William and Catherine’s Anniversary Photo
Iran war - so uptake of solar panels rise.
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!
What lovely photos and memories made soop. That will keep you going for a little while!
I am still catching up with bedclothes after unexpected visitors on Sunday night. And I had two sets still to be washed from the previous lot. Gardening or ironing this afternoon?
Tonight is the unveiling of the new pizza oven! Wish us luck ...
soop I would not need quite so much food but I would prefer a proper bed, please. Fern does look comfortable. She is also aware she need never forage for food ever again because it arrives as and when she does!
Some lovely photos and good times being had. Thankyou for sharing.
Urms if I was to try that trick all I’d get would be a moan for wasting electricity and letting the kettle boil for nothing!
He’s definitely a keeper that MrUrms- very well trained too!
What a lovely couple Soop.
Exhausted after darling daughter’s visit with 3 dgc.
The cake went down very well with all of them as did the striped blanket with Elli.
Now sitting back with a cup of coffee.
Urms
It was a chocolate sponge cooked in a Bundt tim
Lovey photos Soop looks like you had a great time. What a lucky cat Fern is she looks very contented.
Struggling to move much today after a hectic weekend.Hopefully a few rest days will sort me out. It’s become very cloudy and humid here maybe a storm brewing.
Good afternoon dear kitcheners. soop what lovely photos and special memories you have there ?. And I had not seen a photo of the lovely Fern before so Duncan says "hello" . I think this warm weather is making me lazy - I don't seem to have done much again today!! I am still on honeymoon really though so it's allowed.....?. Hope everyone has a pleasant evening and sending gentle virtual hugs to all in need of a little comfort
Lovely photos Soop, your Matt looks a lot like you. Was the first photo taken from Tarbert castle, and the second at Skipness castle? Fern looks very contented, as she should, with 2 devoted and besotted foster parents, lucky Fern.
It was my birthday yesterday, and I`m feeling every one of the accumulated years! At least I had visitors, laden with cards and pressies, which I never refuse! I`m being taken out to Afternoon tea at the White Hart hotel in Boston centre on Saturday. There will be daughters 2c and 3, DIL Sharon, and hubby`s niece Jayne, maybe, but not sure, my other DIL will join us.
Happy belated Birthday Hellogirl ????
Hellogirl1 Correct! We all said hello to David on several occasions during the visit. It was exceedingly busy at Muasdale.
A VERY happy belated birthday for yesterday. You deserve all the pampering that your received.
BladeAnnie Your honeymoon can last forever.
Fern is back in the utility room. Guess what? Charleyg Correct! She's tucking in to yet more chicken. She now ventures a few paces into the kitchen.
Yia I shall not be fully caught-up for a few days to come. It is lovely to be back.
The weather, 'though fine, is heavy today. the garden needs rain.
Galen Your cake, together with the striped blanket, is a work of art. Bet that there isn't a crumb remaining.
Hello mamaa and any other newcomers to the kitchen. You are most welcome.
Nannytopsy and Grandmabatty I have much catching up to do before I can honestly say that I am back in the usual routine.
At least I've made a start. Tomorrow, I shall read back over previous messages. You are all important peoples. That is a fact.
Until then, a cheerful farewell and virtual (hugs) a plenty.

Happy belated birthday Hellogirl. ????
Happy late birthday, Hellogirl. Glad you had an enjoyable day.
I had my hair cut again today. It had grown very long at the back, but seems to stay the same length on top and at the front. Then my friend treated me to a splendid lunch. It was lovely to be back to almost normal as 'ladies who lunch'. I did full justice to it and won't need to eat again today. Later, in her conservatory having a brew, I spotted what I thought was a dead wasp on the floor and picked it up....it wasn't dead
and my poor thumb still hasn't recovered. This must have been the stupidest thing I have ever done...no contest! I must confess that my language was less than ladylike!
I've been away at the Norfolk coast since Saturday, so pleased to see this new kitchen. Super cake Galen, thank you, just right with the bubbly from the wedding BladeAnnie.
.
Lovely photos soop, great to see & spend time with family.
We had our DD, SIL & 2 smallest DGDs to stay with us over the weekend.
Also saw DS, who brought their family touring caravan to park on our plot by the sea for the summer months, for as & when they need it.
Thrilled, (& relieved), today that our eldest DGD passed her driving test. (1st time, but she has had countless lessons & been learning since she was 17 in September 2019). like many others she has had 4 tests cancelled due to lockdowns/tiers.
We thought if she failed today, the next would be in the autumn when she is off to university.
(NOW, I'm worried that she will be out on the roads alone..!! (no pleasing me.!!)
Belated Birthday wishes to Hellogirl1, enjoy your afternoon tea with your family.
Warm thoughts to you all.
Lovely photos Soop.
Good evening
Thanks to Galen for re-opening the kitchen. Can you tell me what Soops' kitchen is all about, please, as I have never visited it before?
I am having heart function tests (including the dreaded treadmill) tomorrow at the hospital so am feeling a bit nervous and in need of support.
I have had to give up any idea of housework of exercise for ages because of feeling exhausted afterwards and am getting into very lazy habits.
Won't get the results for a week so will be on tenterhooks.....
Please bow. I’ve been crowned ?. 2 ¼ hours in the dentist chair but I’m done. ?
Wow soop your son and his partner are so good looking.
Galen glad you had a good time with your family. Any cake left ? ?
Hellogirl sorry I missed your birthday yesterday. Hope you had a lovely day. ?
Oh anno sorry about your wasp sting. How painful.
Ramblingrose firstly very good luck for for tomorrow. Try not to worry about your tests. There are many reasons for being exhausted and it’s best you find out now if anything is wrong and you can get help.
soop’s kitchen is a chat room. Our lovely hostess soop is a very special lady who has been on GN for many years and hosts this lovely thread where all receive support and companionship. No nastiness or bullying, no criticism. We just post what has happened during our day and support and help each other. Welcome. ?
Muse I know exactly what you mean. Hope all is well with your sons job but two job offers is a good thing he should be pleased with that.
What a pretty girl Fern is soop. 4 chicken meals.
.....please can I come and stay. I will sleep in the little chalet ?
Urms ? cooee ?
Rambling a comfortable group of friends who support each other come he’ll or high water and generally like cake! Welcome and it’s very quiet this evening, I imagine kitcheners are gently snoozing from their activities
soop a glorious maelstrom of family and fern, so pleased for you ?
Hellogirl1 I like laden with presents and cards, very apt and deserved, a belated Happy Birthday to you ?.
gillgran a chauffeuse in the family, well done to your DGD..payback time for her parents! annodomini ouch and ouch, you won’t be doing that again, hope it subsides quickly.
A quiet day here, a couple of friends for a cuppa in the garden, we had some rain, but a mere splash really and a slight contretemps with my dentist, a longish story, I won’t bore you. Off out with DD tomorrow to find pots and plants for her new artificially turfed back garden.
Have a gentle evening all. X
Sorry, took me so long to post,, missed other’s news, Doodle please, please tell me how you coped with so long at the dentists, my ‘torture’ was supposed to be Friday, now delayed, having spent a week getting mentally prepared. You’re so brave, did you get a sticker? I expect an armful of them.
Well hello! Welcome Rambling! Sit yourself down on the sofa by the picture window and grab a cup of tea and a piece of Galen’s chocolate cake, if this lot have left any.
Our new pizza oven is very successful! The family bought it for us, with an eye on their tummies I think!
A very warm welcome ramblingrose hope all goes well for you tomorrow. There’s always lots of support on here whenever needed so please pop back as much as you can
Such beautiful photos soop and very special happy memories made! Your son and his partner look a really lovely happy couple
I’ve had a busy but lovely day today so just relaxing now. I met a friend at the local Dobbies garden centre for a coffee and a cake and we sat outside in the beautiful sunshine most of the afternoon. Then a treat of watching DGS age 7 at his football training (he’s football mad!) and entertaining DGD age 6 at the park. Then home for a quick M&S pizza and salad and a delightful G&T - I’m happy!
Happy belated birthday hellogirl I hope you enjoyed your special day yesterday. Aren’t you clever working out exactly where soops photos were taken - I’m impressed
A big congratulations to your DGD gillgran I bet she’s over the moon!! I remember that feeling well when each of my children passed their driving tests - so pleased for them but worried about them being let loose on the roads
Queen doodle I bet you’re pleased that’s over with - phew!
‘Evening All’.
We’ve had a lovely afternoon in Idle, Bradford. Took us exactly one hour on the motorway door to door. I always shiver inwardly when crossing Saddleworth Moor, recalling those evil people Hindley and Brady.
Anyway. It was nice to spend time with our dear friend but poignant when we raised a glass to ‘absent friends’. (Her late husband and my mum). It used to be a table for 6 and today was a table for 4.
?
Hi there Doodle you’ve been very brave it seems. ?
I’m off to participate further in the political thread. I must be a glutton for punishment. x
