Hello Kitchen types
Hope everyone is feeling well and optimistic - lots of summer time left yet. So good to hear about visits and gatherings and outings. Just hope everyone is still being careful, though. My Doc said this afternoon that we need to stay vigilant. (I know, different country, but when you have lots of people on the move at holiday time, some are not as careful as they should be!)
So sad to finally hear the news you were expecting, corner, but how lovely that she benefitted from having you as neighbours. Supporting each other in times of hardship and sorrow is such a good thing to do. I would have had a small 'turn' at the loss of the flowers, but on the other hand rising above actions so low and having taken along replacements.....well, it's the only way to deal with it.
All good ideas, soop - and you are a dear but don't need to water down your day by sharing it with me! Whatever next. I shall be pleased to join in with your bash, though, if I may. I was going to suggest that the very dear (but norty) Argybargygang would be a nice addition to the party - as long as you made sure that dear Doodle is coming. Then you go and spoil that good behaviour guarantee by telling us that she might Pole Dance! So, maybe not the best influence on the others? Who do we know who can do crowd control and can use a big stick if necessary? I shall leave you to ponder that one. What alcoholic beverages will be on offer? None of that paint stripper stuff by the yard, please. This is a special day, we need to up the quality a bit so what about raiding Sweetie Pie's huge food fund for extra cash. She won't mind. ?⬛
DH is in our kitchen - in his happy place - preparing supper. He has been almost running a stopwatch until allowed to get up and walk properly again. 48 hours post treatment! However, he's painfree, so as long as I clean the litter trays and do the bins - and nice girly things like that - he's hoping to be fine.
Had a lovely chat with my GP. She is so kind and compassionate and can't do enough to help or take away her patients' anxieties. Today she made me laugh and announced that she needed to get some job satisfaction sometimes, 'which is why I'm talking to you instead of racing through the queue', she said. Some ingrate had been very rude to her, it seems, so that had made her a bit fed up.
I was taken aback when I got out of my car this afternoon at the numbers of weeds which have just sprung into action during this last week when we have deserted our plants for medical matters elsewhere. Just one week? They're easily pulled, but are beginning to look quite meaningful, so that's a job for the morning I think.
Hope you all have a restful end to Friday and are looking forward to the weekend. Hugs to absent posters, bigger hugs to those in attendance plus a wave from across the Channel and down a lot.
Stay safe chaps! ??
