Yet another *Soops* kitchen for all us like minded people

I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

Hi back, Doodle ?

Urmstongran Mon 31-May-21 21:17:00

Hi to you too Fanny ?
This is a lovely place. Always kind, generous and caring.
Especially comforting if/when we all have the occasional wobble too.

Blossoming Mon 31-May-21 21:36:04

Good evening kitcheners, it’s been a glorious and busy long weekend here. I can’t keep up with everything at the moment! It’s lovely to see everyone so busy though, isn’t it? I’m glad your weekend’s gone well Soop

Galen Mon 31-May-21 21:42:16

Fannyc
I meant just what the others have said!
Kind, mutually supportive and welcoming.?

I can’t believe that at some stage we will look back on these lockdowns as some sort of dystopian nightmare that we all lived through. Nothing to do but potter about in house & garden, seeing no-one. Walking whilst avoiding others doing the same etc. And now look at us all.

Morning everyone, and thanks to Brooke and Urmston.
You asked if my daughter has gone forever Urmston, well they’ve initially gone on a two year contract, but of course we’re thinking they may not come back. They talked about that possibility themselves, but they’ve left a lot of stuff here in storage, and one of their cars is sitting on our drive, so really we don’t know. If we could book flights out there early next year it wouldn’t be so bad, but of course NZ has closed it’s borders, so that’s impossible at the moment.

Just out of the oven

BladeAnnie Tue 01-Jun-21 16:16:11

Galen that's rather a wow ? and thank you for sharing. Just to reiterate; this is a lovely, kindly and supportive thread - amongst friends I like to think. It's been a lovely day again here in mid-Notts and Mr BA has left his desk early (shh don't tell anyone) to cut the grass before it gets really out of control. I've had a lazy-ish day "pottering" while I get used to being "Mrs" smile. Steak and chips on the menu tonight and maybe a glass of something - well we are still celebrating ?!! Hope everyone has a pleasant evening and sending gentle virtual hugs to all in need of a little comfort

Before we nip out, thought I’d share this!

maddyone Tue 01-Jun-21 16:54:28

What marvellous news Jaxjacky.

cornergran Tue 01-Jun-21 16:59:43

It’s been a glorious day here, sadly not been out as waiting for the washing machine engineer. A fault fixed but it still plays up. Consensus by those who know far more than I is there are two issues - the washing machine and the socket. Oh joys. Well we’ve half a problem solved. On to the other half now

Very impressed with your oven galen - and the chef. ?.

Our climbing rose is treating us already. Thought I’d share with with you all. Best get on. We have food that won’t cook itself.

Take care everyone, have a peaceful evening.

Yiayia4 Tue 01-Jun-21 17:21:01

Wow Galen very impressive.
We had lunch out today by the river lovely. We always love to be by ?
That is great news Jaxjaxy another step in the right direction ?Yes BladeAnnie this is a warm friendly thread thank you Soop. Have a pleasant evening everyone in the sunshine.

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Jun-21 17:44:40

That looks amazing Galen and I'm sure will taste wonderful. I've dropped off the boy wonder who is testing boundaries every day and all day! I'm sure he will grow out of it but he is very trying at times. Fortunately he is also loveable. Lovely neighbours handed in toys for him to add to the pile at my house. It is very kind of them. I hope everyone is making the most of the sunshine. BladeAnnie I think it's the law that a honeymoon lasts for at least a month!

brook2704 Tue 01-Jun-21 18:16:23

Yummy Galen well done it looks delicious
Thanks for the uplifting news jaxj ?
I’ve had another lovely sunny day pottering in the garden - just perfect. Ive just come in, showered and put some diced chicken in the oven in a cook in the bag mix so that was nice and easy, as usual!
BA keep on celebrating with bubbly or whatever you fancy for as long as you can - why not!
Some lovely toys there grandmabatty lovely to see your DGS playing in the sunshine, your garden looks good too!
What a beautiful colour your climbing rose is cornergran very striking against the blue sky

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Jun-21 19:14:13

Beautiful rose corner I admire anyone who can grow healthy ones, my memory is of those when young, the dreaded black spot and greenfly. A quiet day for me, admin, watered the allotment, when MrJ returned from work we had a couple of hours sitting in the garden chatting, no media is good sometimes. I’m sure cases will go up tomorrow, but a cheering spot of stats.
Have a lovely evening all ??

Doodle Tue 01-Jun-21 19:29:49

Why did I chose today to deep clean the bathroom ?
Went for a walk after I recovered and it was lovely out.
Wow Galen that looks impressive.
Grandmabatty that’s a lovely little lad. Lots of things to play with.
Lovely rose Corner hope you get your washing machine fixed soon.
Hope everyone is ok. TOYA (you too *Urms ?) ?

muse Tue 01-Jun-21 20:53:13

?I'm impressed Galen It's a shame to slice it smile

Thank you Jax. Excellent news. Hope tomorrow is the same.

Someone has sent me some knee exercises so just had my pilates mat out doing them. Many??crossed it helps.

Had an excellent site visit from another groundwork man. He impressed MrM. That takes some doing. Hope his daily rate is within our budget. More?? crossed.

No news from dear son about his job offers. I didn't ring. Picked the phone up a few times over the past few days.

Hello FC.

Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Tue 01-Jun-21 21:29:43

‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a lovely afternoon minding the smalls of the family. We took them to TGI Fridays for lunch (interesting) and stopped off at Sainsbury’s to buy some garden toys - skipping ropes, , Peppa Pig bubble machine. Played in their garden in the sunshine until mummy came home.

We swung by our favourite bar again when we got home. Hmm. Need to rein it in a bit. Himself is probably nursing his wallet after today’s expenditures.
?

Gorgeous photo cornergran. Thanks for the explanation maddyone kind of you. Oh Galen it looks yummy but am I dim? What is it? It looks like a chocolate orange, opened with the segments artfully displayed. Then I thought is it ginger cake done in a fancy tin? It looks yummy (whatever t is).

Great news Jax ?? these vaccinations are holding up. Fab. I can’t imagine the panic if they hadn’t. Doesn’t bear thinking about.

Hi Doodle ?

muse I hope your son rings SOON. Bless you, keep picking your phone up then deciding ‘not yet’.
?

I’m off to see if I put the kettle on Himself will take the hint if I wander off and brew up? My money’s on yes ...
?

Night all. Sleep tight. Don’t let the bed bugs bite. x

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Jun-21 22:24:41

Hello everyone! Late again.
It has been very hot today - we have gardened in the shade, keeping as cool as possible.
I found a strange grub in the bedroom yesterday - it looked like a clothes moth. Aaargh! I need to search all the clothes I think. Wish me luck ...

Urmstongran Tue 01-Jun-21 22:44:30

Dear Reader, it worked a treat! ☕️ ?
I put the kettle on, wandered off into the bathroom to remove my eye make up and heard the mugs and spoon rattling. ...

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Jun-21 23:01:44

Sneaky Urms!

cornergran Wed 02-Jun-21 13:37:25

I think we must be related urms, similar strategies successfully employed here . smile.

soop Wed 02-Jun-21 13:41:10

...and breathe...

OH what a lovely, happy, chatty time we've enjoyed with Matt and his partner. So many special memories to savour and share. The sun shone throughout. We've had the best of Bank hols ever.

There is an awful lot of catching up to do. Bear with me for a day or so, please. I need to get back on track but it will take time.

To make life even sweeter than it already is, "Sweetie Pie" Fern spent the night in her apartment. After four fresh chicken breakfasts, she slept on the utility room mat.

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Jun-21 13:48:23

That sounds like you have had a wonderful time, Soop. I'm not long home from a visit to mum and then a catch up with friends over coffee and the most delicious lemon drizzle cake. Lucky Fern!

GrannySomerset Wed 02-Jun-21 13:50:31

How lovely, Soop, all your pleasures together. We too have had a busy holiday weekend with both families, overlapping for lunch on Monday. Wonderful SiL has tackled a number of garden jobs which are beyond me now and we look much better for it.

First lot of sheets in the drier, second lot in the washer and then just towels to do. Pity the rain didn’t hold off a bit longer but it has been a glorious weekend weather wise and I am suitably grateful.

Now absolutely done for so a very restful afternoon is called for.
