The odd way we see things

I dream in colour. I used to dream up some wonderful apple green dresses.
As a child left and right used to confuse me!! At grandma’s house, Mrs Painter was on my right side if I was looking out of the front door but if I was looking out of the back door she was on my left. ??

I don't think about or see colours every time a name is mentioned. It's really only when the subject of associating names and colours comes up that I put my mind to it. I seem to remember it happening more when I was much younger.

Juliet and others who have/had trouble with left/right - hold both hands up palms away from you, put your 4 fingers vertical and your thumb horizontal. The left hand spells the letter L, voila.

Now just to confirm I am completely doolally ? if I am emptying a tin of say baked beans into a saucepan I can’t leave any behind as they will have lost their baked bean friends. Peas and other food stuffs take on a living form too.

I must go because there are some men in white coats approaching the front door!!

Cherrytree59 I can’t believe you said that! I experience this too most night when I close my eyes can see very clearly in my minds eye faces appearing zooming in then fading out exactly like a negative and glowy

When I close my eyes at night, I don't see any images, but I quite often see a very vivid turquoise/blue/green shape, which gradually fades away.

I definitely dream in colour sometimes, but not very often.

OMG I am the same with baked beans but for a different reason - I feel that they have been grown, processed and tinned and if I leave one behind it was all for nothing. Can I still join please?
Also I detest flies but I recently ignored one buzzing around the inside of my window and the next day it was dead on the window cill. I felt so guilty that I hadn't let it out and it had died because of me.
There's no hope for me, is there?

NanKate - I am a nutter too ! If I drop a piece of , say , carrot on the floor I have to wash it and put it in the pan as it would be cruel to put it in the bin when all its "friends" are cooking ! I thought I was the only one ! Same with leaving a bean in a tin - can't do it. They're coming to take me away !!

I can’t kill anything at all. If I accidentally drown a little insect in the bath for instance, I feel that I’m going to have a bad day. I’m really superstitious about it.
I also have to rescue worms when I see them on the pavement when it rains.

I do not see numbers or names in colour but my eldest GD has synaesthesia.
I thought at first that it was her artistic streak when she mentioned numerous colours but then we realised she saw names and numbers as colours.

The Beethoven clip cheered me up no end. I also don't like things to be on their own and with all the digital displays I have to have even numbers, when I'm in the car I have to have the air con or heater on an even number and both driver and passenger numbers have to be the same - bit of OCD I think.
