soop that is indeed great news about that gorgeous little boy. You will really enjoy that G&T later. I’m glad, too, that the water supply hasn’t dried up.
Charleygirl hasn’t abandoned the Kitchen and will be back when she can sort things out.

Grandmabatty Sun 18-Jul-21 18:45:50

Oh that's good news Soop. He's a wee scone. I have had roast chicken with Ayrshire new potatoes and ratatouille, followed by Scottish strawberries and cream. I'm now stuffed. Good evening Kitcheners.

This is the latest text message regarding Toby...
He has had two negative tests. Most of the tubes have been removed. There is a video of him dancing in his cot.

On that extremely happy note, I wish all you lovely lot a pleasant and peaceful Sunday evening. Thank you for your support. flowers smile moon

So glad to hear Toby is doing well and that the water supply may soon be restored soop.

soop Sun 18-Jul-21 16:33:14

Simon, the black pussy cat, is not behaving at all well (in water colour). I have ditched three attempts thus far. I'm about to start the fourth. Please may it show some early promise. wink

Izabella It's good news day. Hoorah!

Izabella Sun 18-Jul-21 16:17:12

Good afternoon from a blissfully sunny shire. I cannot begin to catch up with kitchen events but suffice to say I hope all is well

Just popped in to say current husband is thoroughly enjoying life after his cataract surgery. Totally painless and a great result

Blessings to you all

Nannytopsy Sun 18-Jul-21 15:53:39

We have a Toby too! He is a kind and generous 40 something who organises whole-family get togethers.

annodomini Sun 18-Jul-21 14:39:30

Happy to hear about Toby's progress. Soon he will be able to live like a normal, happy wee boy. What a relief for his parents. I have a Toby too, but he's a big (and very nice) teenager.
It's uncomfortably hot again and I have taken a fan down from the top of a cupboard. How lovely it would be to sit out in the sun, but I'd be toast in no time.

soop Sun 18-Jul-21 14:16:18

Heartfelt thank yous to our lovely kitcheners. Toby may be going home in the not too distant future. He has to produce two further negative virus tests.

The spring hasn't dried up, thank goodness. It is healthy. The catchment and holding tanks were leaking. Our neighbour spent an entire day in the hills doing vital cleaning and repairing. There is still a problem. It appears that a section of the lengthy underground piping needs pumping out before the water collects and travels to the three properties depending upon it. Tomorrow, he's to hire a powerful pump. With luck, it should solve the remaining part of the problem.

Back to the drawing board. As per, I'm having trouble with the pussy cat painting. I shall return a little later. flowers

I’ve lots of news to catch up on but first just wanted to say I’m so pleased that’s all ok with brave Toby soop , what a gorgeous little boy he is

cornergran Sat 17-Jul-21 20:12:28

Excellent news about To h, soop, hope, your water hitch is of short duration.

We’ve had a beach day today. Cooling breezes and really enjoyed seeing so many families having simple fun. Walked quite a long way (too far!) so should sleep well.

Susan56 Sat 17-Jul-21 19:25:26

Oh soop what a lovely picture of Toby???Hope the virus clears very soon.x

annodomini Sat 17-Jul-21 17:33:26

What a lovely photo of Toby! He's a fighter and lets hope he is succeeding in defying the virus. So pleased for him, for his parents and for you.
Your water supply is rather worrying. Wish I could send you some from Cheshire, though the last time we had a long dry spell they had to open up a borehole nearby. This part of England has had much less rain than almost any other area recently.

muse Sat 17-Jul-21 17:09:01

soop
A beautiful photo of Toby. I’m hoping you have news soon that the virus has cleared.
You look very relaxed in the village photos and pleased to hear you’re doing the same tonight with that G+T. I might just join you ?
Best wishes to your friend. Does she know the portrait of her cats await her return after the operation?
I fully understand your anxiety about the water supply. Ours is spring fed too. From the common land next to us. It’s only dried up twice in 40 years. Our little water wheel provides the energy to pump water up to the cottage but there’s been many times the stream’s too low for this and MrM connects up a diesel pump. We have plenty of large containers in case it dries completely. The photo is not recent. The wheel is much slower at the moment. ?hope your spring in the hills is still flowing.

soop Sat 17-Jul-21 16:45:00

I cannot thank you lovely lot enough for being here in our kitchen. Even though I've not been "with it", I knew that you would understand. You are the BEST. flowers

A friend in the village is having knee surgery next week. She is a very kind lady. She has adopted two cats. I have painted a portrait of one. It's my aim to paint the second cat, Simon's portrait in readiness for her homecoming.

This evening we will relax for the first time since Toby went into hospital. I shall raise a large G&T in celebration at nine o'clock sharp.

Bye for now. Back again in the morrow. smile moon

soop Sat 17-Jul-21 16:38:55

We are still waiting for a first hand report regarding the status of the spring high in the hills. Our lovely neighbour has been on the scene for several hours. He will call in once he is satisfied that there isn't a leakage. That's doubtful. We haven't had rain for weeks on end. The burn running through the village is extremely low. It's baking hot here. It seems to be undeniable proof that climate change is making it's presence known throughout the world.

mrshat Sat 17-Jul-21 16:32:35

Great news and great photo soopxx

Grandmafrench Sat 17-Jul-21 16:26:35

Oh soop, how simply wonderful. Happy tears here!
Not sure what I love more, his little face or those lovely jim jams not quite covering his brave boy dressing. Heartfelt wishes that he'll now be good as new. ?. Such a relief for you all.

Grannmarie Sat 17-Jul-21 15:58:43

Beautiful boy, Soop, glad to hear the good news.

Super breakfast, Grandmabatty!

We're heading home now after our wee break in Broughty Ferry, it has done us a power of good. ?

Blossoming Sat 17-Jul-21 15:44:26

Hellogirl I’d like to join Billy! I love the heat but I’m feeling quite sickly now and the thought of food is making me feel worse! It will be a very light and very late meal tonight.

Blossoming Sat 17-Jul-21 15:40:47

Fabulous photo soop, so happy for you and your family x

Hellogirl1 Sat 17-Jul-21 15:21:46

Oh, what a lovely photo of Toby, and great to read good news. I hope your water supply hasn`t dried up completely Soop.
It must be hot, Billy has refused food for the first time since he got here, he`s lying behind the settee, almost comatose. Hasn`t eaten since breakfast.
