Just seen Harry has written a tell it all book, well with a ghost writer anyway. What on earth is left to say? From what I understand it’s his life from his viewpoint along with lessons for us all. I’m beginning to feel sorry for the rest of the RF. where is it going to end.

I am so disapppointed in Harry. It seems he will do anything to make money, even shooting down his own family.
The book will just be more endless whinging I suppose.
I won't buy it.

Witzend, I think you’re right, it will sell, but it certainly won’t be a best seller. I very much doubt it’ll have any literary value. I think it’s probably being written primarily for the American audience. I feel very sorry for his family, especially Prince Charles. Frankly I’m appalled at this behaviour. Has he no dignity? He reminds me of Dr Faustus, the man who sold his soul to the devil.

Even certain psychotherapists, think he's gone overboard.

Namsnanny Tue 20-Jul-21 10:16:19

It's depressing to watch maddyone

Can there be anything left that we don’t already know?
More whining, whinging, and Poor Me, I find the entire thing so distasteful.

maddyone Tue 20-Jul-21 10:29:04

And if Harry is Dr Faustus (the man who sold his soul to the devil) who is Mephistopheles (who enabled Faustus to sell his soul to the devil) ?

I, for one, have enough of his poor me attitude. William went through the same ,as do thousands of children.. They now have the nerve, after all their hatred against his family,, to want to have their newest child Christened in front of the Queen. Are they worried they might lose family favour, well certainly lost it with many I imagine, and with many of the British public.

I had to laugh at a headline I saw from The Sun that talked about the book causing a ‘Tsunami of Fear amongst the Royals’. ( this was online on a news feed btw)
Get a grip.
We won’t need to worry about Covid anymore, as anyone who reads it will be dead of boredom.
He’s putting the last nail in the coffin of the British monarchy.
In 20 years we’ll be having a referendum on becoming a republic.
Someone ought to tell Harry about not killing the golden goose.
Be careful what you wish for.
As to Mephistopheles - I think it’ll be the Queen of Woo Woo, Oprah or else Meghan’s spiritual advisor -
Walt Disney.

It’s unbelievable that the two events have been announced within a week. Harry certainly isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer to accept these two announcements in the same week.

Very good Infinity grin

My family were incredibly patriotic. When the national anthem used to be played when the television stopped broadcasting, the whole family would stand up. Same at the pictures. My father saw the old King and Queen when they were opening something. He was so disappointed. He said they were caked in thick make up like mannequins.
The men who fought in my family would have despised Harry for dragging the Royal Family into the mud.
He should be ashamed of himself.

Apparently it’s an ‘Inspiring, uplifting and courageous human story’, according to the publishers who would know wouldn’t they. It really makes me sick and angry. Don’t know why it’s making me cross, perhaps it’s all the people who do important work and never ever get recognised for it or have the financial means to look after themselves. I used to feel sorry for Harry but I’d like to sit that man down and tell him what for. I bet a lot of other GNers could do a better job than me but I’m willing to volunteer. Off to stick my head in the freezer.

Quote from online:

"In a statement Harry said: 'I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become' - but one royal insider responded tartly: 'A book by Harry, as written by Meghan.'"

"Another source revealed that the announcement had provoked 'much eye-rolling', adding: 'I think everyone is just tired of being angry when it comes to those two. They have spent the last 18 months doing everything they promised Her Majesty they wouldn't do – making a living off their previous lives and status as members of the Royal Family. It's depressingly predictable, unfortunately.'"

Infinity2. My Dad was also surprised to see the king wearing make up but it was explained that it was so the men at the back of the regiment could see him properly. He was also very short apparently.

Had to laugh at the “from my perspective as a man “. I am probably not alone in thinking that CASH and HARRY need to get on with their private lives and grow up. Never has, Harry, ever had to think about how to earn a salary in order to pay the bills, mortgage etc.

JaneJudge Tue 20-Jul-21 11:13:46

it said on the news that proceeds from the book were going to charity

Anniebach Tue 20-Jul-21 11:18:04

Full proceeds or a percentage

Infinity2 Tue 20-Jul-21 11:18:19

But Harry is going to be ONE OF THE PEOPLE.
A prole, like me.

Give it ten years and he’ll be back to claim Universal Credit.
Mrs Candy Floss will have taken all his money founding The University of Superficiality for discontented underprivileged moaning aristos.

25Avalon Tue 20-Jul-21 11:18:37

What proceeds? Easy to give away nothing.

Note why have I become so cynical about H&M?

Infinity2 Tue 20-Jul-21 11:19:24

Have you seen how charitable donations are written off against tax in the States ?

Namsnanny Tue 20-Jul-21 11:24:44

Exactly Infinity2 win win

25Avalon Tue 20-Jul-21 11:33:32

Doesn’t he mean not that he has written it as the man he has become but as the worm he has become?

Kamiso Tue 20-Jul-21 11:35:44

The breath taking hypocrisy of this pair is incredible. She’s lied and trashed her family, snared Harry with the help of her Soho House crew, insisted on a wedding that cost as much as Catherines, bullied Charlotte unmercifully, trashed his family and now publicly ask to christen a child, whose never been seen, in the U.K. Win win for MM either way. More to add to her self pity party is she’s told no.

It’s staggering what one person can do to fracture a family when they set out to cause chaos.

I don’t think for one moment it will lead to a republic no matter how much some people would like it to.

Charles’ reign will be relatively short and he will finally get his slimmed down monarchy. The stress caused by Harry may well undermine his health. Not entirely fair to Edward who has been a real support to HM.

William and Catherine are extremely popular and have lots of good practical ideas to help create a better long term future, especially for disadvantaged children.

Alternatively we could have President Johnson or President Starmer and his hypocritical warring party.

AGAA4 Tue 20-Jul-21 11:37:16

To me Harry seems a very unhappy, discontented man. He is intent on picking at his sores. This should be a happy time in a young man's life with his children.

Ellianne Tue 20-Jul-21 11:45:51

We have military personnel in the family. I am sure they will be very keen to read about Harry's time in the army. I'm guessing that chapter might be the only interesting bit.
