Prince Harry’s Memoirs, should he or shouldn’t he

I know it is another Harry thread but …………

I am very sad to read that Prince Harry is going to write his memoirs, I suspect Meghan is behind the idea. I really don’t think he should, to me it feels as though he is constantly broadsiding the Royal family. We all have family difficulties but no good comes of putting it out there for everyone. He should just quietly get on with his life with his family and stop having a go. Anyway, are we really interested? I certainly won’t buy his book.

Ooooo! You've done it now Lincslass I hope you have a tin hat ready?

No need . The anti Meghan brigade are the vast majority.
One thing though….if I for example criticise the actions of the PM it’s “Boris bashing” But all the critics of M and H are just saying “how disappointed they are and giving valid criticisms.”

Interesting.
I rarely bother to read the political threads anymore because they are dominated by the same few posters expressing the same predictable views. These don't don't trouble me unduly as they are entitled to express their views as I am to mine; I simply don't participate.

One has to wonder what it is that draws you immediately to any thread concerning Harry and Meghan, deriding the posters and attempting to derail the thread, whilst affecting to despise the whole concept of royalty.

Because it's a free country?

Sparklefizz Wed 21-Jul-21 08:54:18

Is the book coming out next year in order to distract from the Queen's 70th Jubilee?

Smileless2012 Wed 21-Jul-21 09:19:25

It's a distinct possibility Sparklefizz and it's being suggested that the Queen will withdraw her invitation to H & M to attend her Platinum Jubilee celebrations which would have included them appearing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

I hope she does.

Lucca Wed 21-Jul-21 09:37:23

“One has to wonder what it is that draws you immediately to any thread concerning Harry and Meghan,”

One does, does one ? Well it is a royal thread I suppose

Alegrias1….exactly.

The problem is Harry lies, his lies feed republicans with reasons to abolish the monarchy.

He has always been protected and spoilt. We keep hearing how
he enjoyed being in the army, in the army he was still protected, even had his own Gurkha guards .

This was a man who loved shooting, polo, fishing, army life, but now poses for ghastly photographs in a garden.

His father and brother must be so fearful for him, Diana was a
loose cannon when she left the family, at the time of her death
she wasn’t speaking to the royal family or her blood family,
Harry is on the same road.

His book will be no different to Diana’s Panorama interview,
all about his suffering!

Alegrias1 Wed 21-Jul-21 09:50:55

Oh, I didn't need Harry to give me reasons to abolish the monarchy smile

It's still sad. So much pain, seemingly reinforced.
There are no winners here.
I just don't understand it.

I can see your point.
My perspective on what you say is that Boris, and Harry and Meghan are two different subjects.

I get the comparison though.

Unfortunately I can honestly say that I am disappointed in their behaviour.

Clearly there will be no end to this, especially as the couple keep up the pressure in the media.

So for as long as they stay in the public eye, there will be controversy.

Anniebach Wed 21-Jul-21 10:44:21

NotSpaghettie there is a winner, Meg. No matter what happens to Harry she is now a big celebrity in her own country.

^Why are you assuming the wife is behind it?^

Probably because all this only surfaced after he met Meghan, and escalated after his marriage. Like many others before him, he has seen things differently through his partner’s eyes.

Whether all that’s for the best is another matter.

I think this is a fair statement. I don't think it follows that it's because she has manipulated him. We do not know these people. We can only guess or assume. We don't even know the details of the lives of people we do know often.

It is true that meeting another person can change perspectives. Like you, I don't know if it is for the better or not. The only thing is that I hope Harry is getting personal support or therapy as it seems he is carrying a lot of pain and hurt. I hope he can find peace with his little family and be happy. Meghan too.

Yes, I wondered that.
I have stayed off this thread thinking it might be me who in some ways caused arguments about H & M and thread derailing in the past.
There have been some new contributors since news of the book came out and unsurprisingly the majority are not H & M supporters. Their comments are insightful and pretty much follow the same theme.
Then along come the usual protestors who bring the thread into disarray by not actually adding much of interest, just by deriding other posters. I think I'll head back to the funny H & M post and have some laughs.

Alegrias1 Wed 21-Jul-21 10:53:27

On a serious note....

To answer the OP, I don't know if Harry should write his memoirs or not, I certainly won't be buying it and I've got no interest in it.

But I am mystified by the knee-jerk reaction that everything is the fault of that woman and she's corrupted our lovely prince. None of us know what's going on, and I do think that there is a lot of projection going on; we think we know how we would feel in certain situations and so we blame the person we think would make us feel that way.

My cod-psychology for today.... smile

Alegrias1 Wed 21-Jul-21 11:01:48

To add to Ellianne's post....

Is it a laugh to compare a woman with MH difficulties to the devil's agent?

I reserve the right to deride posters who accuse people of financial fraud and of being sex-workers just because they don't like them.

Anniebach Wed 21-Jul-21 11:05:22

So which is the real Harry ? The Harry who loved S.A. and
Sentabale. Who set up The Invictus Games, who had a good sense of humour, who loved country sports, was very close to his family.

The Harry who constantly talks of Harry, and has cut his family out of his life , who saves homeless chickens.

Alegrias1 Wed 21-Jul-21 11:07:24

Well we don't know, do we Annie?

Ellianne Wed 21-Jul-21 11:08:39

I have never once commented on MH difficulties on any thread as fortunately I have never experienced these and am no expert on the subject. In terms of comparing with literary references I see no problem. I have been called Pollyanna on here and another less flattering character so it works both ways.
Anyway, I don't want to stoop to engaging in the very behaviour that details a thread here.

Alegrias1 Wed 21-Jul-21 11:10:38

I am suitable chastened.

Everybody can get back to their libel now.

Namsnanny Wed 21-Jul-21 12:28:53

Whilst annoying I guess it's best to not fan the flames Ellianne.

If only to keep the thread open.

I think you've hit on a valid point there Anniebach.
He seems in retrospect to be a bit of a chameleon.
He seems to be totally consumed by an idea, commits to it come what may.
Then drops it like a hot stone.

Elton John's husband David Furnish is working on Pearl, the latest project from Meghan who accepts lifts in the private jet of Amal Clooney whose husband George is making a film about difficult father-son relationships based on memoirs of JM Moehringer who ghostwrites for a living and is working on the memoirs of the vengeful, disloyal and very stupid Harry.

Cosy, isn't it.

this is a person who, as a CHILD, was expected to go out and talk to the crowds who came to lay flowers for his mother and then was coerced into walking behind her coffin. I feel truly sorry for the Queen and for his brother but as for the rest and the "organisation" they will get what is coming to them.

Next year? That’s disappointing! I thought I had 2021 Christmas present shopping list for everyone sorted! grin

greenlady We don't know he was coerced. He may have been asked and wanted to join the men. If he hadn't gone along, he may well have been complaining now that he wasn't allowed to.

In actual fact, the Queen and RF wanted to keep William and Harry at Balmoral and away from all the razzmatazz, but it was only Tony Blair and the Great British Public who wanted them to come back to London. The Queen bowed to pressure.

As you are acting as judge and jury and saying "they will get what is coming to them", maybe we, as the public, will get what is coming to us !
