pretty Woman in her list of all-time favourite films hmm

It can be anything: food; TV; books...

I'll get the crappy ball rolling with Super Noodles (chicken flavour); Celebrity Big Brother (RIP); and the Agatha Raisin books (complete and utter badly written drivel)
Oh, and I can't miss out The Daily Mail (subscription holder blush)

Come on, what are yours?

Thank you! smilethanks

What’s wrong with coleslaw? I agree that the shop-bought variety is generally pretty horrible - too much thin, vinegary mayonnaise - but I may modestly say that my own version is delish.

As for rubbish, I second Dairylea spread. Dates back to it being such a rare treat when I was a child. I can easily scoff a whole box of triangles without even any bread.

And Batchelors SuperNoodles, an occasional indulgence. Now and then if I get a craving and can’t be bothered to walk to the corner shop, I make some - dried egg noodles simmered with half a chicken stock cube and curry powder. Almost as good as the real thing.

I like garden gnomes blush

Aah! How many do you have Kate?
Our garden is full of all manner of odd stuff.

A Raisin for me too.

FannyCornforth Sun 23-May-21 06:29:54

It's healthy too - full of iron and b vitamins.
It's made quite near to me in Burton on Trent. It's a by product of Bass beer. A mate's dad used to work there.
And if you tap marmite with a spoon it goes white. Fact!

Redhead56 Sun 23-May-21 06:16:54

Marmite!! its one of my favourite things to eat most certainly not crap.

FannyCornforth Sun 23-May-21 05:55:18

That should say 'come on ladies'
Not sure what happened there...

FannyCornforth Sun 23-May-21 05:54:31

Grannypiper I bet that the Best of SAW is brilliant. I've got 'Better the Devil you know' earworming right now.

Now, come ---- ladies.
A lot of these really don't pass muster as being crap at all. Namely:

The Railway Children
The Miss Read books
Marmite
Coleslaw (I still find it difficult to believe that this provokes such strong feeling)
Death in Paradise
Scissor Sisters

The jury is our regarding the chip butty - surely it's our national dish; along with its culinary cousin, the crisp butty (the healthy option)?

Ro60 Sun 23-May-21 00:46:33

mawbe you found me out ? watching Eurovision right now on catch up & fast forwarding bits.
Holby & Casualty
Wotsits
Chip butties (don't tell my DM)
Suppernoodles
Scissor Sisters

Refuse to put Pretty Woman on my list - love that film ?

Liljan Sun 23-May-21 00:34:20

Columbo
Old Jamaica Chocolate
Mini Chedders
...all in the same day

LadyGracie Are you mad!? ?The Railway Children - Rubbish!? A British Classic imho .

Exactly what I was going to say! This belongs in the list of people's Three Favourite Films but strangely enough it's not there. An absolute classic British movie. Several people included it in their list of movies that makes them cry though.

Crossroads (RIP) was so delightfully rubbish but I loved it.

the Agatha Raisin books (complete and utter badly written drivel)

Oh, I enjoyed those (but don't want to watch the TV series)

A chip butty
Wanted Down Under
Crossroads - Chestnut I was designated to look after Sandy (Roger Tonge) when he was guest of honour at my college. He was very hard work.

We had colslaw with our supper sald. It was delicious. I
prefer home made as bought col slaw usually has too much vinegary mayonnaise on it.

Know someone who took part in the one home and away ie home and abroad. It was fixed. They had no intention of buying either and went for the free hols. On the programme, they did say they were buying the abroad. They didn’t, of course!

sodapop Sat 22-May-21 19:21:04

Me too with Doctors Gagajo really enjoy it especially Valerie.

Also watch The Sound of Music when it's on TV.

I love a toasted sandwich with extra crispy bacon. Very unhealthy but good.
