Nothing in particular planned today but I can always keep myself occupied.
I’ll have a walk and deliver a note and some fairy cakes to a friend, collect a prescription and buy some strawberries.

Have the best day you can everyone and I hope you all find a smile along the way.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where the sun is also trying to peek through the clouds.
Forty five years ago today, DH and I got engaged in Kelvingrove Park, in the shadow of Glasgow University. I had just finished my last exam, Archeology, and DH was waiting for me when I came out of the examination hall, an old church. It was all very romantic, shame it went downhill after that! The picture is of the very spot. One Christmas, our children gave us a painting of there, as they knew how much it meant to us.

Last night we had an unexpected phone call to say our replacement, outside conservatory door were ready and they could fit them at 8am this morning! ?
Cue a mad scramble to clear the furniture and get the blinds down. DH is so impatient and didn't wait for me to water my tomato and pepper plants first , before piling everything in a corner. Consequently, I couldn't reach them to water them. My poor babies will probably be deceased, by the time I reach them. Our conservatory is a hothouse at the best of times!?
DH is of course golfing, so I have been left to deal with it. I'm a bit concerned, as some tweaking will be required. They were an irregular size and had to be made to order. ? I'm in catastrophe mode and expecting problems!

Yesterday, I promised I would not buy any more fruit tress, sorry folks I lied! DH spotted an red lime tree, and I was seduced by its quirkiness, it begged me to take it home for the conservatory! ? It was actually DH's fault. After all, he was the one who put it in the trolley! ?

DD and DIL are off on a belated honeymoon to Orkney today, only a year late! They ended up staying for dinner last night, as they had emptied their fridge in preparation for being away.
A really enjoyable evening was had by all.
DD, as usual, left with a care pack. I had made a parcel of her favourite chocolate, sharing bags for her holiday and a packet of pants! Why pants, you ask? From past experience, I know she never brings enough. On one occasion, we trawled the shops in Rome, as she forgot to bring any! I will say no more about that! blush

Wishing you all a pleasant day and thinking of all my dear friends, who are struggling. I'm looking forward to reading all your news.
I must dash, wash my ( mad) hair, get dressed and move my car.

Good morning everyone from Essex by the sea. The sun was shining when I got up but it has clouded over now.
DH is having his hair cut this morning and then going to his boat. I'm not sure what I will be doing, I've woken up with a headache so hoping it will disappear soon.
I'm glad your journey was uneventful GM, enjoy your day shopping. Granddaughters love to shop !!!
Have a pleasant Friday everyone xx

Good morning Mick and All.

A bit cooler but still pleasant in South Bucks.

Our cleaner arrives at 8.30 today and we like to leave her to it, so we are going to our favourite cafe for breakfast, however DH always insists on having his cereal at home first which consists of a bowl of muesli and a mound of fruit and yoghurt. Then he will have coffee and croissant at the cafe. He only weighs 10 stone so I can’t deny him two breakfasts.

It’s DH’s 76 birthday on Sunday so I am taking him out to The Ivy for lunch. It’s such a lovely experience there and I can wear my charity shop jacket I bought this week for £9.99 ??

Have the best weekend you can Folks.

Good morning all from bright Harrogate. Yesterday was really a nothing day - got my Sainsburies shopping delivered, did a bit of cleaning, washed some blankets, took dog for a walk, had coffee in the garden. If DH has his way today will be the same, but I intend to go into town on the bus!
GrandMattie it’s a joy to hear about little Iris’s challenges, glad your journey was better than you feared.
Good Luck Gagagran with the powers that be! May you prove to be more powerful!!
Good luck with your blood ? test this pm Mick
Hope today is a good day for all.

Gelisajams Fri 04-Jun-21 07:10:46

Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay where fluffy clouds float round a blue sky. Glad you didn’t get those injections en route to Bristol Mattie. Your journey was stressful enough grin
We are of to the garage in Wigan which looks after the campa. Tiny cracks have appeared in the tread of its fairly new tyres so we are getting them checked out by a garage we trust.
Hope everyone had a decent night’s sleep and wishing everyone a fun packed day! Whatever you do stay safe and take care. ???

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
BIL rang to say he was bringing compost for my patio pots which was good because I could ask him to collect DH's prescription for increased morphine.
After lunch the family called for an hour, just the youngest GD as eldest had retired to bed with a hot water bottle and painkillers, I fear she is a martyr to period pain as I used to be.
I sent her a WhatsApp message and she replied that she was disappojnted as she was so looking forward to seeing us.
Last night I was cutting up an enormous box for the recycling when a neighbour said she would have taken it for her GS to play in, shame she didn't arrive five minutes earlier and save my aching hands.
Today would have been my mother's birthday, she used to have the most lovely rose garden and they would be starting to bloom at this time with wonderful scents.
Enjoy the warmth.

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

My #lazygran day didn’t get off to a good start yesterday when we realised I had DD’s car keys in my handbag so my day started with a 25 mile trip to drop them off?

Glad the journey went well mattie and enjoy your day shopping.

DD has a spa day today so we have the children.DGD and I are going to walk into town and have lunch in the cafe bar in the square. She loves girlie days at the moment with mummy or me.DH and H will have a day in the garden.

Thinking of our absent friends, those unwell, with worries, illness or looking after loved ones?

Have a good day all??

Good morning to the early birds and those who follow from a bright, sunny Torbay, following a cooler night which was welcome.

I hope you achieve the desired outcome from your meeting today, Gagagran. No doubt the council representative will try to wriggle out of taking responsibility for the compensation that is due to you.

My three day live exhibit stint at Brixham has ended. Besides being a smuggler and the Victorian poet, Priscilla Shrives, I added a new rôle yesterday of distraught fisherman's wife, seeking news of his missing trawler! (Yes, alright, a fishwife!!) One dear lady was moved to tears whilst a little boy became so involved in my story that I had to reassure him that all would be well!

In the course of the project, I’ve met some interesting people, both locals and holidaymakers, some of whom have traced their ancestry. One was actually a descendant of Priscilla! I bought a few items from the bookshop, including a book for my youngest grandchild entitled “The Pirates of Men's Pants”!!

It would be a disaster if I worked in a charity shop as I wouldn’t be able to resist a bargain, Baubles! You always seem busy, Dwmxwg, and I admire your energy levels! I’m so glad your journey went well, grandMattie, and it’s wonderful to hear how well Iris is doing. Girlie shopping will be a treat!

Enjoy whatever life brings you today, good people! (and the naughty ones!) ???

Beechnut Fri 04-Jun-21 06:48:59

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry and cloudy at the front of the house. Dry and blue sky at the back.

Happy birthday for MrDwm ?? and welcome to the West Country Mattie.

Food shop this morning after a visit to the post office. I used to just stick a load of stamps on my US mail and put them in the post box. Nowadays with rising costs I take them to be weighed.

Depends how warm/hot it gets I might mow the lawn later.

Hope you all have a good day ??

grandMattie Fri 04-Jun-21 06:36:54

? injections = connections!

grandMattie Fri 04-Jun-21 06:36:11

Oh, if sheep is reading, Iris was asking about Dobby - how he was doing. X

grandMattie Fri 04-Jun-21 06:35:23

Good morning from a clear cool Bristol.
Thank yo, the journey went OK apart from two delays, but I’d didn’t mean we missed any injections. The Tube journey which I was dreading went well. Although busy, the platforms were not three deep, or the tubes themselves, not breathing room only. Everyone was on the whole masked and polite p.
The girls were at the station to meet us. Iris walked all the way, a good 10 minute walk from the house, on her crutches. She can now move so fast!
Today, we’re doing girlie shopping with grandma, Iris in the morning and DGD1 alone with me in the afternoon. I shall be shopped out!
I’m finding that many people around make me anxious, not for contagion reasons, but more in the agoraphobic sense. It’s very silly really!
I’m working on Iris finding the original flamingo ?. I hope you all have a good day with plenty of smiles ?, sunshine ☀️And a flamboyance of flamingos ???? ?

Gagagran Fri 04-Jun-21 06:25:05

Good Morning Mick, Dwmxwg and all who follow. It's cloudy here on the south coast and 12.9c so cooler that yesterday morning. It was a fresher night too so sleep was easier.

We are expecting a visit from the County Council this morning, to discuss our claim for the road widening which they did when the new housing estate opposite our house was built. They took 9 feet off the grass verge outside our house to widen the road, so that a road into the estate could be constructed. Obviously this brought the road nearer to our house .

For the last two years they have gone round in circles, delayed, refused to answer and done everything they could to avoid the question of compensation. Only when DH told them he was going to take them to a tribunal did anything happen. Now the "big cheese" is coming to see us so we'll see what he has to say.

Need to finish my click and collect shopping list for tomorrow's pick up and the usual chores are always available too. Easier now that it's cooler.

Hope the day is a good one for us all and that Mattie made it to Bristol without too much stress.

baubles Fri 04-Jun-21 06:17:41

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is trying to get through the clouds.

We had fun afternoon with the little ones yesterday, gymnastics class then a wander along the front and an hour on the beach. So good to be outside in decent weather.

Today is charity shop day where I’ll try not to come home with more than I take in. I hope it’s busy, I enjoy the buzz of dealing with lots of customers.

Have the best possible day. ?

Dwmxwg Fri 04-Jun-21 06:12:47

Good morning all from sunny north Surrey.
Off out to the gym soon. A visit to mum and dad this morning..
Bathrooms to clean and bed needs changing.
Sort out clothes for weekend on the IOW for DH’s birthday and to support his DS who is running a half marathon there.
Hope GrandMattie’s journey all went to plan.
Wishing all a good day
