Soop, I'm sure you have considered sending copies of your letter and an account of your mistreatment at the hands of the hospitals' admin to your local MSP. The cabinet member for health in Scotland ought to know what is going on. I know that the health services in all our countries are snowed under with a backlog of cases owing to Covid, but your series of buggerations has been ongoing since before Covid appeared on the horizon. I think you are a very special case. You need someone with some kind of influence to rant on your behalf.

Soop just hoping that something can be done to help you soon, like Jax has already said maybe your GP or previous consultant can help get you the appointment that was originally promised.
I’ve had a lovely but busy day today entertaining two DGS whilst DD1 and SiL were both working. We’ve been to the park, the cinema and had lunch out. Tomorrow the eldest age 6 is back at school so just the youngest to look after - should be a doddle compared to today!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening

So pleased at your news GrandmaB, you must feel so relieved.
Soop, beautiful smiley baby girl. As for your other, Big problem, the surgery at Muasdale seems to be a good one, won`t they stick their oar in and fight for you?
I`ve just heard 2 satisfactory cracks from the electric fly zapper in the corner, so its earning it`s keep.

kitty sorry to hear your brothers op has been delayed again. 12 weeks is a long time to be in hospital. Hope he is bearing up ok. Are you allowed to visit?

Hello Soop and all kitcheners. Soop have you approached CAB regarding your medical situation? In Scotland they run a service called PASS (not sure what English/Welsh version is called) which is highly thought of and taken seriously by the NHS. The PASS adviser will take your details (try to have a timeline of events in front of you when you contact them) and ask you what outcome you are looking for. Most people don't want to complain/receive compensation but want to make sure their experience does not happen to anyone else. The PASS adviser takes on your case and deals with the NHS trust/GP directly. It gives you some space to step back. Apologies I am not sure of your full story. CAB are open via phone /email. You could explore your options. There is a PASS national helpline I believe. If you have been given this information already I am sorry. It might be an option worth considering. Wishing everyone a kind day.

SOOP, perhaps you could introduce the medical people to the internet people and let them fight it out in a locked room!!!!!

Good morning lovely Kitcheners. My knee is feeling a little less sore and the swelling is receding. Hope Imogen had a lovely birthday Jax, she is such a brave and determined soul.

We have had a new mattress delivered this morning so hoping this may ease some aches and pains. The old one had developed several ‘hills and valleys’ so was overdue for replacement. This always causes a few ‘robust discussions’ as Mr. B is much heavier than I and doesn’t find himself rolling out of bed grin. Looking forward to a good night’s sleep tonight. Another trip to the pharmacy this afternoon as the promised tablets still hadn’t arrived yesterday. They assure me they’ll definitely be there today!

TOYA

A good late afternoon to the best bunch of Granspals on the planet.

Thank you for so many kind words and thoughtful suggestions. When we return to a normal routine, I may follow your advice.

Grandmafrench has forwarded a very informative website relating to my problem.
I have asked her to consider joining us again in the kitchen. She has always been very supportive to Kitcheners in need of advice.

I've had my hair washed and set. Now, all I need to do is "mess it up". grin By this time tomorrow it should look suitably natural and un-coiffed.

I am making last minute changes to what I shall take, or not...decisions decisions.

A migrane coming on. Jagged lines flickering before my very eyes. I shall therefore send my love to every one of our lovely lot. Continue to be kind to each other. I shall be thinking of you over the weekend.

flowers sunshine moon and (hugs) in abundance.

Grandmabatty Thu 02-Sept-21 17:44:10

Hugs right back at ya Soop. Have a restful time. Migraines are awful. ?

Just popping in to say hello after spending lovely day with my beautiful grandchildren - as are everyone's ?. Soop - I really think you should raise a complaint about your poor treatment. I had an an issue with my GP practice just after I had just been discharged from hospital after almost losing my life to sepsis. We sent the practice manager an email mentioning the CQC might be interested in what had happened. Nice and no threat - just mentioning the name and before the end of the day I had one of the senior partners paying me a home visit. I've just checked and it looks like it's the Care Inspectorate (CI) in Scotland. Now rest with that migraine. Hope everyone else has a pleasant evening

Urmstongran Thu 02-Sept-21 19:13:19

‘Evening All’.

Another sun-filled, book reading, pool dipping day here in Malaga. The temperatures have dropped to the high 20’s without the fierce sun of July & August and the humidity has lessened. September is my favourite month out here.

We’ve showered, about to eat then at 9pm (in an hour - we’re ahead) we will go down to Juan’s and share a bottle of Ribera del Duero. A perfect end to a thoroughly relaxed day.

My new book on the Kindle is very readable. ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ by Sarah Vaughan. Apparently it is being made into a Netflix film. The author used to write for the Guardian and it’s court room/politics/‘me too’ based. I like a complete change of genre to keep me engaged.

Till tomorrow everyone.
Hi Doodle ?

It’s been a good day for me. First the mattress was delivered at the promised time, I was impressed the way the guy lifted it out of the van like it weighed nothing and carried it to the house! I struggle lifting the corner to tuck the sheet in grin. After lunch we went to the pharmacy and my missing meds had turned up! Once home, after a grey start to the day the sun came out, so was able to spend some time in the garden watching Mr. B working. I feel quite tired now, hoping the new mattress will ensure a good sleep. Goodnight lovely Kitcheners. Sleep tight ?

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Sept-21 19:35:50

Had a slight soop day today, no internet! The south of England have had problems all day, particularly Sky. I had a voluntary drive to do, all the information online, on the spreadsheet, eventually resolved, I’ll be writing it all down from now on.
Thank you Blossoming, Imogen had a lovely day, she was here this morning as daughter and Finley back to school, dropped her at her Dad’s, picked here up again at 2:30. Hope your tablets were in.
Dropped an ordered Pinch of Nom book to my friend who’s been poorly, she has to eat low fat until her gall bladder is removed.
Call from my bank, querying a payment, quite rightly too.
kitty sorry, I missed the fact you’re brother’s op has been delayed, not good enough, I’d be fussing.
Dear soop hopefully a brief migraine, not fair when you have your special weekend looming, recover soon.
Urms gosh, I think we could all do with some sun and warmth, we’ve had days of cloud and grey, not inspiring! I’m sure you’re both loving it, I really enjoy your reports ??
Time for a spot of football, thinking of Rufus.
Pleasant evening all, take care x

Doodle Thu 02-Sept-21 20:36:41

Hi Urms ? I’m not at all jealous of your sunshine and pool ?. Don’t drink too much Ribena! ?
soop hope that migraine goes away quickly. Have a lovely trip.
TOYA ?

brook2704 Thu 02-Sept-21 20:52:04

A lovely day today with youngest DGS, his highlight of the day was a trip on a double decker bus - my highlight was sitting in the botanical gardens with a very well behaved DGS, a coffee and a chocolate brownie!
I think the sunshine and warmer weather is coming soon - thanks to Urms for sending it over ?
Hope there’s no more internet problems Jax
Sleep well everyone, especially Blossoming on your new mattress!

Lizzie72 Thu 02-Sept-21 22:08:16

I hope GrandmaFrench listens to you, Soop and begins to post again - I always liked her posts.
I hope your migraine has gone, Soop and that you have a lovely family time.
Yes, a mini heatwave promised for next week!

Urmstongran Thu 02-Sept-21 22:28:05

Back home. Thanks Jax and Doodle. It’s nice to know my posts are enjoyed and that I’m not coming across as smug with all this Spanish sunshine. I would hate that!

Yiayia4 Fri 03-Sept-21 16:28:11

The sun is out thank you Urms for sending it. Our last few days here and have just had lunch at Portland Marina, funny how we are always near the sea and boats or harbours!!
Enjoy your Friday everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-Sept-21 17:06:32

Just a quick hello, we have had The Imp all day and he has lived up to his name ? Picked up his brother from school, DD is now home no they are enjoying a takeaway pizza.

DH and I are going to our son and DiL’s to babysit GD and GS (aged 4&2) in half an hour so they can go out for a quiet meal, tomorrow I shall be doing as little as possible ?

MawBe Fri 03-Sept-21 17:13:46

I must have missed you in the past Lizzie72 but welcome to the Kitchen - as I am sure others have said already.
(If you are not a newcomer I apologise , so many names these days to keep track of) smile

Lizzie72 Fri 03-Sept-21 17:20:11

Aw, thank you, MawBe - I’ve been reading a few threads for a while, but haven’t posted much. But everyone is so friendly!

brook2704 Fri 03-Sept-21 17:31:55

It’s been a lovely sunny day in Cambridge too so we’ve made the most of the weather and been out to the park with a picnic. I’m also babysitting tonight GG13 whilst DD1 and SiL go out for a well deserved break
A welcome also from me Lizzie I hope you enjoy the kitchen and please bring cake! ?

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Sept-21 17:36:37

Hi kitcheners. Hello Lizzie. The boy wonder went into playgroup without tears today. A success! He has another cold though which was bound to happen as he's mixing with other children. I had a visit to the chiropodist this morning and I've been stitching this afternoon. My new neighbours have been busy clearing out the house. I haven't actually spoken to them yet but I've been assured that they are lovely. Today has been on the cold side and I finally put the heating on. I hope Soop is having a lovely time with family. Grannygravy I take my hat off to you. You have the gold star for babysitting today! Urmstongran I love your posts from Malaga. I've been to that restaurant in Fuengirola. It's so nice. We were supposed to be going back next year but it's on hold just now. Yiayia enjoy the water. I miss the coast. Pie, chips and beans for tea. Have a lovely evening all.

TillyTrotter Fri 03-Sept-21 17:38:53

Hello to all in the kitchen. Hurrah, the sun has broken through several times this afternoon and the hint of more to come next week is reason for excitement. ☀️
The weekend is here and I wish everyone a good one.
I’m still washing and ironing after a few days away but it will come to an end. ? ?
Welcome Lizzie72. ?

Callistemon Fri 03-Sept-21 17:46:06

Hello everyone ? and to any new posters

Not at all, Urmstongran!
The sun came out late afternoon here and I hope it heralds a few days more of summer - too soon to pack the sandals away just yet. Please keep sending us more.

It's been rather a peculiar one here, nothing going to plan but the car is now in the garage for repair and we await an estimate hmm
Did anyone bring ? - I'm in need of a sugar boost
