Welcome to Thread II!

We companionably mused, gossiped and waffled about Royalty, and vaguely related things for 1000 posts!

Starting with names; and ending on them them…
and in between covered everything from Adam Faith to Scottish Country Dancing!

So, as before, God Bless this Ship and All who Sail in her! ??

Neither good or bad camp, just a woman who didn’t give interviews slagging of her own family or her ex in laws.

Alegrias1 Tue 03-Aug-21 13:47:28

I think there's a hierarchy Lucca. Like the curtseying one, but inverted. wink

Lucca Tue 03-Aug-21 13:11:29

Anniebach

Fergie has never given an interview slagging off her ex in laws

Ah so she’s in the “good royals camp “ is she ?

Anniebach Tue 03-Aug-21 12:06:28

Fergie has never given an interview slagging off her ex in laws

FannyCornforth Tue 03-Aug-21 10:11:12

It must be very difficult for Fergie, because she obviously absolutely adores the man.
And his poor daughters

There's the Duchess f York on TV now, making out Andy is wonderful! She's very clever. Morfing into a good Royal. She should write a book "How to divorce and stay a Duchess"

FannyCornforth Tue 03-Aug-21 08:34:26

Speaking of ‘clever’ - I loved your deflection trisher!

FannyCornforth Tue 03-Aug-21 08:33:16

Does anyone watch The Windsors?
Nothing can satirise the RF better. It’s very clever and hilarious.
One clever decision was not to portray HM and the DoE at all. They are referenced; the Duke writes a lot of letters for instance, but never shown.
Allegedly W & C are fans

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 03-Aug-21 08:23:39

I don’t know if any of you watched Big Bang Theory but there’s a wonderful episode where Sheldon buys Amy a tiara as a present. She is so over the moon. I would be too. I bought a wonderful book about tiaras at the V&A.

It does appear very cruel Annie. Thanks for the heads up ladies, I’ll have a look at the other thread.

Anniebach Mon 02-Aug-21 20:31:32

That’s so cruel Maddy

Have you chosen one Blossoming ?

Blossoming Mon 02-Aug-21 19:50:16

Claire’s are selling tiaras at 50% off! They even have a royal tiara. Guess where I’m going tomorrow?

(Prince) George’s World
In TV, films.

Lucca Mon 02-Aug-21 19:34:53

There’s a whole thread on this yes.

Has anyone else seen the trailer of the truly horrid American production The Prince?

I think there was a separate GN thread on this maddyone unless it has disappeared?
Since then I have read how Prince Philip is portrayed in the video, dribbling, which yet again is distasteful and out of order.

I assumed women would be allowed to join the Mothers Union,
I was a widow who joined the Mothers Union,

Calendargirl Mon 02-Aug-21 18:02:06

You don’t have to be a mother to be in the Mothers’ Union. You don’t have to be married, you can be widowed, divorced, female, male, trans, bi.

(Actually not sure about the last two, but the MU is very accepting nowadays).

trisher Mon 02-Aug-21 17:50:31

Bedtime stories in the Markle household- And so the prince and his true love were married. But she realised immediately that the tiara was too tight, so she flogged it on e-bay, sold her story to Netflix and moved the family to California where they lived happily ever after.
Happy? Sparklefizz?

Sparklefizz Mon 02-Aug-21 16:03:35

trisher

I'm just imagining the Middleton's bedtime Stories.
So the prince kissed the princess and she woke up. Then he said he had some more wild oats to sow and left her, but like all good princesses she waited and waited for him
^ When she kissed the frog it turned into a prince, but she had to keep on kissing him to make sure he didn't turn back again^

So if someone made up a bitchy story about Meghan, you'd be happy with that, would you trisher? No? Why do it about Kate, then?

That’s another thing that Catherine does really, really well - curtseying.
The more I think about it, the more convinced I am about her (and her mother’s) ambition.
I’d love to have a few bevvies with Pippa and get her to spill the beans.
Or even better, Michael. Now there’s a man who could do with letting his hair down!

maddyone Mon 02-Aug-21 14:47:38

My surname is King.

Well I think we’ll all have to curtsey to you Ellianne.

maddyone Mon 02-Aug-21 14:45:59

A royal trans person, that really would bring them into the same world as the rest of us.

maddyone Mon 02-Aug-21 14:44:54

Sorry, got the letters the wrong way in some of my curtseys. My brain’s faddled with all this talk of who curtseys to who, it’s a good job I’m not royal, I’d never remember it all.
