Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice clear blue sky start here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day of household chores , before I get the bus to Bicester for an hour .
Returning to watch cycling coverage , which at the moment is also facing French open coverage .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, everyone, from a sunny but breezy Torbay.

Yesterday, I packed a picnic lunch and travelled to Teignmouth on the top deck of the bus for the views of Labrador Bay which was unfortunately rather hazy. My destination did not disappoint and I enjoyed a stroll along the prom with many other holidaymakers. After lunch, I indulged in the naughty treat of a 99! The tide was high with spray soaking folk close to the railing which I’ve tried to capture in my third photo.

Today I start three days of being a live “exhibit” at Brixham Museum, alternating between rôle playing a Victorian poet with a smuggler, along with friends from our theatre company.

I hope everyone can find a reason to smile and we shall soon hear from absent friends. ☀️??

Good morning from a sunny, cloudless E Kent.
Glad you both had a nice day yesterday, Mick and Ash. Ours was like any other Monday. I can’t remember ever going out on a BH weekend in the 45 years I’ve known DH. The crowds and traffic put him off!
Tai chi, then supermarket today. With any luck, we’ll also go to a furniture shop and choose new sitting room sofa/s ?, they’ve been promised for nearly two years... the present ones are serviceable but shabby now.
Hope the GraMmingos find some smiles ?, sunshine ☀️, flamingos ? and missing mojos. ????

Morning all from another glorious sunny start here on the south coast.

Your DH has the right idea about Bank Holidays, Mattie and we too always stay put and avoid the crowds and traffic! No pleasure in either! We enjoy our garden and often comment on how fortunate we are to have our own oasis to enjoy. It would be a different story if we had no private outside space.

I am going to give myself a pedicure today. I have a deep moisturising foot pack to try which seems to involve tying some plastic bags round my feet for 20 minutes, whilst they absorb a tea tree and peppermint treatment. I hope to be dancing on air afterwards! wink

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Morning Mick, morning All. A clear blue sky over our corner of Somerset.

We did venture forth yesterday and had a truly enjoyable day in spite of a couple of traffic holdups. Felt for the folk causing the return journey jam, their car had broken down in the middle lane of a motorway, must have been terrifying. A mix of browsing a couple of shops, a walk round a very pretty lake and several family hours including a very enjoyable BBQ made for an enjoyable day.

We’re staying put today catching up on some admin, cleaning and if the visit from the washing machine engineer proves positive there will be laundry. Also hoping for some positive news of a friend who broke his hip last week, in his late 80’s he didn’t bounce too well.

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all especially those with health and other worries.

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate. Lovely photos Ashcombe. Today I’ll get more washing done - strike while the iron’s hot!! Lovely to get yesterday’s washed curtains repaired and hung up - they look so much fresher. This better weather seems to have given me my mojo back! It was good to meet a lady we’ve often chatted to when out walking the dog, I decided it was time we introduced ourselves. I get the impression she’s quite lonely ?.
Tomorrow we have dgs to look after for the day - he’s such a little character.
Hope to come back to read what you have been up to. Meantime have the best day you can!

Pilates today.

Hope everyone has a safe day.

Good morning all from a sunny S Hants. Love your photo’s Ashcombe, good luck with your thespians, hope your costumes are not too heavy in the heat. Yesterday was pottering for me, today similar but need to chase JL to confirm if furniture is being delivered Friday or not.
Enjoy your day all ????.
Hope Marydoll and Cherry are rested, maybe some news from Grandmajet.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 01-Jun-21 07:14:40

Morning Mick and all

The sky is blue and the sun is out yippee ?

I have a busy day fist I am off to an indoor trampoline park with DD and the boys. Two hours of bouncing and then lunch!
Then it’s back here so the boys can swim (well one will swim and I have no idea what The Imp will do but I guess we shall get splashed). Then this evening we are all out to dinner at our local Indian restaurant. They are all staying here tonight, o I maybe late posting tomorrow.

Lovely photos Ashcombe and cornergran

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. Pinch punch.

I was another who stayed home yesterday and enjoyed my garden doing very little other than reading. There is a lot of houses all around me and there wasn’t a sound. No lawn mowing or children playing despite the number of trampolines (garden monsters) I can see from the bedroom windows. All I could hear was the birds.

Swimming today and I think I’ll venture off to a garden centre that sells other things as well as plants.

BeechNutella has her first vaccination this afternoon I’m pleased to say.

How exciting to be a smuggler Ash. Don’t get caught ???‍♂️

Take care all and enjoy your day ?

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another sunny start to the day. Yesterday was a cracking day, wall to wall sunshine a light breeze and about 20 degrees - perfect for me! I spent the day lazing in the garden with a few short spells doing a bit of weeding and tidying up. More of the same today I think
I love that you venture out for day trips on your own Ash I know you’ve not much choice with olddudders being in France but even so you still go for it - good on you! And your next few days sound so different, I bet you have a great time
Fingers crossed you get your new sofa GM never an easy task choosing!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope there’s a flamingo hiding somewhere and take care all whatever the day brings

Dwmxwg Tue 01-Jun-21 07:18:13

Good morning from a sunny north Surrey.
I am a little bit pink from sitting in mum and dads garden and then several hours of weeding at the allotment. You would think that I would have learnt by my age!
The traffic around Virginia Water was horrendous with cars parked wherever they could find a space, far too stressful for me. However my DD’s pictures of them at Windsor, it looked very quiet.
I am booked to work this afternoon, wondering if I might get cancelled again after a long weekend there will have been few admissions, we shall see. There is always plenty to do so I am not too worried and my back is feeling it after the weeding.
Hoping all have a good day and the ☀️ continues to shine

Morning from another bright start here in West Yorks.Feelin pleased that we have at last caught up with getting the garden looking ship shape and the joy of being out in the sun.Good luck with the furniture buy Grandmattie we had the pleasure last week, now the hassle of decor/colour scheme before the 16 wk del. years ago would have been so excited but it's a minefield and unlike the younger generation changing on regular basis our choice will be here to stay.Have appt for my reg blood test this morn and if can get motivated will attack pile of ironing which I have ignored since the sun started shining.

Good morning all from a beautifully sunny and promising north end of the country. Two days on the trot! Absolutely wonderful. I had the most satisfying of days yesterday achieving domestic bits and pieces. Some have been in the 'must do' section of my head for ages. Was spurred on by the presence of my local handyman who was dealing with a couple of bigger jobs. Oh, it was all go in the nicest possible way. Just thinking..... every day is pretty much a BH in this life of retirement for me. And to think I never fancied it. What an idiot! Hope all who read this have at least one highlight today.

Pittcity Tue 01-Jun-21 07:26:01

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
We are in the steer clear of Bank Holiday crowds group. Lawn mowing and bbqing was everywhere around us and we joined in!
Laundry today, as it's safe to put it out without fearing BBQ smoke.
DD2 and DGS2 are coming over for the day. We will shop and run around in the park. Both are 5 minutes walk from us.
Love and hugs to all x

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Jun-21 07:28:32

Good morning all. Hazy sunshine in Polmont. Ashcombe good luck with your characters. It sounds like fun.
Yesterday was a lovely day but my very rusty garden chair gave up the ghost with me sitting on it and I ended up on the ground. A bit of a painful shock but rather me than pregnant dd. My right knee is uncomfortable and I have a sore head. Time to invest in new furniture. Today I will be babysitting so fish man visit then the park. We will play in the garden this afternoon. Have a good day all.

kittylester Tue 01-Jun-21 07:35:14

Morning all. As dragonfly says, Leicestershire is very sunny.

Yesterday we did some gardening and then had a barbecue. Today, we are going to a garden centre for things to fill the gaps we created. We also have to find new flooring for the en suite and then the decorator is coming to give us a quote. I also have a Zoom Alzheimer's cafe.

Have a great day everyone.

NanKate Tue 01-Jun-21 07:42:28

Morning Mick and All.

The summer has arrived in South Bucks hurray ? We ate our supper on our front lawn last night which was lovely.

We have our WI Zoom meeting this afternoon.

Must pop down to get DH a birthday card and a few edible delights for Sunday as he has got to a stage where he doesn’t want any presents. I haven’t got to that stage yet ?

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits, carrots, carrots, carrots. ??????

NanKate Tue 01-Jun-21 07:43:06

Morning Kitty.

Alygran Tue 01-Jun-21 07:43:10

Good morning from the Peaks where the sun is shining.
We had a lovely day again yesterday. DD1 and family came to DD2’s for the afternoon. Much chat and laughter.
Today DD2 and I are going shopping. After my successful WW efforts I need new summer clothes.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning all from a lovely sunny Black country.
Went to our usual garden centre yesterday wanted a few things from farm shop, big disappointment not much there. We did manage to buy a new bird bath, long queues at the cafe so thought we would go to the garden centre a little further down. The car park didn't look to busy but soon found out why their lovely lakeside cafe was closed not opening until next week. So it was back home for a drink in the garden.
Lovely photos on here today.
Take care all and enjoy day.

harrigran Tue 01-Jun-21 07:47:27

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was another pleasant day so I cleaned all of the ground floor windows.
DD met up with DS and family for the afternoon and then called in on her way home.
I think I will do some washing today and hang it in the garden, DH loathes to see it on the line but 'what the eye doesn't see' wink
Enjoy the proper June weather.

NannyJan53 Tue 01-Jun-21 07:50:05

Alizarin Tue 01-Jun-21 07:52:03

Morning all from a cloudy but balmy south Cornwall. Thank you for more welcomes back yesterday. Took an early Bank Holiday ferry across the Fal to St Mawes. Bonkers crowds of people but so lovely to see families crabbing on the quay. Glad to get home though away from the crush. Reclined and swung gently on my patio seat for the rest of the day listening to the Poldark books, which I somehow missed when I was younger. Today, much pottering to persuade my reluctant bits-and-bobs-filled flat into shape ahead of my op. Have the best day you can everyone.
