I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

Welcome back blossoming. Take it easy now.

I’ve been obeying orders today soop, was driven to a very nice garden centre for excellent tea and cake. Other than that activity has been almost zero, I feel absolutely fine. Just one of life’s oddities yesterday. As if I’m not odd enough grin.

TOYA. Have a restful evening everyone.

muse Sat 19-Jun-21 18:00:35

Yiayia4. Hayle's about a 45 min drive out of season. All I know of it is the Hospital. Had my hip replacement done there and go occasionally for cortisone injections. Good photo of the beach

Sorry to hear about your DiL's horse. My best friend always remembers the day she had to have her Dale's pony PTS. Think she had him a similar time.

muse Sat 19-Jun-21 17:54:30

Wellcome home Blossoming

soop Sat 19-Jun-21 17:25:45

Welcome home, Blossoming. Please do as us lot suggest. Feet up and relax. sunshine

Yiay Beautiful photograph. It is sunny here and the sea is mirror-like.

Grandmabatty Take care of that toe. It will most likely turn a pretty shade of purple overnight.
I can sense your unease regarding the next door sale. We would suit you. We are a nice, quiet elderly couple. And, today, so far, I haven't used naughty words of frustration because (say it quietly) the painting hasn't been trashed. Still more to do. It's a matter of being patient and not trying too hard to improve on the best bits. wink

Enjoy your evening. Nine o'clock G&T will be the moment when I truly relax.

Until tomorrow...smile moon

Grandmabatty Sat 19-Jun-21 16:02:32

Glad you are home Blossoming. Take things easy. My toe is still gowping so I've damaged it in some way. No sympathy from friends and family though. Next door has a for sale sign up. It went up yesterday. I nosied at the ad and was horrified to see 'development opportunity' there. I sincerely hope that it sells to someone who doesn't want to extend upward (semi detached bungalow) as I would have to object. But that's me putting two and two together and making five. I'm hoping for a nice, quiet elderly person, a bit like me ?

Yiayia4 Sat 19-Jun-21 15:49:40

Good news Blossming ??

Grandmafrench Sat 19-Jun-21 15:42:03

??........ and rest !

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Jun-21 15:35:04

And ……. relax, Blossoming . Good to hear you are upbeat and will await further news. Well done! ?

Blossoming Sat 19-Jun-21 15:33:18

I’m home! All is well, worn out so will drop in later.

soop Sat 19-Jun-21 15:26:15

As others have said, well done, Grandmabatty
I am now slowly but surely making some positive headway with the portrait. Positive vibes most welcome.

muse Such activity. No slacking there, then. All systems go.
We have a shed being erected right this minute. It replaces one that was most def not going to last another winter (when it comes). Today, the sun is shining brightly.

Nannytopsy You, too, are a trooper. You, too, brooksmile flowers

Susan Knowing that your father-in-law is very unwell must be very unsettling. I hope that you hear of some improvement soon. It is a great pity that you cannot shrink the mileage existing between you.

corner Listen to your body. It is telling you to reeeeeeeeelax. If I could, I would make you the proverbial nice cup of tea.

Yiayia4 Sat 19-Jun-21 15:13:04

Afternoon everybody just catching up.
So saddened to hear of Panache and MrP what a terrible position to be in.My thoughts and prayers to you both. Thanks for letting us know Doodle
Glad your being referred to another hospital Soop let’s hope they can help.
Just had a very sad phone call from our D.I.L she has had to have her horse put down this morning. He’s been part of her life for 18 years and she is devastated ?
On a happier note I leave you with pics of Hayle in Cornwall (anywhere near you Muse?)the weather has been very kind to us but overcast this afternoon.

dragonfly46 Sat 19-Jun-21 11:16:34

That was indeed a heartbreaking message from Panache Doodle.
I ask myself each time can things get any worse and then they do. Thank you for passing on our love and best wishes it is so sad that that is all we can do.

That sounds like hopeful news soop. I do hope they see you soon in Glasgow and they can sort you out.

Not much happening here today as the weather is not too promising but I must plant some bulbs while the ground is soft.

Nannytopsy Sat 19-Jun-21 00:29:45

DGC here for a surprise sleepover, so a very late appearance from me. DGC watched the football with me then went out like a light ?
? for soop, Panache and Blossoming. You all know that the kitcheners are with you in spirit.
Night night everyone x

cornergran Fri 18-Jun-21 19:17:36

Oh goodness, panache, I’m so sad to read your message. Thank you for passing it on doodle, please send my love to panache, she and her husband are often in my thoughts.

That’s hopeful news soop, let’s hope the wait will be a short one.

I’m sorry your father in law is so unwell susan, distance makes illness that much more difficult.

After two really enjoyable days seeing friends over the bridge it’s been back to the mundane for us today. Grocery shopping this morning, later than we’d hoped as I felt quite odd earlier, hard to describe, sort of dizzy, nauseous and even more vague than usual. Normal service being resumed we now have food and some tedious admin has been accomplished along with several phone calls. It’s been grey and miserable if dry all day, good to be occupied.

Feet up time now. Hope you’re all relaxing.

muse Fri 18-Jun-21 19:01:34

Oh Doodle. I've kept looking, even through the days when I wasn't posting, hoping to read of good news from Panache. What a horrible situation. How could they let this happen? Such carelessness. Thank you for passing on the message Doodle. I do hope she picks up the phone (the number perhaps Grandmafrench has suggested). I worry that she is so alone.

Jax. I' d love to sink down into that chair. Shattered tonight. I felt full of the joys of spring this morning. No painkiller last night. The knee was feeling good after Pilates. I've been careful today and no squats. Still good but I need a G+T and get my feet up. Hammock outside, is still up. I shall be there toot sweet.

?Well done grandmabatty.

A fantastic successful day here. Gardener has strimmed on and off all day. Tidiness reigns. Building Inspector came and went in flash. Lovely chap. We will see him in mid week when both treatment plant tanks are in. Pictures show the gapping hole ready - next Josh guiding the first one in. Phil is controlling the digger and MrM is in the hole at the other end. Josh knew I was taking the photo so kindly hitched his trousers up. He's one of these young men that likes to show an expanse of knicker?. I've sawn and restocked 1/2 of one log store for the winter. Mya's sat slept all day except for drinking a glass of squash MrM had put on the ground.
She missed her trip to a new kennel yesterday. Vet instead. Kennel cough injection. I found out she had not had it last December and to show the vet a very sore ear. He suggested E45 cream ! Seems to work. She's not scratched it today.

No rain here but it needs to wait until we have these tanks in place.

Enjoy all the sports at the moment. Tennis for me. Big hugs.

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Jun-21 18:44:25

Puzzler61 there were muttered multiple swear words uttered. It's still sore actually or as us Scots would say, gowping.

brook2704 Fri 18-Jun-21 18:43:42

Sounds like a perfect afternoon grandmabatty even after such a rush to get there!
Please send my love, strength and support to Panache, Doodle what a truly awful situation to be in. Thanks for the update
So pleased you got a referral to a different hospital and specialist surgeon soop that’s good positive news and hope for the future
Your new furniture looks really lovely Jaxj - enjoy watching the football in comfort!
Sorry to hear about your FiL Susan I hope things improve a bit soon

This afternoon I arrived at DD1 house in Cambridge - boy was it raining !! DD picked me up from the station but I caught in a really heavy downpour and was soaked through in about 5mins! I’ve dried off now though, pizza is in the oven and I’m babysitting 2 gorgeous DGS this evening whilst DD1 and SiL go out. Didn’t take them long hey to make the most of my visit ?

Thank you for the lovely flowers puzzler they really brighten the kitchen
Hoping all goes well tomorrow blossoming and take care all

Puzzler61 Fri 18-Jun-21 18:29:15

Forgot to say I hope all goes well tomorrow for you Blossoming.
And Susan , it’s sad that you have found your FIL so poorly but good that you are visiting him.
Grandmabatty did I hear a swear word when you stubbed your toe? I would have sworn. But I’m glad you spent the afternoon in the company of good friends with fine food. It’s what life is about. ?

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Jun-21 18:08:39

Good afternoon kitcheners. Firstly I'm horrified by MrPanache's treatment and my heart goes out to the Panaches. I hope some sanity and kindness will prevail. Soop it sounds like you are a perfectionist and thus frustrated. I'm sure you will get the portrait sorted. Slightly cautious good news too. Susan I'm sad to hear about your fil. It must be a worry.
Like a football game, today has been one of two halves. This morning kicked off with a cat messing my lovely bed in the front garden. I shall have to find a way to discourage it. Then I stubbed my toe really badly and had to wear trainers instead of nice sandals. Finally I was babysitting dgs to let dd attend a hospital appointment. She left at 9.30 and by 12.00 there was no sign of her. I was supposed to be at friends for lunch at 12.30! She finally made it home very disgruntled to tell me it had been a two hour sit while others came and went. The joys of maternity clinics! I then bombed to Tesco for prosecco to take and drove like Jackie Stewart/Michael Schumacher/Lewis Hamilton combined so I was only half an hour late.
Once at my friend's house, everything changed and we had a wonderful afternoon. We sat in the garden then had a gorgeous meal of poached sea trout, salad etc and raspberry pavlova. We laughed loads. It was so nice to catch up with everyone as it's been 18 months since we've seen each other. Now I'm home, it's glorious sunshine and I'm going to have a gin and tonic. I won't watch the football as I'm not a fan. Have a good evening all.

soop Fri 18-Jun-21 17:45:40

I have spent most of the afternoon attempting to make a decent start to the pet portrait. All was going well until I made a hash of the eyes. On trying to correct the mishap, I made matters ten times worse. The outcome being that I have to start over again. This happens frequently. I have had no training. It's guess work much of the time. So, hey ho, tidy away the detritus. Wash the brushes. Watch some tennis and start over again tomorrow.

Much love to you all, especially our friends who are having to deal with anxiety and stress. A special virtual hug for each of you. smile moon

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Jun-21 16:21:33

Oh Doodle how dreadful for our dear Panache and her DH. It’s heartbreaking to learn how each day things get worse for them.

Please convey my love and (((hugs))) I will hold them in my prayers ?

Doodle Fri 18-Jun-21 16:03:26

grandmafrench you lunch sounds delicious. Glad your enjoyed yourselves.
soop that appointment should give you hope. Glad you’re home safely.

Jaxjacky that sofa and chair look very comfortable. I might come and nod off watch the football with you ?
Grandmafrench I will pass in your kind thoughts and message to Panaache .
blossoming hope all goes well.

soop Fri 18-Jun-21 15:53:23

Oh, Blossoming I know that feeling so well. The dreaded med will accomplish what it sets out to achieve. There is a light...sunshine (hugs)

soop Fri 18-Jun-21 15:50:59

Dear Doodle, thank you for sharing Panache's message. Like many of us lot I have no words that can lessen her anguish and utter frustration. I can only wonder how would I feel in her situation. Distraught and teetering on the edge, is as close as I can get. flowers

Blossoming Fri 18-Jun-21 15:08:15

Just popping in for a quick catch-up. Glad your appointment ended on a cautiously optimistic note Soop. I’m horrified by Panache’s update, how could they be so negligent? It’s heartbreaking enough to be losing her DH without further suffering inflicted thanks to carelessness.

Once again, thank you all for your good wishes. I’m feeling calmer now, it was rather a shock when the ‘phone call came out of the blue. This morning I finally received the letter I should have got before the ‘phone call.

Right, back to the bathroom. See you all on the other side.
