I'm the same as you seacliff. While others are quaffing wine or G and Ts, I drink water. I expect people can tell the difference between different sorts of wine, so I don't understand why they expect any different of water.

I nearly always use filtered water, which I drink with ice made from filtered water, but I also have bottled water in the fridge. It tastes better and doesn't fur up my kettle.

I must tell the four-legged creatures who share my house that they can't be cats because somebody says that cats eat if they're hungry. I've ended up giving cat food away because I've bought alternatives which they they just won't eat.

A good chilled sparkling water does taste different to tap water. It’s a choice whether to buy it or not same as any other non-tap water, non -essential, drink.
Some people being unnecessarily reverse snobbish about it.

Have not found any real problems, Aldi staff bringing loaded pallets onto shopfloor to put on shelves, am flexible in what I eat, if it’s not there I go without, and don’t think about it. No animals to feed, and no requirements for bottled water, usually add small amount of squash to tap water to drink.

Our local antiques emporium sells all sorts. Including old soaps, and make up. Lots of the original Avon last time I went. Will have to look out for the M & S next time, although I fear it will be past its best. I agree Fanny, I love the art work on old adverts and packaging. Good enough to frame and display.

I am wrong, correct first time! Oh the embarrassment and humiliation! I blame my brain fog, it's awful this morning.
Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I have had pampered cats who were indeed fussy about their food .
However I suspect they will eat anything if they are really hungry.
The reason that I say this is because I work for a large food bank and we feed dozens of pets a week along with their owners . Some of our clients request or decline specific food items / brands for themselves , but I have heard of such requests for their pets .
The request is simply ‘wet’ or ‘dry’ . I’m guessing that they will eat anything they are given .

I can never understand the need for people to be unkind to other posters. As I have said before on GN, Walk a day in my shoes!. We do not know what is happening in a poster's life nor their circumstances and the effect of sneering remarks on their wellbeing.

I'm still suffering from the effects of a poster's, unfair remarks and public unkindness towards me, weeks ago. So much so that I only post rarely now.
You have to accept that you are fair game on the politics thread, but not on threads like this one.

Well, when I started a post about Tesco stopping tray liners, someone posted, about me.

Recently I decided, for the sake of completeness, to update the thread with information about what happened when tray liners were stopped.

I read back and although I had remembered content I had not remembered who had posted what and who had reported me.

I was amazed, as I found people who I have since got to know in other threads as very kind pleasant people.

Flagged as out of stock at present, but they were £4 each. I used to get a few every now and then.

Although they are advertised as for four possible uses, there is a fifth use, namely to store something safely. So, for example, if one gets invited to a wedding, one may keep the invitation rather than discarding it, so framing it in one of these and then putting it away in a drawer is better than just keeping it.

When I get a greetings card, such as what is known as a 'blank card' where the front has a picture but no wording, I often frame it and so it becomes an art object in my collection rather than just being in an envelope. I often put the envelope in the back, so that although it is not visible, it is conserved along with the card.

They could also be used as a way to conserve a piece of cloth or whatever.

Although sold as A4 certificate frames, I have not yet used any of them for an A4 item. I have used them for A5 cards and for 7 inch by 5 inch cards.

The only thing is I needed a pair of pointed nosse pliers to use them.

Fortunately I had got one of these, just in case something came up, such as a door knob coming loose and wanting a screwdriver.

Tesco used to do some rather nice oak effect frames, but alas seem to have stopped them now.

Though I have pictures, greetings cards, in three of them on walls in my home.

I agree re water btw. Where we holiday in Wales, the water tastes very different and I buy bottled water when we are there

I have just read the rest of the thread my dog can only eat one particular brand of dog food too!

I get a bit fed up of the sniping. People with certain health conditions can have very limited diets and choices about what they can and can't eat. We are quite lucky that our daughter who has a disability only has issues with lactose but when she was young she had issues with all sorts of foods because of her autism. Luckily we had a good enough paediatrician and health service to be able to access specialist dietician services via early intervention (not available everywhere at all) and she eats a reallt varied diet but this isn't the case for a lot of people with autism. What some of you may see as first world problems is a really day to day problems for others.

No empty shelves in M&S and Waitrose at the weekend.

Earlier I received a text & receipt for today's Ocado delivery - all hunky dory as no missing items; just received a text to say it will be at least 2 hours late!

Last week Ocado cancelled the whole delivery due to a fire and today's problem is down to IT problems. Oh, well worse things happen at sea.

Riverwalk, I don't know where you are but there has been a fire at one of their warehouses in Kent. Our deliveries come out of Hatfield (so not Kent) but are still affected as they are having to take on some of their services, from what I understand

It doesn’t seem to matter how much you buy in HB, the bill never seems to come to more than £20. ?

Sue, when I was working, one opened near my school. Our staff were never out of it!
I took DH. We ended up spending £99 and needed two trollies. I got rather carried away!

Last year, when I had a persistent cough (pre-Civil so it couldn't have been Covid ) I bought some excellent cough pastilles from Home Bargains for 99p.
When I went to buy more in Boots the same size pack was £5
