Good morning from sunny ?? N Bucks! What a (nice) change!
Enjoyed my Brasserie Blanc lunch with friends yesterday - I had a £20 voucher plus a code for a free glass of Prosecco each for my birthday (back in March) so we did rather well out of it.
Coffee out with a friend this morning - two outings in as many days, oh if only life were really getting back to normal!
Warm wishes to all who may be under the weather and congratulations ?? to those with good news.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

We have steps at the end of the garden to a decking area and five years ago, in anticipation of DGD starting to walk we bought a gate for safety as the steps are deep.Well yesterday we put the gate up?Henry is the most adventurous/reckless of our three grandchildren so am feeling much happier knowing the garden is now as safe as we can make it.

Today is a Henry day then school pick up for DGD.

Hoping Mary and Cherry are feeeling better?

Sending all best wishes to BladeAnnie and Mr B today.

Have a good day all??

Another much later good morning from S Lanarkshire, I’m so impressed baubles that you are organised enough to post before you set off on your long journey!

Congratulations Grandmabatty, and good health to your DD, happy news.

The chap who is going to build my garden room has sent a message saying he will come today at lunchtime to discuss the arrangements for starting the work. Having had so many letdowns along the way (not him) I am excited but wary, please let him turn up!

It’s made me think of Taichenan who encouraged me when I talked about planning this at the beginning. I hope she is well.

Best wishes to everyone for a good day; especially those who are feeling unwell ?

Good morning. It was a sunny start here but now a little overcast.
I’m feeling a bit washed out after yesterday. As our day at the races was cancelled we decided to head to an out of town retail park near to York. I bought shoes and a top. We had a lovely lunch at Prezzo. There were so many roadworks though the journey seemed to take forever.
Congratulations on your lovely news grandmabatty a new baby on the way .
Best wishes to bladeannie have a fab day.
Also good wishes to anyone suffering. Take care all.

Good morning from a N. Bucks with a blue sky.
Lovely news Grandmabatty.
Happy wedding day Bladeannie
Hope Marydoll and Grandmajet are feeling better today.
Thoughts with all who are struggling in any way.
I made it to the nursery yesterday so hopefully will be planting this afternoon.
DH has to take his car to have a new tyre and collect and deliver a prescription for his Mother.
I ‘ll try to get ahead with some preparation for our family lunch on Monday.
Both DD3 and SIL have their first jabs today. With a 5 year old and a 4 week old , I am on standby this evening and tomorrow, should they red me due to any reactions.
Hope you all find a ? today.

Morning all from a sunny and warmer south coast. The sun is due to be with us for the next few days so should make the bank holiday break a pleasure after all the cold winds and heavy showers.

DS is due to resume his South Downs Way training ride on Saturday and will be with us for a shower and food afterwards. It is only a month now until his 24 hour marathon 200 mile ride, doing the Way both ways in less than 24 hours. He is raising funds for Cancer research. Last weekend was just too wet and with gales so he wisely postponed the session until this weekend. He has been training hard and will be as ready as possible to join the very few athletes who have managed the challenge.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Today is the day!
First I will drive us to SW London for a night with DD - she has taken the afternoon off.
Then on to Brighton to stay until Monday with the DGC. DS was texting yesterday how excited he is.

Lovely news Grandmabatty.

Good morning all from a bright and sunny North Leicestershire.

Really exciting day here - a Sainsbury's delivery between 2 and 3 pm.

Best wishes to BladeAnnie.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
DH returned from his chemotherapy session yesterday and went to bed, I got all my housework done while he was out.
Sister rang and we had a chat, it was their wedding anniversary but her DH had spent half the day chaperoning my DH at the hospital. He is a lovely man and has insisted he accompanies DH into the unit so that he can speak up for him, too many times DH has been left sitting.
District nurse is visiting today, he doesn't actually do anything, just chats.
Can't remember the last time I left the house.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is up!
Congratulations BladeAnnie and grandmabatty.
Washing done ready to go out on the line. I did it on the timer so I’m all sorted before the decorators arrive. Finishing the kitchen and utility today and starting a bedroom. The house is a complete tip! When it’s finished nothing will need to be done for a long time so worth it in the long run.
I’m joining a wet felting class this morning on zoom. Should be fun.
Have a good day everyone.

Thanks for all your thoughts yesterday re nephew wanting to stay in our cottage by the sea. I have told them they are welcome to stay there but must arrange their own transport.

They are delighted and will sort something out. ??

brook2704 Thu 27-May-21 07:37:25

That’s such lovely news grandmabatty! Congratulations to your DD and family and hope she’s feeling much better soon

Gingster Thu 27-May-21 07:34:48

Good morning all from a lovely bright morning in Essex. Yes GG it IS the sun!

Today I’m off on the train to the Olympic Park at Stratford. I’m meeting my two oldest friends (started school together 66 years ago) the Park is beautiful and at this time of year all the wild flowers will be prolific. We’ll start with coffee and then have a lovely walk around and then find our usual restaurant for lunch. It’s an ideal place to meet as one of my pals lives in Wimbledon, so fairly easy journey for her on the tube and she doesn’t have to pay (Oyster card).

DH had a good day yesterday, fixing a garden gate, dog walking, a gentle game of tennis and out for a footie match with DS1 last evening. Perhaps this is the beginning of him coming out of his own personal lockdown. ?.

Wishing all who feel under the weather a better day.

???

Good morning from the sunny south west.
Out for lunch today with DD.

Sar53 Thu 27-May-21 07:23:30

Good morning from a sunny Essex by the sea.
Food shopping this morning then a huge pile of ironing awaits me.
Have a great Thursday xx

Grandmabatty Thu 27-May-21 07:21:05

Good morning all. Polmont is swathed in grey clouds this morning but the forecast is good. I'm working tomorrow so it is housework day today. I hope Marydoll is feeling better. My best wishes to BladeAnnie on her wedding today.
I have good news. My dd is expecting her second child in December. An early Christmas present! She's been terribly sick so far with dreadful heartburn but the sickness appears to be lessening. This is another special baby so I'm delighted for her and sil.
Now it's time for toast. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-May-21 07:15:48

Morning Mick and all

There is a big yellow thing in a bright blue sky, I think I remember seeing it before, a long long time ago...

Hopefully get to a Garden Centre today. I have got my summer hanging baskets up now need to sort out all my pots.

Thinking of our poorly and missing friends

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

brook2704 Thu 27-May-21 07:15:28

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and no rain in the forecast - at last! It means I can eventually get out into the garden and see what needs doing. The grass definitely needs mowing so I hope it’s dried out enough to do later.
DH is off to work, he only does a few hours a week looking after the garden at one of the local pubs - his ideal job! I’ve got to pop into town to collect an order from M&S, some trousers ordered for DD2
Lots of news about meet ups and days out, enjoy the day everyone
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles today or feeling a bit down, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

monk08 Thu 27-May-21 07:07:26

Good morning all from the Black country lovely and sunny here bright blue sky.
We have friends coming over later haven't met up since before xmas and that was on a car park to exchange pressies. In normal circumstances we see each other every week and have done for almost 50yrs. It will be lovely to be in the same room again.
Wishing all those feeling down a better day take care all.

Beechnut Thu 27-May-21 06:54:02

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I love to see the children doing that at the pool Scentia. It’s not something I’ve ever done myself. I only started to be able to tread water for a decent time after staying with my brother four years ago.

A garden day for me. I started yesterday so I do have a few aches and pains and will probably add some more today.

Enjoy the day all and hope the sun makes you feel better ?

Ashcombe Thu 27-May-21 06:40:34

Good morning, all from Torbay where it is bright and sunny although a chilly four degrees!

It fell to me to host the Wednesday Club Zoom (theatre group) yesterday which was attended by ten of us, including olddudders(DH). A couple of the attendees are virtually housebound so it's a lifeline for them and we've been able to enjoy some banter which wouldn't happen in our meetings at the theatre when we usually have a speaker or a topic on which to focus. Shared laughter is a joy to hear!

Today, DH will venture from his immediate environs to attend an interview at the prefecture in Le Mans, where he will be fingerprinted and issued with a Carte de Séjour, confirming his entitlement to continue living in France, despite Brexit. He has already sent in various documents confirming his taxation history there, etc.

I hope everyone is enjoying some sunshine in their lives, in every sense. Thinking of grandmajet and Marydoll.
