If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck etc ?
Farage fails to report 5 million gift!
Just seen Harry has written a tell it all book, well with a ghost writer anyway. What on earth is left to say? From what I understand it’s his life from his viewpoint along with lessons for us all. I’m beginning to feel sorry for the rest of the RF. where is it going to end.
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck etc ?
Exactly Fanny. I completely agree with your last few posts. We think alike.
I think he is a man who has found this place in the world and a woman that loves him. I think he is not afraid to behave in a way that makes over-fifties (ish) in the UK think he's a buffoon and a fool.
I think he and his wife are making untold millions and people hate that. I think M&H don't give a t***
I think the RF love the publicity that they are the wounded parties. I think that the Queen probably still loves her grandson and doesn't think he's betrayed her in the slightest.
I think people like bread and circuses.
I think I'll go and do the hoovering.
I agree they don’t give a t* who they hurt , they are making money and are on the world stage, it’s what celebrities do.
But Alegrias do you see it as something to be proud of to sell your family - who still love you - down the river? Surely all these gripes should have been sorted out between the parties concerned in private, not sold to the highest bidder.
I think it weird that your opinion is that - to quote you - "he is not afraid to behave in a way that makes over-fifties (ish) in the UK think he's a buffoon and a fool."
Forward 20 years, “How My Parents Ruined My Life”
A tell all book by Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. An inside true life story of the pressures …
You don't know he's a buffoon. You don't know he's a complete fool. That's your opinion. The papers tell you he is, you see somebody who doesn't fit the template of a good Royal husband and you think he's a drip.
I’d made up my mind about him after he was so very easily taken in by Russian pranksters pretending to be Greta Thunberg and her father.
What a plonker!
Royals are allowed to get away with State sponcered corruption In public office for private gain. Queen has a say in laws that affect her private interests, well handy. And can lobby ministers. Doesn't do anything for our constitution.
I wonder what people's reaction will be when they see billboards about the monarchy going up around the country?
Will make people think so the Royals spend public money day in day out week in week out without any thought for the public purse? Why do we allow this?
Glad Harry may spill the beans People need to realise monarchy is no good for this country.

Many people behave far worse and we only care about this family because Granny is the Queen. He hasn;t murdered anybody, neither has Meghan.
Results of the survey (quoted elsewhere) about his popularity:
People born between 1946 and 1964: Harry's popularity 12%
Everyone on the survey: Harry's popularity 31%
In the US: 51%
And please don't come out with the "its only a survey" nonsense because nobody tried that when it was being used to show Harry was less popular than Uncle Andrew.
Alegrias The analogy that other people have done far worse doesn't work. Ok, so someone isn't Hitler, therefore their actions and behaviour are fine.... no way!
Merlot I'd forgotten the Russian pranksters episode!
Godwin's Law. You lose.

How about the queen had a layer intervention in a new transparency law to hide her embarrassing wealth Lots of it from investments in the slave trade passed on wealth. How about the queen is allowed see laws that affect her private interests and have a say and lobbies ministers so does Charles. And Royals spending public money freely every day of every week.
What good does that do for the public. She is pointless and powerless has no role to play in our constitution
Is everyone happy with this ? Isn't it about time people were made aware that our Head of State and all her family too are costing us a fortune and we get very little in return.

Aah, but I won the argument on logic.
I don't think that word means what you think it does.
People do far worse, and write books about it, but don't have a regular slot on the GN hate figure of the week discussion.
Catherine Bennett has written a great piece in today’s Observer.

I didn’t realise the meaning of ‘logic’ is ‘invoking the spirit of Adolf Hitler’. Gransnet is most educational.

In an answer to your post Grany at 12.02 - in the context of Harry he is only spilling the beans because he has been pushed out of the trough.
Haven’t seen any billboards where I live Grany, I’m pleased to say.
And it’s good that his popularity is 51% in the USA, as that is where he has chosen to make his life.

You won't Calendargirl they don't go up till tomorrow ?
I’ll keep a close eye out for them Grany. I seem to have been reading your posts about them for quite a while, and assumed, wrongly, that they were already in position.
Grany is obsessed with getting rid of the monarchy and has hi-jacked this thread to promote her cause.....as if we hadn't had enough of it on the other thread! ?
This is not a political thread, it is about Harry's book.

I have mentioned Harry on this thread, spilling the beans. But no one has read the book yet so how can you comment on it?
I mentioned the Royals as there is lots hidden, that should come out into the open, we are not allowed to know, secretive above the law unaccountable, this could, should change when the book is written.
Will be interesting to read as it's written by a well respected writer.
Would it be a good idea to start threads about the abolition of the monarchy on a news and politics forum, Grany, instead of posting on every thread about the Royal family?
Your posts may well be lost or ignored on these other threads which are generally under Chat.
FannyCornforth “ I know that you don’t agree with me Lucca and Alegrias, and I honestly do value your opinions and wisdom, but the man is an utter buffoon. A complete fool”
He may well be, I don’t dispute that opinion, but I do object to catty comments about every single thing Meghan does (including starring in a Netflix series, just an acting job after all - not a crime) and how wrong Meghan was to smile/grin/beam etc during her walk down the aisle in a magical setting with beautiful music.
