I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

Didn’t know you used to live in Greece GrandmaFrench. Lovely I imagine (I’ve never been, hopefully next year??). Which is your favourite?

Puzzler61 Sun 06-Jun-21 09:50:40

Nannytopsy Noooooooooo one-way trip to the Vet for Charlie!!
Our feline friends have “character”, ours certainly keeps us amused day and/or night ?

Nannytopsy Sun 06-Jun-21 00:22:07

GF & Puzzler we have a yowler too! He stands on DH’s chest every evening, blocking his view of the TV, often 9-10 like yours. Last night Charlie woke us up 4 times by jumping onto the bed, standing on top of one of us and howling like a banshee. I feel a one way trip to the vet coming on ...

Lovely photo BA!

Hellogirl1 Sat 05-Jun-21 23:56:07

I`ve just discovered that my earlier post has gone walkies, but off to bed now, will post tomorrow.

Grandmafrench Sat 05-Jun-21 23:53:26

Grandpa French is not George Clooney, Urms, but our scooter is still nice, we had it shipped to Greece years ago when we had a house there. It's not done much mileage since then and is now just for pootling around when parking is a nightmare here.

Gone are the days when I can pillion up a mountainous village road (from our car) clutching surprising amounts of shopping or, on one occasion, gripping a small bedside table in each hand! (Long story since our house was built with gateway too small for our car, in spite of providing precise measurements, ? so the car forever had to be left in the village square and we either scootered onwards to our house or climbed the 79 steps directly to the terrace! ) I used to go back to the UK fit as a mountain goat - of which there were many who occasionally strolled down the mountainside to nibble my laundry.

My DH promptly agreed to giving you lifts anywhere, soop, but points out that if you are hoping to do a George & Mildred (remember them?), you'll have to wait until we decide to buy a sidecar. In the meantime you'd need endless practice if you plan on becoming that battle-axe in a headscarf. Wasn't she dreadful?

Would so love to bowl along with the wind blowing through my hair, Grandmabatty, however the French laws state that we must wear helmets. They have a slightly more responsible attitude than in Greece where, well ... rules are for other people so mostly people did their own thing! Not safe of course, but far more comfortable in the heat.

Continuing the transport theme, so happy you have found a car you like, muse and that all is well with the family, garden, and "the build" as t.v. people tend to call any kind of construction these days. How are the Pilates classes going......is the village idiot still lurking and, of course, are you still tall ? ?

What happy, smiley GC's you have, Jax - do you think they might be up to no good? ?

Thank you for sharing the super wedding photo, BladeAnnie. You both look really happy and what a pretty dress. Another wonderful photo of your outings, brook. 8 miles is no mean feat, well done you!

I'm shocked that Ruby is a yowler, Puzzler. They really do know how to annoy, don't they? Think we must just hope, for Hellogirl's sake, that Billy is all yowled out after a lifetime of adventuring, and he'll wisely stick to purring if he wants to keep his paws under the table in his new loving home!

OK I'm off to bed and will just wish all you lovely people some deep, refreshing sleep and sweet dreams. Nighty night all. x

maddyone Sat 05-Jun-21 23:44:01

Good evening everyone. BladeAnnie what a beautiful photograph. Your dress is lovely.
Glad your ITU is getting better Soop.
We had family visits from our sons and partners this afternoon, and our dear little grandson. We sat in the garden as the weather was lovely and warm.
Goodnight everyone.

Urmstongran Sat 05-Jun-21 22:07:06

Still fab. ?
I hope you have many safe and happy times motoring about in it!

muse Sat 05-Jun-21 22:03:44

It's newish Urm. 2017.

Urmstongran Sat 05-Jun-21 21:23:17

‘Evening All’.

Our friends have just left. We all spent a lovely afternoon outside one of the bar terraces. They’ve made a real effort with huge troughs of pansies and about half a dozen large hanging baskets. Very pretty!

Himself has got the hang of the ‘Butler’ app on his smartphone now. You tap in your table number, scroll down the drinks menu (2 pints German lager, 2 Tanqueray gins with tonic) tap to basket, add a discretionary tip, put in ‘basket’, tap ‘Google Pay’. The order goes straight to the till. 5 minutes later a smiley waitress came out carrying our drinks on a tray straight to our table. In a very busy bar of about 20 tables I was very impressed with the efficiency and technology! Especially as I am such a Luddite.

Back up here for pie, peas & mash. A great afternoon. We asked ‘Alexa’ to play some songs by Chuck Berry and Fats Domino. We all agreed our vinyls had gone and now it looks as though our CD’s are redundant too. No point!

It’s just clouded over so we might have a shower later.

Lovely wedding photo BladeAnnie your dress was pretty and the soft pink colour really suits you. Great idea for GrandpaFrench to scooter about during the summer months! A Vespa?
?

Glad you are on the right side of your UTI soop. How exciting to await collection of a new car muse. Something we’ve never had but as my dear dad used to reassure me - 3rd class driving is still better than 1st class walking!

Night all. Sleep tight. x

brook2704 Sat 05-Jun-21 20:34:18

Lovely happy smiley photo Jaxj ??

There are a few midges about, not many just now but I always use the Avon skin so soft and they keep well away from me!

muse Sat 05-Jun-21 20:05:11

Enjoy the meal Jax. Lovely family photo.

Thanks for The Weeknd link. I like smile

Jaxjacky Sat 05-Jun-21 19:36:17

Hi all, we’ve just meandered back from the pub after, for me, two small Chenin Blanc, MrJ two pints of Pravda. Watering done, moussaka in the oven, side salad made.
Lots of news tonight kitcheners, firstly BladeAnnie you both look utterly radiant and happy, thank you for sharing.
Izabella the best outcome for your CH and you ?. brook are the midges out yet, probably too early, I seem to remember August/September?
Pleased Mya has recovered muse.
My daughter and GC’s went out to lunch today with my son and his GF (living together) not sure if GF’s daughter, 8, was there. I’ll be interested if DD passes comment, I won’t ask, but first time they’ve all met properly.
I’ll leave you with Finley and Imogen, his eczema looks sore, but I’m assured it isn’t.
Have your loveliest evening, whatever it is you’re doing all. X

Blossoming Sat 05-Jun-21 19:36:15

Beautiful photograph BladeAnnie

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Jun-21 19:23:29

I am partial to blood orange gin. Thank you Muse.

brook2704 Sat 05-Jun-21 19:06:22

Thank you for the Gin muse I’ve not seen that one before but looks good!
Well all gin looks good really but that blood orange one looks especially good! ?

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Jun-21 18:57:30

BladeAnnie you looked beautiful when you finally got to marry your Beau. The week you chose to tie the knot this time was just perfect with sunshine in abundance. It was meant to be.
I hope your life together is full of sunshine and love. ?

Galen I have no idea really. I bought it 2 years ago and I can’t remember. I chose it as it was an unusual shade, and it is very hard to track the name down, even using the wonderful internet.
Soop continue on your road to recovery, you will be delighted to be rid of the blessed UTI.
Have a very good evening all kitchen friends TOYA.

muse Sat 05-Jun-21 18:45:02

Urm, Jax, soop, GrandmaBatty, Brook, Anno, MawBe , Susan, Puzzler, grandmaFrench and GrannySomerset - thank you lots.
MawBe - your mother was so right. The worries should get less but they don't. They certainly get harder to resolve as well. Very envious of your boozy visits. Just looked at the website and wondering if I'm brave enough to try the liquorice root one?. For now my Blood Orange G&T is currently awaiting ice and it'll be by my side soon. Cheers Maw.

Anno - Mine's 49.

Blossoming Lovely hair and new colour smile. I did that 9 years ago. Love the natural me. Keeeeep swishing grin Thank you for the glass of wine.

Izabella Very good news. Hip Hip Hooray. smile

How's the UTI Soop? Glad to read you have a supply of antibiotics.

What a gorgeous happy photo BA.

Little bit of news from me today. I parted company with a lot of money earlier on which enables me to pick newish car up on Monday or Tuesday.
Mya didn't eat yesterday and retching during the night. Back to her usual manic perky self today. Ah! she did eat something yesterday - some disagreeable ?
Raining all day so much time spent on GN. I've lit the fire ?.
Decided tonight is music night. No TV. Got my iPod plugged into the system and will sort out a play list for MrM and myself. We have similar tastes - well almost.
Will send a text to dear son tomorrow wishing him all the best on his first day.

I've left a bottle by the cake in the kitchen. Just the colour makes me smile.
Take care everyone.

Yiayia4 Sat 05-Jun-21 18:36:29

Beautiful wedding photo BladeAnnie thank you for sharing.
I too have scooter envy Grandmafrench a mod in my last life!

brook2704 Sat 05-Jun-21 18:00:31

Beautiful photo of you both BA you look stunning!

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Jun-21 17:56:47

BladeAnnie that's a lovely photo of your special day. You look beautiful. I have made chicken tikka and a lentil and vegetable curry to go with it. I'm having a glass of red wine and watching a disaster film on telly. Grandmafrench the scooter adds to the frenchness and I can picture you both hurtling along, the wind blowing through your hair. It has clouded over here in central Scotland but is warm still. Have a good evening all.

Galen Sat 05-Jun-21 17:38:44

puzzler is your clematis ‘ the president’?

soop Sat 05-Jun-21 17:25:16

BladeAnnie I almost missed your stunning wedding photograph. How lovely you look. The sun shone on your special occasion. Rightly so.
Enjoy your fish and chips. We had ours last evening. Our favourite meal by far. flowers

soop Sat 05-Jun-21 17:22:23

Rafa won. His opponent did himself proud. A good, interesting match.

brook We have yet to visit Loch Eileen. It certainly looks well worth a visit. You do take some picturesque photographs.

Izabella What a relief it must be for your husband to have the long awaited appointment for knee surgery. August isn't too far away.

Grandmafrench I now have scooter envy. I don't suppose your husband's has a wee side-car. wink

anno I shall join you with a brew. There is a heat haze shrouding the islands. Even so, it is a lovely evening.

My very good wishes for you lovely lot for a restful Saturday evening.

All being well (no more buggerations when attempting to share posts with you), I intend to join you in our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

BladeAnnie Sat 05-Jun-21 17:13:33

Good afternoon lovely kitcheners on this beautiful sunny day ?. Blossoming I am loving your hair - it really suits you. Soop I hope you are feeling a bit better and not overdoing things? I expect all you tennis fans have been sitting in the umpire's chair ?. That reminds me of the story when DD1 took her hubby (then boyfriend) to his first football match and he kept calling the referee the umpire. Needless today our love of the beautiful game has NOT been passed on to him!! I've spent most of today browsing through our wedding photos which arrived this morning - I am more than happy with them ?. Home cooked fish and chips on the menu tonight and I hope you all like this photo of our special day

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Jun-21 17:01:11
