What is making you happy today?

I’m happy to be fit , strong and healthy and off to my voluntary job today .

A fresh jug of water delivered to my hospital bedside just now by a lovely young man. Plus a paper cup of painkillers, yippee.

Early start, washing on, most of garden furniture painted, new project at work today, which will be fun and it’s not raining.

Alizarin I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital. I hope the painkillers work promptly.

Just so grateful for small things, good weather, reasonable health, lovely garden, looking forward today to going out to lunch with my friends which has been rearranged for the third time.

The 2 pairs of linen trousers that I ordered and then wondered if they would be too small both fitted - Hoorah!!

Beautiful morning here and I am riding out with a friend who is kindly lending me one of her horses as mine is recovering from an injury. The views will be stunning on such a lovely day. Lunch in the garden followed by some light gardening and we might have a BBQ this evening. Should be a good day!

I’m sitting in the middle of a field in my Campervan about to get the bus to Bamburgh and walk 12 miles back along the coast. Meeting up with friends on the bus for this hike.....bliss.
This gives me great joy after a thoroughly depressing meeting up for coffee with an old friend on the journey north. I suspect that I am the first friend he has met up with since before last March. I felt so sad that despite the fact both he and his wife have been double vaccinated they have not gone out or done anything apart from watch TV for 15 months. I fear that they will never get out again and enjoy the outdoor things that they previously loved.
I also felt sad and angry that I was very obviously being very badly judged for the fact that I am getting on with my life, going places, meeting friends and family and that I have remained active and positive all this time. I suspect that yesterday may have been the end of a pleasant friendship of 35 years.
So today makes me very happy indeed. The birds are singing and the sky is blue and I’m out hiking.

Sunshine and knowing my family and friends are safe and well.

Gorgeous day. Son got his promotion. Feel that both my kids (early 30s) are finally on track for their futures. OH is happy. All’s well.

Having my patio cleaned and repointed! First outdoor choir rehearsal last night, and granddaughter coming for tea! Oh...and beautiful weather, my garden is a joy at the moment!

My 6 month old granddaughter is just back from her first swimming class and absolutely loved it ?

Reading the obituaries in the paper and finding I was not amongst them ?

I am happy to be alive, freely moving about. No health issues. content in my new home (just moved). The sun is out, blue sky and the wild birds come to visit. Pottering around in our garden. Filling hanging baskets with trailing flowers.

The blue sky and sun it makes most things feel better .

Starting my day with a swim as I’m so lucky to live near Cheltenham Ladies College….. always makes me feel good. The thought of a wonderful w/e in Suffolk visiting DD and family….and staying nearby in a beautiful hotel, first one for a year! A walk later on our local hill with views all across to the Severn valley ☀️

My sisters-in-law and their husbands are coming for afternoon coffee.

It is nearly two years since we were altogether last.

The house is clean and tidy, right down to the much needed new toilet seat DH finally affixed to the toilet in our bathroom!

The weather is glorious and I found time to mow the front lawn yesterday.

Looking forward to a week's holiday in Scotland after a year of no travel.

Haircut yesterday, more modern style, sure I won’t be able to replicate the blow drying and straightening though. Will be back to wayward curls soon!
OH having music on the radio this morning rather than depressing discussion programs. Had a wee dance round.

I’ve just finished a pile of ironing that has been staring at me for days.

Sat in the garden watching the birds whilst waiting for 3 friends to arrive for cake and chat. Happy days.

Quite happy to be alive and breathing- I am happy to be able to swim 3+ miles per week and walk my two dogs. Makes me happy to be cleaning out and organizing my condo. Thankful to be healthy and able to work. Dreaming about coming home to the UK.

Gardening- weeding as we have been away for 8 days on a lovely staycation- and Chelsea chopping all the early cranesbill geraniums, to give light and space to other plants coming up, and a second display later.

Rain has stopped play, but that is OK.

Going to the beach ?
