I,too, will miss Grandmafrench, but I've messaged her and completely understand why she's pulling away. This thread is one of the few I contribute to now as the site has changed and I don't think it's as friendly as it was when I joined a mere 3 years ago!

WELCOME to our very own kitchen in which we celebrate happy occasions and support each other through the difficult times.

Good evening dear kitcheners. GrandmaFrench won't you please reconsider?? You will be SO missed ? ?. Thank you for saving me a glass of wine - wedding and mother dramas (or tantrums??) sometimes become a little too much!! Tilly is it salad on the menu at your house tonight with those fine looking specimens? Firecracker chicken and noodles here tonight - another lovely simply cook recipe create lovingly by Mr BAs own fair hands ?. Hope you all have a very pleasant evening and gentle hugs sent to everyone in need of a little comfort ?
I am so sorry to read Grandmafrench is leaving GN. I have so enjoyed reading her posts - a lovely lady who will be sadly missed, please reconsider.
Please take a break rather than retire from GN Grandmafrench. You enrich the site with your warm-hearted, kind and caring posts which I, like many others, enjoy reading. I have missed you.
A warm welcome to Mandy48 and Grandmajean and any one that I may have failed to welcome to our kitchen.
One last call to Grandmafrench, please reconsider.
I shall away for today. I trust that you will all continue to take care of yourselves. Until we meet again

Hope you don’t wait long for an appointment soop, I am very sorry to hear GrandmaFrench may be leaving, she has always been warm and caring and such a positive presence in here. It’s really hot here so I’ve given up pretending to do housework! I have got a few things done but I need to sit here in the breeze with a long cool glass of water. Mr. B is taking me out tomorrow as it’s forecast to be even hotter.
Hello.have never posted on this thread as really don't totally understand it ( only been on Gransnet a few months ) I just wanted to add my twopence worth re Grandmafrench A lovely very caring and entertaining Gransnetter. Please don't let unpleasant people chase you off.
I like to read this thread, though I don’t post. Another one who enjoys reading Grandmafrench’ tales. sitting under the bouganvillea - oh, those lovely long ago French holidays
. Please reconsider, Grandmafrench
I hope you get your appointment soon soop. I am waiting for a Dexa scan and been told it could be two years.
I too am sad to hear GrandmaFrench will not be posting.she is one of the kindest most caring members of GN.
I am still worried about my DiL who has palsy in her face possibly caused by the vaccine.
Not much going on here and I am very envious of your lovely weather. It is cold and grizzly here!
Hello everyone. I agree with what has been said that if our Grandmafrench stops posting Gransnet will be the poorer for it. She is a caring lady and has a lovely way with words. I certainly enjoy her posts.
Muse is there room on your hammock for a little one please? I would love to have 2 trees strong enough to hang one in.
Your tomatoes will ripen Grandmabatty put them high enough that little fingers can’t interfere with them as they will take their time to be come red and juicy.
Here are some monster salad onions and radishes - not grown by my hands but given to me today.
Thinking of you all.
Whizzed in for a read, hadn’t intended to post but just want to say I think it’s a real shame if anyone feels they can no longer post on GN. If you’re reading grandmafrench good wishes coming your way.
The fruits of my labours! My very first greenhouse grown from seed tomatoes. Next year will be bounteous. I've had to pick them early as something was beginning to nibble at them. Soop it has been a stunning day here too. Very still, hot and sunny. Mum wasn't too bad and we chatted about her latest enjoyment-Inspector Montalbano on bbc4. Then I visited my oldest pal and two hours later we had put the world to rights again. I've just had a delivery of a Christmas gift for the boy wonder. I'm getting organised. I was out in the garden but it's far too hot for me so I'm working on a cross stitch. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.
Afternoon dear Kitcheners. So good to hear from you annesixty.
Hope your Dh gets rid of that infection Muse.
Let’s hope you get your appointment very soon Soop.
I’m having my joint injections early next month,I’m hopeful they will keep me going till I get replacements.
The caravan is loaded up ready to go tomorrow and we’re having a takeaway with the family later.A celebration for 3 birthdays, DH,DS and eldest GS.??August is a very expensive month in our family!!
That such a shame if Grandmafrench has left us we all love reading her posts here,I do hope she will reconsider.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone hope to post from Glastonbury tomorrow.
So very sad if Grandmafrench has left us. Her slice of life from the south of France was life enhancing and a window on the world for those of us who don’t get very far these days. Can’t understand why anyone would choose to be unpleasant on such a forum - they are the ones who should be leaving.
Sweetie Pie (feral pussy cat) stayed overnight in her chalet. She has had three brunches and as the birds have seen her stroll away into the forest, the feeders are busy and there is much tweeting going on.
I had a call from colo-rectal consultant two evenings ago. This came about thanks to the GP chasing matters up a wee bit. I shall need to attend a clinic in Glasgow's Royal Infirmary and am now awaiting an appointment.
It is a glorious day in sunny Kintyre. The sea is mirror-calm. I have vowed not to get all messed up in the garden today. My arms and legs are covered in scratches and bruises.
Good afternoon, annsixty, it's a treat to have you here in the kitchen.
muse Hearing that Mr M has another infection is a buggeration too far. Get him "seen to" pretty darn quick. A (hug) for him from me.
I have heard from Grandmafrench. I am sad and sorry to hear that she may be "retiring" from Gransnet. I do not know the whys and wherefores in detail, other than she feels that she doesn't wish to continue. She has her reasons. I respect her decision. BUT, I wish that she might reconsider. She has contributed in a warm hearted fashion with us lot in the kitchen. Should she decide to stay.........HOORAH!
Nannytopsy It's a deal. I shall make an appointment.
Dogsmakemesmile Us lot are happy that you found us.
Jax My sympathies are with your friend in hospital.
Doodle Blossoming BladeAnnie brook Let's find a qiet corner and share the goodies that are waiting on the table. I bags a warm croissant with lots of real butter and homemade marmalade.
muse please will you call for my rubbish ,it’s not much out of your way.?
I have to resort to hiring a skip every few months, the last one, 2 months ago, cost me £216 but it was pretty full when it was collected.
Good morning lovely Kitcheners
. It’s a beautiful day here and everything is looking so green and fresh. There are berries on the rowan trees, I love the way the light softens as we move into Autumn. Your poor OH Muse he is having a rough time. I hope you get to relax in your hammock after a busy morning, be careful with all the lifting at the dump.
Good morning all from a very infrequent poster but very regular reader.
I was up at the crack of dawn today so I am not still in nightwear and racing round to get jobs done, that is actually totally untrue, to refer to another thread I am something of a slut theses days, not loose just lazy
Two weeks ago I had decorators in to do my rather large lounge.
It took 4 days and I was stressed out by the end, I had to be up early and had nowhere to relax or “kip” after lunch.
As usual one job creates more , I have had new radiators fitted today and am waiting for a quote for a new gas fire.
Also waiting for hall, stairs and landing to be done but the decorators are very busy.
No curtains chosen yet either.
I seldom leave the house so my money is going on the home.
Sorry to hear of poorly kitcheners, children and grandchildren.
We never lose that ability to fret do we?
Weather neither good nor bad today, just quiet, autumn is round the corner.
I hope you all have the best day you can, tomorrow is another day.
Thank you muse, hope this infection gets clobbered early. There is autumn in the air Dogsmakemesmile, cars had condensation on them this morning and lots of cobwebs outside, pretty. I must water today, we’ve had no sustained rain for a while. It’s my voluntary day on the phone, last week it was very quiet.
Have a good day all.
? Apologies for my errors - must learn how to do preview message.?
Good Morning from such a sunny Cornwall. My hammock is out and hope to let into this afternoon unless MrM gets there first. He was suffering last night after his dressing change. Another 'infection' has come to the surface. (3 now). Immediate treatment will hopefully curtail it as it.
Hopefully the engineer will be able to repair the light in the fridge today. I've sourced a local one as Bosch wanted £100 for the call out. It's a new fangled LED light. Oh for a screw in bulb.
My car is loaded up for the dump run and I will find some non bending gardening to do on my return.
soop Just got to decorate the horlicks cake I made yesterday. Need a bag of malteasers. I'll drop the cake off (not on the floor though Grandmafrench) later. Hoping Urmston will call in this evening to celebrate her return. There's wine too BladeAnnie.
Pleased about your friend Jax.
See you all later ?
I'm off to visit mum then go to friends for a coffee. Brisket in gravy with potatoes for dinner and the last of the butternut squash and sweet potato soup for lunch. The Boy Wonder seems to be better today but dd is keeping him off playgroup til Friday. Enjoy your Wednesday all.
Morning everyone. Hope people slept well. Have just made dough and contemplating soup to go with the rolls for lunch. Maybe minestrone. A relaxing day planned. Autumnal here. Crisp and a slight chill. Beautiful. Wishing all kitcheners a good day. Lovely to hear of your plans.
