Thank you for the update from panache Doodle.Still not ideal but an improvement.Good news that Mr P has his own room now.
kitty?
Renewing a Bid Society Bond. Asking for income.
I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!
Thank you for the update from panache Doodle.Still not ideal but an improvement.Good news that Mr P has his own room now.
kitty?
Hoping for better news of your brother tomorrow kitty.
Fingers crossed it was a mild stroke although he has an infection as well, with the right care and medication I hope he will make a good recovery.
Try not to worry too much. ?
Oh kitty, let’s hope it’s a mild stroke, the infection is found and sorted.
Slightly improved news for panache, thank you Doodle.
Charleygirl love a storm here, particularly as the garden and allotment need rain, but even without that, I love watching them.
Right, let’s hope the incompetent dolts sort out our soop tomorrow ?, but I’m not holding my breath.
kitty I am so sorry I missed your news about your brother earlier. I hope they find the source of the infection soon and there is better news.
charley I think the visits every day have come about after MrP was moved to a single room but I’m not sure. Apparently the hospital he is in is keeping to strict COVID regulations.
‘Evening All’.
Gorgeous weather here again. Only missing the palm trees and I could pretend I’m in Malaga!
Another lovely Sunday afternoon spent with my stepfather. Himself dropped him off home around 5pm then we called in our favourite bar downstairs for ‘one for the road’. I’ve taken off my make up, pj’s on & I'm settling down now with a cuppa to watch the launch of GB News (Freeview channel 236) at 8pm. x
I was so sorry to read about the plight of the Panaches, but pleased that the news is now slightly better. Still not as good as it could be though.
Kitty, so sorry to read about your poor brother, I hope he will soon be on the mend.
I take it Soop didn`t manage to borrow her friends gizmo then, seeing as she still isn`t here.
So sorry to hear about your brother kitty I hope he improves a bit soon
Thank you Doodle for the update on panache, thank goodness the visiting is now allowed daily, that’s so much better
Hoping everyone has a lovely evening, take care all
kittylester I was still typing when you posted, so only just saw this. Hope there is some better news soon.
Evening kitcheners, it’s very hot here so I‘ve given up on any more re-organisation. Mr. B fed me some delicious pizza, something I enjoy but seldom eat as it can affect my digestive system. I’m now drinking a cuppa, in a carb coma, and catching up with emails, etc. I was horrified to see the first update from Panache, glad to see things have improved a little. I told Mr B I wanted a baby donkey but he pointed out the red panda I’ve always wanted wouldn’t get on with it
. I wanted a red panda pet ever since I saw them at Chester Zoo as a small child, so cute!
Kitty so sorry to hear about your brother.
Doodle I fail to understand why Panache cannot stay longer than 30 minutes each day especially as he is in a single room. She is not entering and leaving the hospital like a yo-yo so it is petty-minded in my opinion.
It is still sweltering hot here so it will be an uneasy night's sleep I fear. Any way I will be grumbling about the thunder and lightning coming next week! Just to warn everybody!
Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
It has been confirmed that my brother has had a stroke and is still very poorly. They are still trying to find out what the infection is. Very worrying.
That's better news Doodle
Doodle
Just had an update from Panache. Things have improved slightly. MrP is now in a nice room. The Family Liaison Officer at the hospital has taken up their case and Panache is now allowed to visit every day for half an hour but she has to be accompanied to and from his room by this officer.
That’s a big improvement on half an hour a week. Thought you would all like to know.
Yay!
So pleased that Panache has someone to fight her corner.
Hopefully, she will have help with the daily commute, if necessary.
Good news Doodle, I’m so glad.
Kitty, I’m so very sorry to hear about your brother. He, your SiL and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. ?

Good evening dear kitcheners on what has been a hot and sticky day. Just right for being inside with the air con unit working hard while we watch the football ⚽️. I'm sharing bottle of champagne ? today and wishing everyone a little happiness. Such a lot of sadness in the kitchen atm and you are all very much in my thoughts ?
Doodle thank you for the news, even though it’s very disappointing. And kitty I hope you get news of an improvement with your brother, not a good day for some.
Nannytopsy I understand your cucumber excitement, mine have failed, so I’ve ordered new plants.
Well done England with the football, it seems a bit trite really with other’s news.
We were going to bbq for the two of us, seems a bit of a shame for two pieces of chicken and four sausages, oven it will be.
I hope you all enjoy a balmy evening, thoughts with the panaches xx
Thinking of Mr&Mrs Panache such sad news?
Also of you Kitty what a worry about your brother?
I know - and I'd swear to it - that I wrote an longish post this morning and now it is nowhere to be seen! Is it me or is it the 'system'?
Watching the tennis this afternoon, I managed to drop off for about half an hour and woke up to find that Tsitsipas was in the lead, though now Djokovic has reasserted himself. Quite exciting even though I'm completely neutral. It's red hot outside, so I'm not complaining about staying indoors.
Poor Panache must be distraught. Half an hour, just once a week does seem unduly strict, even in the current circumstances.
Thinking of you, too kitty.
Too much sadness around at the moment.?
Thank you Doodle for the news about MrP. Goodness knows how Panache is coping. She was hoping for so much from the move to the new hospital.
Thank you Doodle for keeping us up to date with Panache, do let her know that she & her DH are in our thoughts.
kittylester, sorry to hear your brother is so unwell, I hope you get better news soon.
My DH will be happier now that England have won their first match of the Euros.
Our son-in-law is off to Scotland for tomorrows match in Glasgow, (he says it is for work...!!!), (I think the company he works for is a sponsor).
I'm not really a football fan, but I am patriotic, also I've learned to live with it..!
.
We're off to the NW Norfolk coast this evening, (having a smart meter fitted).
Downside of our little home-from-home is that we have no internet.
soop, I expect that you will be back in the fold when I get back here, late Tuesday. You have been missed.
Take Care, good folk.
My heart goes out to panache and her dear husband. It seems so cruel.Doodle please give our love to panache.
kitty, I am sorry to hear your brother is so unwell.I am glad the drs are keeping in touch with your sister in law.Hope you have good news of him soon.
I am so sorry for the panaches, please give them our love doodle.
My brother was admitted to hospital yesterday afternoon. He has a severe infection, possible sepsis and has had a bleed on the brain. My sister in law is at home, just waiting! The doctors are being very good about ringing her but she really wants to be there telling him to pull himself together!
I feel so sorry for Panache and her H but sadly those are the rules for most of the hospitals here.
Even patients very seriously ill are not allowed visitors until the time comes that is is clear the patient is at end of life.
Many are truly traumatised by it.
Couples who have been together many many years are only allowed to say a final goodbye.
Truly heartbreaking.
