Good Morning all from a dull and, dare I say, almost autumnal Scottish Borders.

It's my birthday and I am determined to enjoy it despite it being my first ever on my own. Hair appointment and a trip into town is planned.
There's a large box of chocolates brought by DS1 if all else fails.
Ash you seem to have taken the plunge and booked your ticket. Well done.
Condolences to Susan and her family. Such a sad time.
Also to Dragonfly virtual hugs.
To dear brave Phoenix and her family. flowers
Have as good a day as you can everyone whatever the day brings.
I love the pictures Mawbe !

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a grey South Yorkshire. It rained heavily late yesterday afternoon. We have a trip out to the bank today - hoping it is open, as we were assured it would be; hit and miss these days - and then to have a cup of tea with my niece. We had a pub lunch with DD et al yesterday, then a walk around the park before settling into their garden with coffee.
Susan I’m sorry for your loss and wish you safe travels today.?
A hug for all who need it today.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 16-Aug-21 08:00:36

Good morning from East Yorkshire where it is overcast (has been since we arrived home at the weekend) and is a nip in the air.
My condolences to Susan56 and * dragonfly * on your sad news. ?
Ashcombe I’m glad you have a date to work towards in the long awaited reunion. You will be counting down the days.
Thanks to Georgesgran on the info whilst we were in Durham. You were so right on the views of the cathedral and what an amazing building. We went inside whilst we were there. We were amazed at what a vibrant city it is with many independant cafes/restaurants/shops compared to home and we got a friendly welcome everywhere we went. We underestimated how much there is to see in the area so a return visit is in the cards.
Being a newcomer I don’t know of all the funny tales you recall on here of Phoenix. I can tell though that she is a special lady and you hold her in high esteem. ?
I am having an easy day today as I’m shattered after our trip away!
Take care all.

Good morning from an overcast ( again) N. Bucks.
? for susan and anyone else who needs cheering.
Nothing special planned today so I’d better talk myself in to catching up with some housework and must start to think about some projects for our craft club.
We have just booked a week away in our caravan next month. We are going near Southampton so will get DH busy finding places to visit. Any one local have suggestions ?
Hope everyone can find a smile somewhere in their day.

Good morning all from a dull North Leicestershire.

Continuing the washing and ironing from the last lot of visitors in preparation for the next lot is all that is in prospect for me. And a long gossipy catch up with my friend.

Of course, I will continue to think about phoenix. Grandmajean look at the thread entitled 'What a surprise'.

Good morning from an overcast Black Country.

Yesterday, paid a visit to DS and family as they have just returned from 2 weeks in St. Ives. They all had a tan, despite the mixed weather.

I am out with u3a canal group today on a visit to Coventry on the train. So I need to get ready soon as we are meeting at 9.30

Best wishes for olddudders today *Ashcombe, and hoping a solution is found. Glad you will both be reunited soon.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. There's a breeze and it's not forecast to be too warm.
Washing is blowing on the line.
DH is off for a couple of days. He's walking with a couple of his friends. This means I can get on unhindered until lunchtime when DS gets out of bed. I'll get the kitchen floor mopped and go out to get some bits and pieces in the nearby shops.

Happy birthday Gramaretto ?

Sending love and hugs to all, especially Susan , Dragonfly and Phoenix x

Sar53 Mon 16-Aug-21 08:48:21

Good Morning Mick and Morningsters. There's a very watery sun in the sky mid Cornwall.

Such a sad weekend on GN. For Susan ? and Dragonfly?.
Special thoughts for Phoenix ?
Might overlap with someone on this Grandmajean but Well, what a surprise thread helped me.
?Isolation over Scentia and I'm sure that cough will disappear soon.
I've kept thinking about Rufus too Jaxjacky.
Glad you have that date Ashcombe.
Happy Birthday Grammaretto?
Hope the sizzling south is a little cooler today Grandmafrench.

Busy day for me and my measuring tape. Confirmation at 7:00am that the rest of our slabs are on their way. Arriving any moment. Sent a text to DS yesterday as I've not heard from him for just over a month. Text back from the hospital. He was there with DGD who was having an xray on her arm. I hope for a call today to know a little more.

I hope Panache is getting out with her friends and starting to relax.

Hugs for all
